  1. Yes they are. We always bring one.

Q:What items are not allowed onboard the cruise ship? A:Weapons, illegal drugs, and other items that could interfere with the safe operation of the ship or the safe and secure environment of our guests and crew are prohibited. The following are examples of items that guests are not allowed to bring onboard. These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found. Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, flammable liquids, explosives, and dangerous chemicals will not be returned..

Prohibited items: * Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas. * Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.) * Illegal Drugs & Substances * Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy are curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However "torch lighters" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited. * Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, Bows & Arrows * Illegal Drugs * Skateboards & Surfboards * Martial Arts Gear * Self-Defense Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks. * Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks. *HAM Radios * Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint. * Alcoholic Beverages (Note: Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from shops onboard will be stored by the ship and delivered to you on the last day of the sailing. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.)

  2. I was supposed to be on this one with you all...We had to change as we have a wedding to attend in Dallas. But we are going to be on the serenade for our wedding anniversary in March. We have early flight then also. Its been changed twice by USair. So going for it. Just planning on express walk off.

    Have a great time.

  3. Hey Christie, I haven't seen you around here a lot lately. It isn't like the days on the first, and best, "Explorer Thread".

I have been thinking about cancelling our upcoming Allure cruise because of the ship's propulsion issues. After reading this thread I may rethink that. Now I picture the sail date approaching and, instead of packing suitcases, me sitting here posting on CC about how upsetting it is!

I know OB...one of my favorite threads....and of course the Adventure thread...Christie started one of the most read threads on cc....

  4. So so sorry to hear this Christie!!! I know first hand how much you love the Explorer. While we haven't cancelled a cruise we sometimes flip them to another date to accommodate what ever has come up in our world. Being a parent caretaker has its challenges for sure. I am glad you are on the mends. Seems like this past year has had its medical challenges for us all. I watched sail away on the the cruise we were to be on and had to change and I missed sailing with Meg, Radio and the mrs. and MedicKen..but I got to live it thru Radio's live report.

Look forward to boarding the Quantum. You never know when a cruise opportunity just might happen for you....

Glad to know you are doing alright and looking forward to cruising again.

  5. perhaps just reboot your computer or clear your cookies...no problems here..I can see all 6 future reservations. No problems...havent had any problems either...but gee have seen some really poor attitudes on here and its not customer service at royal caribbean either...

walgreens must have ran out of chill pills or something...

  6. They are two of our closest cruise friends and are already on board, they joined the ship in Malaga on th last Mediterranean cruise

thank you for sharing this with us!! They are fascinating gentlemen and we have enjoyed them being closeby our tables for dining each evening. We have done two back to backs on the adventure and have another one coming. We were curious if they would return with the ship porting elsewhere. Great news for sure.

  7. I head off on my TA next week!!

Please pop any questions you might have and I will do my best to find the answers for you. Please put your questions via this link so I have everything in one place!!

Soooo excited!! Will aim to post daily....

it would be interesting to know if our favorite two gentlemen from Spain will be back on board as the ship is in a new location. They love the Adventure.

Let us know if you see them onboard...they are second seating diners always a two top near the captains table by the pole...I can see them now with their outfits.

  8. I would just like to thank all of my great cruising friends that I have met over the years from sitting at the bigger tables our agent put us in. I have loved all of your stories and yes some nites we closed the doors enjoying our coffee but without your wealth of experiences we may not have tried new places, new ships, or perhaps felt comfortable to try new things in strange countries to us on our own.

I would miss this....yes it is my vacation and I eat every day of the year with my family..sure is nice having guests at my dinner table with some fascinating stories .

  9. usually the second evening is first formal night. We have had the second formal night on the friday evening as well. Been on two back to back vacations on her and excellent choice for your cruise.

There is a great thread about the adventure also...just search for the adventure of the seas...

lots of great advice and experiences.

We live here in the northeast and we fly down a day early. While the ship may not depart until 830pm...muster drill is at 6pm and all aboard is before that for guests that went off the ship for the day doing consecutive cruising..

lots of great hotels in several different areas and the old San Juan is just a short cab ride away. We depart from the Pan Am Pier and not the one in old San Juan. Carnival is usually parked there for their departure.

We can't wait until the end of January for another great two weeks and Superbowl Sunday again!!

  10. We are diamond plus and in June had to give them our crown and anchor numbers and proof of status..took two seapasses. After a few minutes...we were at the Bellagio doing this....no problem....here are your platinum cards. Be reminded...their system renews every october so when we go in january we have to take once again I suppose. Now when on the Rhapsody in August we had to choose between rccl benefit or MGM...hadn't heard that part before so we didn't get drink coupons...
