  1. So, I just saw at RCI's website that they're about to post the Adventure's sailings through fall of 2014, which ends the Europe season with another transat to San Juan in November. The eastbound transat in April 2014 is from Miami, not San Juan. It will do a one week cruise from Miami to San Juan/St. Maarten/Labadee/Miami after drydock before the transat.

thanks for the great information!!! We so enjoyed our past two weeks on the Adventure with Robyn on board with us too....

it was our first time staying at the Embassy Suites and hopefully not our last. Last year for our first time spending the night in san juan before our first cruise out of this port, we chose the Comfort Inn and didn't have a good experience. We loved that area tho. We felt we made a great choice this time also. The people were awesome and we enjoyed our experience.

  2. We'll be in a corner aft, 1688 in April. Poor us :p

Its great to see more Delaware folks loving the Adventure!!! there were several of us two weeks ago doing a b2b and then on the second week a large group from Seaford on our plane home that loved the Adventure!!!

We are from Smyrna!!! Bonnie Voyager here on cc is from Newark...she has all the great cabin pictures!!!

  3. The ship ran out of Pina Colada Mix...REALLY?????? No way...one of my most favorite drinks...who responsible for the shortages?

    Angela

Food and Beverage Manager. This ship has just introduced the liquor packages and apparently still using past weeks information. The bar people were very upset as they use these mixes in several combinations. People were mad. Rightly so in my opinion and the drink of the day or special was changed several days before as they knew they were getting low.

So hoping they get it under control. Not like the mixes are going to go bad having extra and I do realize storage is a premium but if you are going to offer this you have to be able to supply it. I would be very upset if we had purchased these packages and not been able to get our favorite beverages as they didn't seem to be adjusting them.

  4. Robyn,

It was great to meet you at the Sail Away on Feb 17 (your first leg of the trip). I just can not believe how fast the time went. Now to begin the countdown till next Feb!

As much as you love the AOS, so do Steve and I. You are so right when you say "the crew takes pride in her" and they are always working hard around the ship. It is our favorite ship in the fleet. Just the right size, not too big, not too small! Also, we love leaving and departing from San Juan as it is very quick and painless, well, painless as in no problem, but painful that I am leaving know that there is no cabin stewart or MDR at home! Can't wait for another adventure on her. BUT after our appearance on the newlywed game, not so sure I want to show our faces!!!!

Glad you enjoyed your second week and we will look forward to the pictures.

Oh Nurse Nancy!! come join us back on the Adventure for one or both of our weeks!!!! Showing your face is never a problem girlfriend!!! I have to say it was easier going in and out of san juan then doing Bayonne!!! Getting on and off the ship was easier this time than last time. Talking about service...huh...no steward here and the chef sucked in the kitchen here tonight..lol We sure didn't starve tonight tho..lol

Can't wait to see you guys again.

  5. I so loved my last two weeks aboard the Adventure with Robyn, Carole, Betty and many many others!!! Sure the carpet is worn here and there but varnishing of the rails were being done especially up on deck 12! We were told at the Captains Corner on Saturday that the drydock had been confirmed for April several weeks ago for 2014 April first two weeks instead of four. Not sure what confirmation they got as my ta just told me last three weeks of march and first week of april are blocked out and he confirmed with crown and anchor. I had him check on the last two weeks of march 2014 for us as that is what we had originally booked until having to move it when they changed dry dock dates from end of jan 2014. So who knows. We heard many rumors especially from Pedro our head waiter for the capts table and area that engineers had confirmed a single flow rider was going up on deck 13 which is considered the sports deck and some minor alterations to the ship would be done for that. I think that is a major undertaking for sure. too many people we talked to were excited the ship was going to be "split" during dry dock. don't think so..they said well their cabin steward told them so it must be true. oh boy....guess they don't know about the Enchantment. anyways...as Carole posted excellent two weeks....my nit pick things....they ran out of pina colada mix, strawberry mix, strawberries, and how in the heck do you run out of chocolate milk on day 2? lol so yep our seapass a little less first week and less than first week on the second leg...guess I saved on that 7-14 pound a week weight gain by not having my drinks....lol So thanks to my favorite dining room waiter Anthony Navarro from the Phillipines and his asst Ronald for a great two weeks again. We requested him from last year and also to our excellent room attendant...Maria Johnson.from Panama..who took great care of us in 8614 and Betty and Lew in 8612!!!! Can't wait to be in 8620 next year!!! Food in MDR was great each night for the most part. One evening there weren't many selections that wowed us but we made do. Windjammer also very good. And I have to say I love my crystal we received the first week for 210 nites at sea with Royal Caribbean. That was exciting. We never received our crystals at the other milestones of our journey through crown and anchor! Now they give them at 210 and every 70 thereafter apparently...the two spanish gentlemen received their awards for making Pinnacle this past week which were apparently overdue. Thank you again Robyn and Ocean Boy for starting our love for the Adventure and also for enjoying more of San Juan. You both are great advocates and deserve far more credit for helping us all!!!! Here's to sailing again soon!!!!

