  1. I don't think this is a new sale since the one announced in the spring went through the end of June. Probably slim pickings at this point.
  2. We only use balconies to check the temperature, so they are wasted on us. I know a lot of people love to hang out on them though.
  3. Someone did mention Windstar in an earlier post (p 1?), but I agree...I think it and Azamara are my idea of competitors based on our preferences. Even though we drink, I probably will think twice about any alcohol-all-day-every-day lines which puts Windstar above Azamara. I like Windstar's menu of prices for Wifi, drinks, etc....more like O before the coming change. And they have kayaks!
  4. I doubt anyone would care about the plastic ones going astray (my guess is they are a 25 cent item), but the nicer ones should likely stay in the room if they can't be purchased.
  5. I thought I remembered seeing long shoe horns in a video, but can't remember which ship or cabin category. Maybe someone who has been in a suite will comment on what version can be found there. I inherited a nice brass shoe horn...weird heirloom but so handy!
  6. Thanks ORV...No on the shampoo photos, etc. I've seen photos in videos (and even on the O site!) so didn't take any, so here's what I recall. At the very least, each room has shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar/body solid soap, and glycerine/face/hand soap. I don't think the glycerine soap is Bulgari but I forgot to check on this trip. We have also had shower gel (body wash) in the past but it wasn't there this time (D-cabin). "White" scent seems to be the default for lower cabins (although I've asked for blue lotion and received it). "Blue" was provided in A cabins. I think suites choose blue or green, but I'm pretty sure if you asked for white you'd get it. Still aiming to sniff the elusive red 😉 (going to a retail store would spoil the hunt). For those who want to know, the vanity kit has a small nail file, 3 small cotton balls, and 3 swabs. There is also a shower cap. Everything I'm listing is available in the lowest category, so suites may have additional items. I have some more documents post, but I'm still unpacking and doing laundry. I'll post them after I find them.
  7. I was giving my spouse the "known" info about the new program. While chatting it occurred to me that O could make the change more palatable to returning customers by offering some discounts based on O-Club level that would (partially to fully) offset the price increases if the increase is substantial (e.g., price goes up $1000 for the $800 shorex OBC + drinks, etc.). If the price is minimal (say $200 for the previous example), then the change will be less painful and no incentives would be needed...it will be interesting to watch how this all works out both short term and long term.
  8. I believe the concierge veranda on Riviera had metal shoe horns but I don't have a photo.
  9. Are you already booked for the cruise? If so, logon to your account and go to "Manage This Cruise" for the cruise in question. There will be tabs with "Shore Excursion" etc. Go to "Transfers and Visas" tab. I book through a TA and I can't book directly, but maybe people who book directly with O can. Here is what I see:
  10. These aren't documents but some of the miscellaneous items that are in drawers. I tried to get the labels on the hair dryer for people who want to know wattage, etc. The higher level rooms have nicer shoe horns. The other items are a sewing kit and shoe polish cloth. Supply chain issues continue (or they are finishing up the stock)...our slippers had no branding, but I saw a boy with the branded version.
  11. The super awesome voyage calendar in a fancy professionally printed brochure instead of the previous regular paper printout (available only onboard? I really love this format!) 2023:
  12. Room service breakfast menu (steamboats had this but it's worth reposting):
  13. Disembarkation questionnaire (note that disembarkation was on Friday, June 16th) with a city tour option on the second page:
  14. I took some photos of documents on our recent cruise (Regatta June 2023) that I have either not seen in recent posts or that are hard to find with a search (or that were just so exciting I had to post again = I forgot they were posted recently 😉 ). The first is the laundry, ironing/pressing, and dry cleaning prices that are attached to a laundry bag in the closet:
  15. In about 2021 I compared different cruise lines in the premium and luxury categories (nothing larger the O's larger ships). At the time, O was clearly a potential winner over the luxury brands for our desires. Every time I've done a quick spot-check since then, O has been the better value for us. Given that we won't know for sure about the SimplyMore program until we see the legally binding info, what are the main differences between what the luxury brands offer and what O (theoretically) will offer? Ignore price since that is a complete unknown. It's been a while since I compared, and I'd like to hear from those who have recently traveled on both O and luxury brands and can provide differences that may or may not be in the advertising material.
  16. Windstar is advertising some sailings with under $300/day single rooms (a lot more sailings at ~$400)...seems comparable in price to lower-prices O itins, and they have the two different types of ships (the yacht/non-sail ones hold about half the pax as O's small ships). The ones with sails may be cozier than some O pax like.
  17. Riviera goes Tokyo to Vancouver BC in spring 2025. My guess (because I find speculation fun) is that Riviera will take over the previous Regatta California and Alaska season (in summer 2025) then return to Asia in the fall. Regatta has other itineraries in summer 2025. Stay tuned for the actual answer with the next release.
  18. This thread is great! I got a whole cruise completed since it started and it's still going 🙂 I tried a cookie (not sugar free) at Baristas the first day. If there was butter in that cookie, I couldn't taste it (and the texture was wrong). I went back to eating way too many of the little brown cakes...yum! I didn't suffer, and have 4 pounds to prove it 😉 Any dessert with fruit was amazing (OK, they were all amazing), and the cassis sorbet was nice and tart.

  20. OK, I know speculating is dangerous, but here goes... I'm guessing that cruise-only will remain intact. What they are probably doing is offering a more-perks OLife package that appeals people who like the all-inclusive feature of the luxury lines...similar to OLife Ultimate; before getting excited, I bet this new package will cost more than the "choose one of 3" current package (did I mention I'm guessing?!?). For those who want "free shorex" (haha had to say it), there are the YWC and UPC packages (maybe something new? Why not go crazy with speculation). For those who want alcohol, there will still be bevvy packages (same? different?). Like that OBC? By yourself a gift of refundable OBC before the cruise (wait, did I remember to say it was refundable? Yes, I did). There we go. Feel free to speculate too and we'll see how polished our crystal balls are in July or August.
  21. The price of the lower price cabins do not typically drop (the exception being the current Extraordinary Sale), but the other cabins (non-suites and maybe P) are sometimes included in the upgrade sale for underselling itineraries. Discounts can be small ($100) to large ($1000 for A->P).
