  1. Ok guys, going on a cruise at the end of next month. It’s been since 2005 that I last cruised with Royal and I was not able to drink then. As much as I would love for my friend and I to be able to get the ultimate drink package, that doesn’t seem to be in our favor this cruise for a few reasons I won’t get into. We will be getting the soda package & I know we will receive a cup with that. Does anyone know if on the Allure you can purchase a refillable cup for alcoholic drinks like you can on Carnival and then they cut you a break on the drinks you put in it? Thanks in advance all!

The drink cups are for the coke machines. They have the chip under them to enable you to use them. I am not aware of a refillable booze cup.

  2. Really? What if someone in a wheelchair or using a walker needs to get around your scooter at 11 am or 3 pm, 5pm, what then? Actually, the halls are pretty deserted in the middle of the night.

Well we weren’t in our room at those hours, so it wasn’t an issue. At night it was removed. He doesn’t have a scooter anymore since he had the surgery. Please work with your attendant.

  3. Last year we took the Eclipse Cruise and it was right before my husband's hip surgery. He was bound and determined to be on that cruise. He had, a cane, and a scooter we rented. Needless to say, the scooter did not fit in our balcony room. He had to park it in the hallway. We had a wonderful room attendant that we were able to call when we were in for the night and he would have it stored til morning at 7. Worked great! Out of the hallway at night and back there in the morning. Worth a try.

  4. If you mean the swim and lounge area---no charge. There is an age of no one under 16 I believe to use the Solarium facilities. The solarium bistro is part of the food included where you can eat. There is a charge for a couple of entrees in the evening otherwise not. We make reservations if we want to eat there at night but I have seen people come in and see if they can get in. Others may help with more info.

I’ve searched the RCL site, for what that’s worth, and all these boards and I can’t find info about the solarium. Is there a charge? Is there one on Liberty? What does it offer? If anyone can direct me to the Info I’d appreciate it.
  5. Even if the ship gets in at the 5:30 am that you say, that does not mean the ship has cleared arrival. You will not be able to get off until all the paperwork is done and clearance is given for disembarkation to begin. Now a days you have to be at the airport early to clear too. Sorry, but no way.

(Funny how people can't wait to get on board and can't wait to get off.;p)

  6. Quick update as we dock in Labadee! Beautiful weather here! Kinda surprised that there are a few kayaks not really that far from us. Went to WJ for quick breakfast probably around 7, by about 7:20 folks were having trouble finding seat so we beat the rush. Believe me we saw all that when going into WJ just to get mugs filled. Both Hubby & I are surprised at the amount of vibration we feel.

    Vibration?

  7. ok---I'm not being a smarty but why not save yourself ALL the lugging aggravation, and buy a case of water, and have it waiting for you on board. A case of water should not break a well planned out vacation ( I would think?). As others have said, you take your chances. I have seen them delivered with luggage (if they have survived the transfer:D ) and seen the cases delivered from on board stock. Good luck.

  8. We live in California so I wanted to make my trip was worth it. We are going on the 4 Day Bahama Cruise on the Mariner on April 22nd. I found a great fare on United non stop to Miami on the 21st. I found the Ramada Inn by the airport that will shuttle us to the port for $10. After the cruise we will get a car and head to Orlando for my Happy Place, Disney World for the week. I have a time share that is 5 minutes from the park. We will fly home from Miami. I am so excited. Plus we have a lot of friends coming on the cruise.

Your enthusiasm is contagious! Have a wonderful time!

  9. Agree, won't do this on own. Last time got back from a ship sponsored Tulum. Ship waited just for us, fortunately we weren't DIY as could have been left behind...

Not to be a kill joy, but with the way things are in Mexico right now, do really think it’s safe and recommended to travel so far and wide unsanctioned by Royal? Think about it.

  10. Yes, high speed boat. Done it dozen times in 30 yrs. Only way to get there. Waves can get high, didn't bother me but some that usually get sea sick it could...

Got horribly seasick on that high speed ferry ride! I suggest dramamine or wrist bands. I use wrist bands now on any rough sea trip.

  11. I would like to know if there are any hotels very close to the Port of Bayonne that someone could recommend?

We come from the Boston area and arrive the day before. We stay at the Courtyard Newark Elizabeth. It’s a decent location with a restaurant right by if you don’t want to eat in the hotel and there is a huge outlet there too—which I have not gone to. We like it very much. Safe, clean, and close by.