  6. I'm baaaaack!!!! :)

In fact, right now I am sitting at my desk and the room is NOT spinning - that's a good thing!

Yesterday was a LONG day - we didn't arrive home until 1:30AM and I still managed to drag my butt into the office today. My inbox is completely full and I figured I should start sorting through it all. Yes, my vacation is offically over :(

At some point in the next while, I will get my pics uploaded.

In the meantime, if you have any questions - fire away!!!

So so glad you made it home alright. Been a busy morning here but i just had a sandwich...darn no windjammer here...and catching up on reading and emails. Thanks again for great times these past two weeks. awesome

  7. You say you were at the airport at 8:55 am - did you self disembark or did you get an early off group - thanks for any further input regarding disembarkation. ;)

We were Green tag five with a 745am schedule to leave the ship. We were leaving our room about 8am and got down to luggage and took a porter as they had a vip type line open...quick and gave them a few bucks and in a cab heading to airport. Not much of a line at the usda station and then to the long airtran line.

  8. First off, let me say that I don't doubt what Boavfan said about her return trip at all. However, in the past when we have left San Juan we did not encounter such problems as a 3 hr. wait to check our luggage. Since we will be on the next sailing of the Adventure I would appreciate it very much if anyone could let me know, is this now the norm in San Juan?

We just got off two fabulous weeks on the Adventure with Robyn. Our experience at the terminal this morning...we just met the four hour window to check in luggage with Air Tran. If your flight is not within a four hour time period of checking in they would not accept luggage. Delta was showing no earlier than two hours. Not sure what the deal was and we were at airport at 855am.

  9. Sounds like you are having a rough day.:D

Lol!!! Yes met up with Robyn and Carole! No one else approached us from the new crew coming on. Guess they forgot! I told Robyn I had been reason thread!!! She joked about the caves!!! Yes she had her beer on her hand!!! So onto this week!!! We have second seating dinner so not till 9 tonight!!! See what you are missing???

And thanks again for all of your great help over the years!! We love this ship!

  10. Can I just say how much fun we have had this first leg??? Oh my gosh. The food is very very good and staff awesome! OB. Someday we will sail together! Robyn and I were talking about you at our meet!! We have met some great cc people this cruise!!!! Robyn you are so awesome!!!! I had to take time to read this thread before battery gives out! Quick nap for all of us!!! Muster at 6 but heading to spa first!!!! Ooops got to go to pool deck.

  11. It helped that Robyn has a picture in her avatar!!! The luggage for both of our flights was coming out at the same time on the same carousel. While waiting, I started people watching - looked for a person with a resemblance to the picture with a teen with her! (I think both our DH were looking for luggage at the time) lol.

The sea air smells wonderful and the sight and sounds of the ocean waves - my piece of heaven.

    Safe travels tomorrow!

    Dorothy

    See you soon!!!!!!!

  12. have fun......hmmm...you're going to St Croix?? bummer wish i was going too...i could visit my friend's bar....grrr...

well have fun!!! will be reading along!!

Meg...you should be going with us!!!!!! We are onboard with Robyn also for both weeks....going to try to visit the bar....got to make sure I put that in our notes for st croix...just was looking at his site on fb

  13. Oh my goodness. So sorry for your injury!!! Glad you are listening to the doctor.

I know what you mean about the Comfort Inn but unfortunately that is where we are staying AGAIN next month before our two weeks on the Adventure. Glad you encountered friendly front desk staff. I sure hope we don't have the musty smell.

Glad to be reading your review and comments...we can't wait to get on board

  14. Not true that both have to buy. We recently did an Eastern Med cruise on the Constellation and I had one but my wife did not. As for the cost and amount one has to drink... well, I usually had a specialty coffee with breakfast, water for a shore excursion, a cocktail at lunch, something poolside in the afternoon, couple of glasses of wine at dinner and a night cap. I found it more that worthwhile.

you were on a celebrity ship....we are discussing that everyone in the cabin 21 and over must purchase the same package.

  15. Liking the sound of this unlimited package :D ...hopefully we will hear more on this soon...going on the Allure next Sunday for a B2B and the Critters have some special things happening on 12/2 sailing and it would be great to be able to post updates from the cruise. :D

Oh Lizzie...exciting that this would be able for you to send pictures of what you all are doing for the kids this trip

  16. I believe when this was tested on the Indy some months ago as a trial every person in the cabin 21 and over were required to have the package. Hope this is not the case. We aren't big drinkers but are usually with some that are.

The problem I see with this....we often drink more in the ports off the ship....yikes Senor Frogs and Carlos and Charlies...darn them...not on the drink pass..lol

  17. Angel, I thought that was you! Am I mistaken, or didn't you used to be from NJ? Or am I losing my marbles, once again?? lol :p

We personally made it ok through the storm, however our town is demolished. :(

It was nice to get on Explorer on the 4th and escape the craziness around here. It was a perfect vacation! :)

Glad you are ok. Been worried but I forgot you were going on the ship.
