  1. The atrium in below and when you are in the hallway there are windows to look down upon the atrium. So in other words it is closed Not an open glance down) with windows in the hallway to look down.

This is a ship inspection done with heavy pics at the end, including the windows looking down into the atrium along with the Decor and different cabin pics.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Thank you for the info...I might do this then since it will be our 4th wedding anniversary and our 1st balcony that in the evenings we can sit, sip and enjoy (Coffee for me but his bottle for him hee, hee).

@dd2355- THANK YOU for the tip on saving/bringing the papers. I never even thought about customs!! I'm glad I asked about it on this thread.

And we would be out of MD not TX...so we are all good!!

  3. Does anyone know how much it would run to get a taxi from our hotel (Embassy Suites in Linthicum) to the pier? Long story short (I've posted it here already) but I can leave the car for the full 7 days and was able to book it for free using an Expedia coupon. We are considering to still drive ourselves and paying the 105 since we didn't pay for the hotel but never thought of a taxi cab ride over. There would be 2 adults and 1 child, thanks.

How easy is it to get a cab at the pier to bring us back to the hotel?

  4. I am looking through the "Fun Shops" to get my son and husband each a surprise for when we sail. We are not big alcohol drinkers but I did see something DH likes to have every once in a while. So I was wondering, if I pre-purchase it, will it be in the cabin when we arrive and if he doesn't consume it all can we carry it off in our carry on? Also, if we wait and purchase it on board can he have it in the cabin or do you purchase it to get it the last night before disembarking?

Thanks for letting me know, I would hate to spend $80.00 on a bottle and have to leave half behind.

  5. Thanks again for the comments about him being ok in the black sneakers. I found a black dress shirt the other day at goodwill for 1.99 and when I worked retail I bought him a bunch of clip-on ties for under a buck. So we are getting there....slowly, but also have plenty of time =-)

  6. Last cruise we spent over 300.00 in pics (it was RCCL 4 years ago and it was our honeymoon). We got alot of 8X10's and a few 5X7. So I'm trying to gauge a few things.

This will be our first "family" cruise with DS (9) and one of the first times we will have family pictures taken (other then for Christmas cards that we take ourselves).

So, with that being said....what type of pics do they take other then the fancy nights. And what do the sizes run in prices.

Thanks...we are not drinkers but we sure like the pictures!!!

  7. I posted this over on the "Private Island" boards but have not gotten any response in a few days so thought everyone here could maybe help with the input:

I know they can not be reserved until on the ship. And that they run about $20.00 for the day. But what I was not sure about are the following:

Are they also numbered and when you reserve one you get the number to it and it is yours the whole day. Meaning if you go to walk around and come back you show proof that you reserved that one, in case somebody is not aware you paid for it?

If they are "first come, first served and reserved" what happens if you DO want to walk around and then come back? Do you just go to another one not being used?

Just wondered how it all worked out. I have read the pros and cons of them and think I like that we would have a place on the beach, in the shade NEXT to DS (9) to play until he's done....but the price of a cabana for 3 ppl is not in our budget.

    Thanks!!

  8. I have never decorated our door, but this year DS (9) will be sailing and since he will have his S&S card I don't mind him beating us to the cabin...and would like to know he is opening our door and not standing outside the wrong door! I decorated our door (And hotel windows) for fun at Disney World and he liked that....easy for him to run ahead and "open" the door for us as we strolled back to the room.

I saw that JH posted on FB that some folks has used GLUE & Tape!! What!?! So, this got me thinking of a few things...

Are cabin doors metal for magnets? If so, I'll buy a few from the $ store to take and not worry if they get taken. And what have folks used to decorate their rooms with? Not sure I will be doing that....but interested in knowing. Please feel free to post pics also

    Thanks!!

  9. I know their are specialty drinks on all ship, but I am not really a drinker. So I was interested in knowing if there is anyplace online that describes the frozen drinks they offer and if they are offered without alcohol? I would also assume they would be cheaper without it, but does anyone know by how much? Thanks!!!

  10. Thank you!!! DH thinks I'm crazy for even "thinking" of the shoe situation. For the first time I really, really PLAN on packing light and interchanging alot. I even found a 3 in 1 tide sheet "incase" I NEED to wash something that ties into the "interchangeable" scenario.

So, thumbs up on black sneakers!! Thanks so much!

  12. DH is very healthy (compared to me and my croissants/donuts)...He eats oatmeal, scrambled egg whites and wheat toast 5 out of 7 days a week. I heard there is an omelet station....do they offer JUST egg whites? I am also assuming wheat bread will be offered to toast someplace. Thanks...we will be sailing in the Pride.

  13. DS will be 9 when we cruise and mainly wears sneakers. I did find a pair of tan "docker" shoes he has tried on and likes. I thought we can use those for casual dining, but what about fancy shoes?

I don't own a pair for him and since there are no weddings or other fancy galas in our future I don't think he will wear them anytime prior to growing out of them. I got him a pair of black dress pants at a yard sale over the fall. He does have one pair of mainly black "cars" sneakers....can I bring those as his everyday shoes and will they be noticed on the fancy nights? I would hate to buy & pack shoes that he might not wear even if I bring them.

Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas other have done? Thanks!!

  14. We plan on snorkeling there!! Our first port (Grand Turk) I was going to book a snorkel excursions but DS (9) has only "practiced" snorkeling in a pool. We realized that if we booked one we might never get him off the boat and into the water. So I booked the Semi-Sub instead so he can "see the fish" but I will not stress on wasted money if he didn't want to snorkel.

So at HMC will be our first real "Snorkel" adventure and again just plan on bringing our out things to use and just see how it goes. If he loves it then we might book an excursion at freeport if they is anything available.
