  1. First I have to say the lot on CC is just........chef kiss.

I don't think this new setup is a kick in the a## to pins. Ideally most people cruise because they love doing it. So the C&A perks are/should be an afterthought. The idea that people are spending $1000s to get what might be $200 in perks is amazing and also an insult. I would suspect that only 1/10 pins cruised for the sake of recognition, the rest just loved it and happened to achieve it. IMHO the perks are quite outstanding compared to other lines, so even if things are removed or changed; C&A members still come out ahead. The SL was created for suites, people who are paying $500+ a night to cruise versus the standard $80-ish a night. So Pins, not staying in a suite, having access to it was a bonus. Name another line that is giving you 6 drink vouchers a day. Or setting aside a place for you, regardless of the ambiance? Cruising is a luxury, not a guarantee, so those who pay more should get what they pay for.

  2. Don't quite understand your question. If you are asking what is the latest date you can book a cruise.....then. If a cruise has space, then you can book it. The only thing is the entire fare price is due when booked that late. With reduced capacity some sailings have been unable to book for a while, while the newly released protocols are opening others up.

  3. I am pretty sure RCG will refund cruise fare. If they are flying people who test positive for covid privately, then they are giving refunds. These people are just like the fake vax lady, they are entitled....they want to be made complety whole. They expect RCG to cover airfare, hotel fare , etc. Even if all the wording on each letter is confusing as heck, planning a trip with limited funds over 2 years would warrant a bit of research. I am 95% sure they they thought RCG wasn't going to turn them away and if they did they could get something extra out of the whole ordeal.

  4. I just want to say that spending/value is not relative, it is subjective. It is not always monetary value that determines whether someone can afford something.

There are a lot of factors that each individual uses when determining value. I am by many people's account, bougie, but I have a value criteria. I see no problem flying business or first international and the same for some domestic trips. But I have a system too determine when that happens. It is the same for cruises. I spend an equal amount of time in my room on a cruise but there are factors to the value of cabin. I have stayed in suites but will stay in interiors as well. I prefer them on particular ships and itineraries.

  5. There is a lot of either facetiousness or plain snark going on in this post. Pre-covid you would get an assigned time but didn't have to stick with. It really didn't matter if you had 12 or 3pm, you could just show up and as long as you stood in the lines they let you on. It is the same process but you no longer can just show up and be let on.  Now with the protocols and testing it is assigned times. Meaning the earlier you are able to check-in the better options for times. So there are variables like days and times but only relative to when check-in opens.

  6. The wow sale is, imho, a wow because they haven't had OBC included for a while. However, like every sale it won't be for everyone. A while back they had a good sale with bonus C&A discounts. Being only gold I watched as many people raved about saving $1000s after a reprice. I understand that different ships, itineraries and ports all factor into everything. I had my TA check for this one and was able to get the extra OBC on 1 of my bookings. It is part of a Jan 2022 S2S, so I don't think it is only for 2021 sailings.

  7. @texkatThe double points are an after covid thing, so if you sailed prior to 2020 you only got the 3 points deal. Meaning the standard 1 point, an extra point for a suite and then the extra point for solo. For the double point offer they will automatically apply to all these sailings until Dec 2022 that have been booked by Sept 2022. But it is possible you didn't get the 3pt per night when you sailed solo in a suite.
