That's interesting.  It is kind of a good thing. It encourages people to get tested on board if they have symptoms.  I expect a lot of people would avoid it unless they really needed medical attention just so they didn't end up in quarantine.
(I realize this was different for you because of your situation).

I have taken express test just recently, it took 25 min to get a result. If boarding takes place 4-5 hours before sailing, there is no problem to take tests from all passangers. I am pretty sure we can make this work and make our travel experience much and much safer

This must be so hard for you folks on the first few sailings in Europe.  You have NO idea what sailing is going to be like in the European ports at this point.  Our Baltic sailing isn't until July so we have some time.  But this is a lot of money for a final payment when there is no guarantee as to what these cruises will look like.

To me, ports in the Caribbean can change the day before and I really don't care.  They are all the same to me.  But these European ones are very specific.  And skipping a port or only being able to take Celebrity tours would really change the cruise.  (Not trying to pour salt on an open wound.  Just trying to sympathize.)

Going to Europe right now is veru risky, and its not only connected with pandemic and a few coutnries being locked up but also a danger of a war coming from the East. We dont know what will happen, and we all shall be very carefull. Hope everyone is doing alright

We chose to cancel partially because of the protocols, not because we "don't want to engage in safe practices", but because three weeks of masking in the tropics would make it a very expensive, non-vacation experience for us. Our choice.

As it happens, I am currently waiting out the quarantine time after contracting Covid from the assisted living facility where we sat with my sister last weekend as she died. (They had at least one resident with Covid.) We were to leave on Weds. to drive down to FLL for the cruise, so would have had to cancel anyway.

Please take my condolences. I have lost a loved one not that long ago and I can literally feel your pain. May God bless you and protect you from whatever harm may come. I wish you and your family stay safe and protected. Take care my friend

We were upgraded from Spacious Balcony to Owners Suite at 365 a person.

Question - why was I charged 810?  Are there extra fees when moving to a suite?  Did I miss the fine print?

    thanks

I am pretty sure there is an extra fee for moving from one cabin to another. I mean its an additional headache for them to cover all this up. They have to configure their system, enter new data, register all fo you under a new cabin and de-register you from the old one. This process takes awhile, and they charge for it

This happened to us with 3 legs of Edge going to Australia late 2023, we got price match with an agent and the deal was so good our Australian friends booked the same way.

I never had anything closer. I even doubt booking anything anytime close. I mean booking or even getting a deal for 2023 right now and paying for no matter how good it is - is still very risky.

  6. I am pretty sure that cruise staff takes safety measures way too seriously than passangers who can only talk about how bad it is, and how their rights are limited and etc. These people working on board are basically risking their lives everyday just to make our day on board enjoyable and we dont appreciate it..

From a recent sea day when they raised the projection screen and sun shade in Two70.  I missed the projection screen going up but here is the sun shade going up in double time.

Wow, its quite big there, however, I dont see many people there hanging around. Are they just testing it out? Also, I doubt you can have a full meal sitting by that small table over there. Only drinks and snacks at maximum. I wonder if it was free of charge

  8. I like the clause about being fully vaccianted. I mean its a fine requirenment for me. I am vaccinated myself and I would feel much safer among people who are also vaccinated. Its much safer this way. I mean it still can be a little problematic to get on a cruise but at least the company is secured from being accused of anything

  9. There so many different travel agencies out there. Like a million of them. Some of them are trustworthy while others are not so much. I would be very carefull choosing between them. Read reviews, talk to people taking those cruises and etc. There is a lot fraud in that field.

We have done 4 people in a balcony cabin.  I think it was on the magic.  They make up the couch into a single bed and there is a bed above the couch that folds down from the wall.  Makes the room really crowded and small with the bed over the couch.  And if the person sleeping on the couch sits up in the middle of the night they will bump their head.

Well, it has been practised before my friend. We used to do it all the time taking balcony beds inside the cabin to accomodate our friends or new friends from neighboring cabins. I wouldnt sleep on the balcony though. You can get cold lol

Perhaps you could convince the people who are in charge of ship bandwidth to increase their contract for more speed there as well. No hardware upgrades are needed...just a bigger service plan with the provider.

I doubt it will help. In any case, it will take lots of time to fix all the server problems before approaching its extension. Moreover, such a procedure is not cheap. You will have to pay a serious amount of money to have it all set up and work as intended

I bring these magnetic hooks to hang on the walls.  We hang hats, bathing suit coverups, light jackets, etc...

It seems like you carry lots of stuff with you =D Usually we dont take too much stuff with us, I dont even put my clothes in a wardrobe, I keep everything inside my bag for the entire cruise lol.  However, Its quite practical to carry such things with you

He is fine and home on vacation.  Verified.

Sounds good. I am sure he had great time travelling. When I get back home after a cruise, I just like spending my time watching TV, playing video games and play with my children. Cant really force myself leave my apartment to do something in between lol

Want to book my shore excursions online and use my onboard credit for payment but it looks like it is charging my credit card or will they at the end of the booking give me the credit?

    Thanks

I would rather get on a cruise and ask about it on board. Or, I would wait for the ship to reach the shore and learn more about it right on the shore. I am pretty suere there will be tons of people offering excursions for prices way lower than on the website

You quarantine in your room as a close contact - you isolate to the red zone if you test positive.  Our quarantine as close contacts was 24 hours

24 hours doesnt seem like a lot. Its quite a short quarantine if you ask me. What is the purpose anyway? I heard this thing can still be infectious for like 60 days or something. I wonder when this pandemic will end..

I am not sure if it is an FCC. If not I am sure that it is nonrefundable.

I  am just wondering if either one can be pushed out to next December. I just don't feel like paying in full for a cruise 2 months from now with so much uncertainty about itinerary, precautions etc.

This is exactly what everyone feels when they are due to pay the full amount for a cruise which can most likely get cancelled due to uknown situation in the world. If there is a chance to pospone the payment or make at least an advance payment - I would stick to this option

  18. Quebec is a great city. I have no idea when I will have a chance to visit it again, bu I will certainly do it in the near future. Thank you very much for all the photos you have posted. Cant express my enjoyment of going over them. Its like going back in time. In any case, hope everyone is doing great and gets eady to travel

Worth it?  Many people will say "Definitely worth it!  All drinks are included!"

This things confusses people all the time. Just think of how many drinks you can really drink - you wont drink it all.. and the ones you will drink wont cost the price you pay for the "all drinks included". What if you are not a drinker in the first place?
