Had the Platinum/+/Ambassador party in the District on my last Escape cruise.  Good time...wasn’t too crowded.  They had light snacks like sushi, spring rolls, chicken wings, etc....along with beer tastings.  They certainly kept us in plenty of food and beer.  Met some new friends and probably lingered another hour there after the party was over.

Not sure how they do it now, as this was in June.

No drinks besides beer? Beer tastes icky to me.

Sounds to me have just a simple computer problem or your trying to bid and the minimum may have went up and your email thread hasn't updated, suggest temporarily trying to bid aliittle higher and see if it accepts your request, you could always then go right back in and cancel if it's more $$ than you want to spend

It was already far into the good category, but I raised it even more per your suggestion and still same message.  Guess I could call my travel agent and see what they (or NCL) could do, but I know my TA is off this entire weekend.

Yes, you can offer a bid for multiple cabin types.

I have a bid in for the lower balcony category, but for two weeks now every time I try to place a bid for the mini suite category I get the message 'try back in 24 hours' so thought perhaps I could not place two bids.  Very frustrating at this point for our November sailing as really want to bid on the higher category

You're we'll past final payment, bidding is your only option imo.

if the price drops, you may be able to get an OBC, but insofar as upgrading your room by rebooking the lower rates, I'm afraid.that ship has sailed.

Once you've made final payment, that's it. You're locked in for your cabin and price, unless you go through the upgrade advantage program.

If you can and they're available, I'd bid on a spa m/s over the standard m/s. Or throw a few bids out there.

Thats my advice. I've heard stories of people upgrading their cabins after final payment by calling their PCC/ta and paying the difference but not sure if that's policy or luck of the draw.

HOW does someone "throw a few bids out there"?  I would love to do two but only able to place ONE bid!

Thank you to everyone who has responded above.   It seems that to the extent folks have reported on having recent guest lecturers, they have been on NCL's largest ships.    We are probably going to take a TA on the Jade... It will be interesting to see the Jewel-class experience in terms of lecturers (if any).

I sure hope you are right! Will be on the Jade for a 21 nighter in November and it would be lovely to have lectures again! Have been on the Sun 4 times in recent years and nary a lecture.

  6. Have been away for more than two months, but promised to report back about our use of Fantastica drink vouchers on our 28 day MSC Splendida sailing, March30 - April 27.  We had received an emphatic NO about receiving them  after contacting MSC customer service prior to our cruise and had even been given some small onboard credit for the "inconvednience".. However, we had the Fantastica benefits clearly stated on our booking paperwork in several different places. I printed them all up and took them along with us to our embarkation port in Dubai. Once onboard my very patient and super diplomatic husband went to plead our case at Splendida guest services. It took three very patient, insistent tries, but he came back to our cabin with our two books of drink vouchers!!!  No problem whatsoever using them at any of the onboard bars, either, although $8. was definitely the spending limit. Since we were not expecting to receive this benefit, it only helped enhance a truly wondeful sailing!

My husband and I a few times went to the bars with the kids so the bartender would acknowledge them. We almost always tipped at least a euro at that seemed to always help with service and what was included.

Good to know about the extra tipping! We booked this cruise far in advance, and at the suggestion of our MSC booking agent paid more to move to a Fantastica Balcony cabin from a perfecty acceptable (and higher floor))! Bella cabin PRIMARILY tp get the vouchers since no other drink package made sense to us as we are light drinkers and there was no other drink promo at that time.  We will know this coming Friday if that was a good decision or not...

Our tickets had both drinks on us and the vouchers listed. I needed that sheet at guest services to get the vouchers. 12 each and figuring an average of 8.00 a couple of hundred off the final bill when in my mind I had already paid for it in our package...there was no argument on getting at service I should mention just a need to show the paperwork. Service was professional and polite and in just a few moments we were set.

Fingers crossed for our March 30 embarkation in Dubai on Splendida! (Just over a week now!!!!) We have all the paperwork ready and will be as sweet and nice as apple pie! ☺️🤞

I booked a Fantastica Experience using USA-based travel agency and expected drink vouchers as noted with my Fantastica Experience for January 2019 Sinfonia cruise (European itinerary).  The vouchers were not in my cabin and tablemates (who booked different experiences and drink packages) had received vouchers.  I took up the issue with Guest Services on the first night.  They saw nothing about drink vouchers noted on my booking in the ship's computer system, but they offered to contact Corporate.  The next day, they did "in good faith" give me the vouchers even though no word had come back from Corporate.

Good for you! Since calls to MSC have told us that we do not have the vouchers, even though promised by an MSC agent at time of booking, I am expecting we will get that same "not in the computer system" song and dance in a week or so.  Glad we at least have it printed on our boarding documents, but are prepared to have to be "nicely"  persistent once on the ship.

Please report back after your cruise whether or not you have received the vouchers.

We have the same statement on our e-tickets saying that 12 vouchers will be included.

Very curious to know if they will honour it.

I will try when in port as we will not have internet on this 29 day sailing. Then a couple days in Tokyo followed by a 15 day sailing back home on the HAL Westerdam, again without an internet package.

  12. I am on the March 30 Splendida sailing out of Dubai and was promised the vouchers by the MSC booking agent when I booked also, then told on the phone in a call in January to MSC that the vouchers would NOT be included, and now have the printed PROOF showing the 12 Fantastica drink vouchers on my boarding pass!  Will only believe it when I am actually holding the vouchers in my hand once onboard! 😵

My e-ticket for Armonia March 25th also says 12 drinks voucher. First time on MSC. If we do get them for Fantastica Experience, what alcohol would it cover?

This is exactly what is printed on the vouchers:

"Wines by the glass, bottled and draught beers, spirits and cocktails (premium brands excluded), soft drinks, mineral water and hot drinks."

My cousin printed her ticket for our upcoming cruise in April and the vouchers are listed on hers also.  I think MSC has probably gotten sick of our complaints over this issue.  They didn't even respond to my last email about it!  I haven't gotten my tickets printed yet but I'm now hopeful.

I agree as my several emails on the subject were ignoredMSC as well. Now that I have the PROOF printed, I am very hopeful tht I WILL get the vouchers that were promised to us when we booked a Fantastica balcony cabin.

How is one suppose to know what the last winter sailing is?

Good queston. Our eTickets just arrived and they clearly show that we are to get the 12 Fantastica drink vouchers each for our March 30 Splendida sailing from Dubai; yet a month ago I was told on the phone when we called to ask that we were NOT gong to get them. Who knows??

  16. Just printed our just sent ETickets for our Splendida March 30 sailing and they clearly show (see attachment) that we will be receiving the 12 drink vouchers pp for our Fantastica balcony booking,. Was told on the phone that we would NOT be receiving these a month ago when I specifically called and asked, The starred part shows no ending date anymore either,  so confused..... Anyone else?378659166_FantasticadrinkpackagePROOF!.thumb.jpg.a28b67d0abd989eb5f7d7a68cb3ab982.jpg

  17. Yes, It should say so on your booking page, as Americans, Canadians and Brits get mineral water served at lunch and dinner (for sure if booked through a USA travel agency.) Apparently, many nationalities have to pay for water with meals. I know this to be true on Costa, too.

Indeed, but the crewmembers often pay no attention to the serial numbers. So you can give it a try. Some will accept and others don't. Keep in mind that when you buy on ebay you have unvalid vouchers.

Seems like they might check them quite a bit more after March 25 since there will  be many less using vouchers after that date.

  19. Okay so that means noone on here has used their vouchers from one ship to another? Please let me know as I don't want to be embarrassed. So people selling these on Ebay are selling useless items then...
