I called and got a 3 day extension and then called again in 2 days and got a week extension for both mine and my daughters reservations. HOWEVER, we had already paid approximately 85% and 70% respectively towards our bookings. That may make a big difference since you have only paid initial deposit. It's always worth a try though...call them.

I've purchased them a couple of times. I really don't think they're worth the cost, but they're OK. I've decorated our door each time since and with items from the Dollar Tree, I do a lot better for a lot less! Happy sailing!

My new port wish list includes Jamaica, Alaska, Dubai, Hong Kong, Rome, (and many other European ports) and Hawaii. I kind of want to see Bermuda but my family refuses (Bermuda Triangle stories).

If you show up before embarkation begins, you'll board in this order, weddings first, diamonds next, then Platinums, then everyone else boards according to their times! So you'll usually be in he first 100 to board the ship!:D

Suite guests also board before everyone else (after weddings, P&D).

My kids have always had a blast. They're grown now (except for the 16 yr old) and they're as addicted to cruising as we are!

The ship's WiFi is crap. Only ship I've heard has decent service is the Horizon.

Carnival deluxe OV sleeps 5 and has 2 bathrooms!

My middle daughter was 17 when she first went with us. She had a midnight curfew. Our youngest was 14 on our last cruise, she had a 10 pm curfew, but she's very responsible. She's 16 now and on our upcoming will have a midnight curfew on days we don't have to be off the ship early. She does NOT like waking early. None of my kids ever seemed to get worn out but they knew when to call it a night...sometimes even hours before they had to. I found them in their cabin getting ready for bed one night around 9:30.

I've never use one to book, but once I have booked, looked for and made any adjustments and before final payment, I transfer to a TA. I only do that to get the OBC. For us it's usually around $300 so its worth it.

I'd go with the private excursion as long as its a reputable company. Most of them refund any money paid if the ship misses the port. Now if the ship docks and YOU decided to change your mind, that's another story. July is early for hurricanes so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
