No, Poland and Berlin in Oct/Nov for fun then business. This is planning way farther in advance than usual. Immediately after I bought my tix, the same route was 4 or 500 more...guess I cleared out that class (we're still at Premium Econ for business trips...for fun we'll take the QM2 eastbound and skip jet lag, just wish they still had 5-day crossings). Again, thanks for the itamatrix ref...very helpful for routes I don't normally book.

I'll take this opportunity to thank you for recommending itamatrix. Even with it, I had a heck of a time finding flights with decent layovers (a little over an hour in FRA or LHR, really?!?). Recently I was able to get flights with 3.5 hours in both connecting cities even though it cost a little extra. I like that time to brush my teeth and clean up, maybe change clothes, and have a bite to eat or get an espresso drink.

Maybe the phone app doesn't show the quotes or something? Your responses to quoted text are clear using my browser on a computer but obviously something is missing from some posters' interfaces.

😎 8...hehe...this keeps getting converted to an appropriate emoji...the main entertainment crew (singers, dancers) stay for multiple cruises and also have jobs during the day leading the social/game activities. There are usually other entertainers (e.g., comics, singers, magicians) that may come and go.

7) There is music at various times in Horizons, Martinis, and either by the Grand Staircase (R-ships) or the Grand Bar (O-ships), plus occasionally in the theater. I feel like I'm forgetting somewhere...

1) During the day wear what you want although pool-side attire (suits/coverups/robes) are limited to pool/spa areas. In the evening, in all dining venues (except Terrace) men wear at least chinos and polos with non-sneaker/sandal shoes. Women wear the same (slacks/skirts with blouse or dress). Recently jeans have been added but they are highly controversial, so I'd avoid them to avoid upsetting traditionalists, but super nice non-ripped/distressed jeans are technically allowed. In Terrace "dressy shorts" (e.g., chino-shorts) are allowed at dinner. (P.S. the dress code usually leads to passionate responses)

I numbered your questions to make answering easier. Here goes...

If you are on Regatta, the laundry detergent is automatically dispensed (i.e., you have no choice but to use it)...or at least that was the case last September. On Riviera in December 2021, the dispenser was on the wall; pushing that button dispensed the correct amount and there was a container that was used to manually transfer the detergent to the washer.

It looks like the "always available" Jacques entrees may still be there, but the little icon next to them stands for "Oceania Signature":

I think they may have done away with "drink of the day" with the new bar menus and other bar-features (e.g., bloody Mary bar) that debuted earlier this year. I haven't seen the usual ad in the Currents that have been posted; I'll know for sure in a few weeks if no one with better knowledge chimes in.

I only book fares that allow changes and "refunds" in the form of airline credit; these are more plentiful and cost-effective post-Covid. For me, the flexibility is worth the price difference above the cheapest fare, plus the seat selection and luggage (carry-on and checked) rules affect actual price too. Also, time/distance comes into play...flying a non-stop for 2 hours does not require the comfort of a red-eye to the other side of the globe.

The regular pool is saltwater. Do you need the bubbles? I went and found a video that was taken right after we disembarked in September. The spa terrace tub is referred to as a Thalasso therapy pool, so maybe it is indeed one. It has the metal bar "lounge" seat, and the voiceover talks about bubbles (but not temp or salt). You can find out for sure on embarkation day...maybe try it out if that's allowed.

You inspired me to experiment (it doesn't take much 😉 )...an old luggage tag has been submerged in water for about 25 minutes. The ink is intact and the plastic/paper has not been affected; water beads on the surface and no water has penetrated at the edges which I'd expect with paper that has a plastic coating. I will update if there is a change. Yes, this is my Sunday afternoon fun 🥳

I was last onboard in September at a US port so things may be different now or in that location. The 1 pm you are seeing is the regular embarkation time which means the earliest boarding is probably 11 am. You will know when you do online checking 21(?) days before embarkation. When you check-in online, you will get to choose your boarding time. In September, there was no priority time yet (this was a COVID adaptation when priority times disappeared...hopefully they will return since it is a perk), but there were separate check in lines at that particular port (can't remember if the cut-off was A or PH and they may not exist at some ports).

There are 4 per person on a standard (US) letter-size page. The part with the writing (name, room #, etc.) is a 5cm x 9cm rectangle, then there is a 16cm long bit with a loop at the end. The long bit goes around the handle of your luggage and the rectangle goes through the loop.

There are two next to the pool so hopefully they won't be crowded and your back can get a good soak.

It looks like a lovely room for relaxing. If the ventilation was designed and installed properly, no one will notice (and comment about) the smoke. Win-win!
