  1. Actually, California does not issue Enhanced DL's, just Real ID's. https://fox5sandiego.com/news/california-news/the-real-id-deadline-is-next-year-heres-what-californians-need-to-do/#:~:text=Some states do issue Enhanced,permanent%2C in the United States.
  2. Yes, our county just has the seal printed on the official document.
  3. I believe the birth certificate must be from the County Recorder where she was born with the official county seal. I don't believe the BC from the hospital will work. This can be ordered online.
  4. Happy turnaround day! 🚢Thank you for sharing your first week with us. So glad that you were able to relax and re-charge. Looking forward to hearing about your further adventures!😊
  5. We're newly Platinum, too, Melody, and I wish that I knew the answer so that I could respond to your question. Maybe try calling NCL? Anyway, I love your sense of humor!
  6. When I called our PCC because the fare on our cruise had gone down, he upgraded our stateroom from a balcony to a club balcony and, if we're taking a short break from cruising, he won't call me & will wait until I call him. I think I have a good one.
  7. @YVRteacher I looked up your question about the depth of the Mississippi. While the river is regularly dredged further upstream, the depth of the river is naturally about 190 feet in the French Quarter and reaches a depth of about 200 feet at its mouth in the Gulf of Mexico. Really enjoying your live!
  8. We've used the same PCC for about 5 years and he is wonderful! Before that, we used his predecessor for about the same length of time and he was also great! We've been very happy with ours. He'll call me back on a Sunday and even gave me the name of his brother, who's also a PCC, in case he's ever out of the office! Wish we could recommend him by name but I know that that's not allowed here.
  9. Your photos brought back such great memories! Thank you for that. Last time we were there, it absolutely poured for three days. I do love me a good NOLA thunderstorm but it does slow you down. I was going to tell you not to miss the pralines, but the ones I make at home contain cream. BTW, the pronunciation is regional, so it's okay to say PRAY-LINES, just not in New Orleans LOL. Happy embarkation day!
  10. So sorry to hear about the incident with the guest performer. It's amazing how a grown man could be so cruel to fellow humans, especially to a child. Good for you for calling him on it. Just push it out of your mind and, if it comes back, push again, and enjoy your time in New Orleans and on your upcoming cruise. A trip to the Botanical Garden today might be just what you need. That chunk of land off the coast is indeed Catalina Island. When I was a child, I took my first cruises on the SS Catalina, "the big white steamship," and spent a week there every summer with my family. You can also see the smaller San Nicolas Island behind it, which is a training facility for the US Navy.
  11. Yes, that's what I meant - that it was still possible to take a Snake River cruise . My apologies for being confusing.
  12. We went up the Mississippi on American Cruise Lines and they still have a Columbia and Snake River cruise. https://www.americancruiselines.com/cruises/columbia-and-snake-river-cruises
  13. Not even close to 20, but I rescheduled that POA cruise 6 times before we could finally go!
  14. I remember that day well. It was on Friday, the 13th (which is usually lucky for me, but that's another story). We were scheduled for our second cruise on the POA on March 30, and I remember the President coming on TV and saying that the whole country was shutting down. We had no idea what we were in for. We were able to cruise to Alaska and Mexico in 2021, but we couldn't take that POA cruise until the end of 2022. So grateful to be where we are now!
  15. Thank you all so much for your replies and suggestions!❤️ With our discounts, it was only $49 for the two of us, so I guess we'll take our chances. Even if there's a long line or it's super foggy and we decide to skip it, we're not out that much money. And we're in port all day so, hopefully, we'll have several chances to try it. Thanks again, and happy cruising to all of you!😊
  16. Hi, Yvonne, We're there May 25. Is that your and Dad's birthday cruise?
  17. Thank you so much for your reply, @boxedmoon! I had read that the lines can be long, too, especially since there will be 3 other ships in port that day. On Trip Advisor someone quoted 2.5 hours!
  18. We're sailing on the Sun to Alaska this coming May and I just received an email from NCL changing our Goldbelt Tram tickets in Juneau from 10 a.m. to 7:01 a.m. We're in port from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and there's no way we'll be getting off at 7 to ride the tram. I thought that I had read somewhere on these boards that the tram tickets are good all day but I can't seem to find it now that I need it. Can anyone tell me if that's correct?
  19. Loving your review so far! ❤️We'll be on the Sun to Alaska this coming May, 4th time to Alaska on NCL and first time on the Sun. Looking forward to hearing about your adventure. Thank you for sharing it with us! 😊
  20. We did a cruise up the Mississippi from New Orleans to Memphis a few years ago and it was one of our very favorite cruises of all time. Very different from ocean cruising but we loved it!
  21. DH is a retired community pharmacist and he loved the Pharmacy Museum!
  22. Yes, totally agree. Our luggage looks black in the photo, but it's also blue, although I would like crimson, better!
  23. Wandering the French Quarter sounds like a great way to spend the day! We haven't tried the other two winners of the beignet competition, but we have visited Cafe Beignet on Royal Street (my favorite street!) several times, and they do an excellent job. I can't speak to being a woman alone as I've always had my bodyguard (DH) with me but, especially during the day, I think you'll be fine if you just exercise the normal precautions. You may already know this, but the good shopping area on Magazine Street is a bit of a hike from the French Quarter, but there's public transportation or uber and the HOHO bus stops there, too. Going to the Botanical Garden you could take the streetcar - that's a fun adventure in itself!
  24. Totally agree with using a luggage strap. Having a missing bag is always a concern but it wouldn't be easy for us to shlep our bags off the ship. So, we started out with a colorful bow and smart tags and later added these eye-catching luggage straps that make it really easy to spot our bags in the crowd. Checking out those luggage handle wraps, too! Oh, and we also take a photo of our bags before we leave for the port or airport. Amazon has a wide variety of colorful luggage straps. These are the ones we have: https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Travel-Luggage-Suitcase-Accessories/dp/B07KLQCBNJ/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3QTTO3IRUYS33&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.DTwaoEn9amQcdMGaoPOJWk2EIN7w8HB1WGLotFJCRJV6lbHeBfqC0wjAx41JK00CjE76pO-x7ZrfaLBg1T-Z4MbtP2Aa9gM1FpvwTSunvBDnxZsJEmeY6QTNoNROqM4pPoKJX7WntJ8oDxZ9hhrAr7yhHIre1dqUGJdsZVk25pHWNFMGD3k-mNaLTSyToahWcitd8XTnQ-YiCkDFFol72Mlrd60riIPwNfaENTfUOTYBbWINr4O5qvJM1R0FJ-LiS2D4HWbx6eqJqMeyCHBog92zJsQFkMeS0b2Zn9edJzc.AY-uha-kVdqTdiShVP9tLTB6oeWwpOXncdTtCux1RzA&dib_tag=se&keywords=colorful%2Bluggage%2Bstraps&qid=1710189362&sprefix=colorful%2Bluggage%2Bstraps%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-6&th=1
