We had a lab PCR test done at San Francisco airport where we had results in 20 minutes.   They had the special lab machines there and we waited, outside the airport in a seated area, until our results came through.   The results were digitally uploaded to United and to Hawaii.   Most major airports have these facilities.   Our tests were expensive $200 each but that was back in Feb.

we fly out of a small regional airport and not such test   wish we did.

Hi everyone, longtime lurker, occasional poster here. One can never have too many trip reviews, so I’m throwing my hat in the ring after several “gee, I should have done that” trips. I’m what you may call snarky, and generally don’t see many reviews with sass (perhaps for a reason).,.....

Thanks for joining me so far, I’ll try to update everyone throughout the week.

The card I no longer have got the credit first.

I heard of people "falling between the cracks" and looks like

the 2 credit cards help cause that.

back when this started the phone lines were putting people on hold for hours.  I

also found that with email I had a record of all my correspondence.  When I called

the CC company they wanted proof that I tried to collect.

    thanks for the info.

I GOT THE REST OF MY REFUND!!!!!!!!!

OH well   they said that I got credited for the last $2,000+- on my $8100+ cruise  that was canceled last April

I know most of us on here are chomping at the bit to get on a cruise, otherwise we wouldn't be on Cruise Critic.  I see a lot of people willing to go ahead as soon as the lines start cruising.  But as anxious as I am to cruise and looking at some of the great deals out there (sadly not Celebrity), I still can't pull the trigger and book one.

I'm not cruising until things get back to "normal", whatever that is going to be.  I'm fine with lot's of disinfectants, staff serving me at a buffet, etc.  But I'm not wearing a mask on a cruise or not being able to go to a show because of social distancing,  or sit in a bar, etc.   I'm not going to take a ships excursion or not be able to walk around in port on my own.  Oh and it's not about having to wear a mask, social distancing, etc. as I abide by those protocols now.  It's not that I'm afraid to catch Covid (but don't want to, lol).  But that's not a cruise I want to be on.

If other people want to cruise, more power to you and I hope you have a blessed time.  It's just not the vacation for me right now.  If the cruises were half price..... I might consider but not sure I'd even go then.  Cruises will get back to somewhat normal.  It's not if, but when.  It might be 6 months, might be 2 years.  And yea, there will probably be some protocols in place but not much.  Six months after most of the population has a vaccine, most things will be back to the old normal.  People tend to forget......

We are leaving next week for 8 nights in a cabin outside of Blue Ridge GA.  Lot's of hiking, sitting in front of the fireplace on the patio and just exploring the area.

Be safe all with whatever you choose to do!

We are on hold.  First time we do not have a cruise booked in years.  We plan to do a lot of FL vacationing this winter .  Hopefully sometime in 2021 we'll be somewhere out at sea.

Is the amount that you are owed what was put on the credit  card that you no longer has.  Credit cards that no longer exist cause a lot of grief...Royal has issues with this.  It doesn't matter oif its the same company its a different card number.

Don't e mail.  Call guest relations and escalate this.

Did you cancel the cruise before they did?  That’s the only way I can see them not Issuing  a refund.

did you do the deposit with a different credit card.

there has to be some reason why you received some back but not all...makes no sense

Yes I used 2 different CC.  we always book on board then changed cruises and that credit card we no longer have but we rebooked with the same credit card company.

When we canceled we were given a choice of refund or credit  we asked for a refund.  We have this in a letter from RC.  We then sent 18 emails asking for this refund (2xs they said they will take care of it) we have all of these emails

then we went to CC company and sent them all of the info.  so now they deal with RC.

There were 9 of us for over $8,000 in 3 different rooms  so that and 2 different credit cards prob. explain the breakdown.  my whole thought process in booking this cruise is im spending over $8,000 for a great family vacation with the kids and grand kids.  We have done this before and was best vacation ever

I'm on 4 months and 2 days. I ended up filing   with my credit card  on 6.2.20 .  The CC company is giving them till 9.2.20 .  So far they sent part of the taxes and all of my deposit (20% of cruise so far)  Wish I did that sooner.  A long process but I doubt RC had any plans of refunding my $8176

    Good Luck

As of 10.16.20 I have received 80% of my refund that was canceled in march 2020.  every time the credit card says RC is right not to refund my money we counter and they give RC 6 weeks (by law) to respond,

we get 10 days to respond.

they canceled a cruise, we aske for refund, they will not give it to us.

We canceled all our cruises and Celebrity gave us a refund immed.   We love to cruise and hope everything works out for the cruise companies but the way they treated us is not the way u treat another person let alone a customer

    Hello,

What does everyone miss about cruising? We miss the free entertainment, the great food, the World Class Bar, and not having to cook and clean! What does everyone else miss about cruising Celebrity?

Love no car for 2 weeks.  Love the shows.  Love sitting out on the balcony at night.  Love hanging out on the ship  and love the different ports with the different experiences.  Love the 2 day stops in Aruba.   there actually isn't much I do not like about cruising

Friday we made the final payment for our mid-November cruise on Allure. We know there’s a good chance it will be canceled, but if somehow it does sail and we are not onboard we would be very disappointed.

Hope it works out  for u.   can't wait to cruise again

I am just wondering is there many other people waiting for cruise refunds?

I was due to go on a cruise at the beginning of April and it was cancelled by RC at the end of March. We requested a refund straight away and were told that was ok and it would be processed right away. We still do not have it and every time I call RC they tell me they don't know and there is nothing they can do for me. Just keep waiting, it should be in soon.

We are looking to book a cruise for the end of next year and can't do so until we get the refund from RC, we have already missed out on a lot of good deals. It's getting very frustrating now especially as it is almost €8000 we are waiting for. I have heard of people getting refunds for cruises already that were meant to sail in June but got cancelled. Not sure why they got theirs before we did, surely it goes in a queue format?

I just want to know is there anyone else waiting for money from as far back as this or is it just me?

Yes Mine was canceled on 3.15.20 and got part of it back.  In the middle of June I contacted my Credit Card company (that is how I got part of it back)  the credit card company gave RC till 9.2.20 to respond.

The part I got back was my deposit from 12.2018   so if you didn;t do so I would call the Credit Card co.  immed.

    good luck

At day 94 , waiting for a final refund of one of my Royal cancelled cruises, my TA called the zillionth time and guess what: Stop.

Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first?

Alright the good news is : the representative immediately apologized.,

The bad news is: I am today in my 94th day of nirvana waiting for my refund. First they promised expect your refund in 30 days, than 60 days, than 90 days . The representative now said wait for another 30 days (which sums it up to 120 days refund waiting).

My greatest concern is, that in 30 days from today, the next rep will not immediately apologize  when extending to 150 days.....
