Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks to your trip report I'm currently sitting in Crooner's listening to Cola Sounds, probably the third or fourth set we have caught at least part of. Definitely a new favorite thank you!
  2. I'm not a big breakfast eater but I admit I am excited to try the suite breakfasts. What is everyone's favorite off menu things to order? In the buffet I typically get a ham and cheese omelet with various veggies and I expect to be able to order something like that with hash browns or other potatoes. I also love trying whatever is in the international breakfast area because most of those foods I have never heard of before and I expect for anything like that I would just have to be a hobbit and have 2nd breakfast in the buffet. What else should I try?
  3. I will be traveling in January with someone with significant health issues. If they only have energy to travel about a 15-20 minute slow walk from port is it even worth getting off the ship or does that barely get us into anything touristy? We are travelling on Discovery princess if that makes a different with where the ship docks.
  4. I have booked a suite next year on Discovery Princess specifically with the 360 experience in mind. My concern is my husband and I both have food allergies so have avoided any set menu meals previously. My husband is allergic to alcohol and shellfish and I am allergic to mushrooms. 2 of those seem pretty uncommon and all seem common for fancier meals. Will we have enough options or will we be doing the 360 experience and following up with a trip to the buffet so we actually get a meal?
  5. Thank you! I tried searching the boards but hadn't even thought to search the articles.
  6. I am not asking anyone to break the rules so no naming agencies or agents. I am looking for suggestions on what to look for or really just where to start in finding a TA. I have booked a few cruises on my own and 1 with an agent. I also have booked Disney trips with TA. The TA on the Disney trips absolutely made the trip a lot smoother for me but my experience with the TA booking my cruise was definitely not magical. The biggest issue I have with finding or using a TA is I work nights so when they are open and working, I am sleeping. That is also what makes booking on my own less appealing as when issues come up and I need to be on the phone with customer service I am losing valuable sleep before work. How do I find someone fabulous? Happy to dig through google and all of that but when I booked my first cruise with a TA I basically threw a dart at google results because I have no idea where to even start to find someone that will work well for me.
  7. Thank you for sharing this trip report! I'm on a similar trip in just a couple of months and seeing your pictures and hearing what all you have been able to do is making me really excited for my own trip. I'm also glad to hear they have lectures about Alaska. That was what sold me on Princess as the cruise line I should take I love learning about the places I am going but since that is all just on the patter I was a little worried they had stopped post Covid.
  8. I'm flying in the day before and hoping for an airport transfer to a hotel away from the port but where I could safely walk to a grocery store to pick up some soda for the cruise. I'll grab a Lyft or Uber to the port the next day. Anyone know of a hotel that fits that requirement? Prefer 100-150$ per night range.
