  1. I'm losing my mobile signal so will catch up again when we get to La Coruna. Night folks
  2. I was about to but was told to wind my neck in by the boss🤭
  3. We've just had our first meal of the cruise; in Green & Co, which we really like. Excellent meal, really well presented and full of both contrasting and complimentary flavours. I won't yet, but if folk want me to post pics, just vote. Before we left, one of our daughters said, "Dad, if you post food photos on the WhatsApp group I'm blocking you".🤭 Had this tasty little cockertail though...
  4. Thanks 👍 We were on the maiden Transatlantic at the beginning of January, so know our way around a bit. More folk on this one but still doesn't feel busy
  5. Yes. At the point where they were directing folk to the end of the queue, we were directed to the doors where the second person waved us in.
  6. Med; La Coruna Valencia Marseilles Barcelona (overnight) Cadiz
  7. Just as majortom says; in fact, I think it was him that put me on to it.
  8. In fact, there was a queue snaking outside, but our lass has assistance, and we were directed to one of the attendants; we said we were an hour early and she waved us through.👍
  9. Just eight days after booking and getting a bargain fare, we're on board and eager to get going. Easy drive down from East Yorkshire, leaving at 07:00 and dropping our bags off at 11:50. Nipped to Asda for a couple of last minute bits, and returned to the terminal and hour before our scheduled check-in time. Waved through and were in the Keel & Cow bar area just twenty minutes later. I took the advice of others on here and logged onto My Holiday while in the terminal and bagged a couple of 710 club shows. The ship is rammed full. No chance of an upgrade! Whilst sat in the bar, at 13:45, heard the most obnoxious couple being so rude to a waitress. They walked right up to her, and the woman was right in her face. She said on a loud voice so all around could hear, "Why are we here, and not in our cabin"? The poor lass apologised and tried to direct them to Reception. And again, "I'm asking you, why isn't our cabin ready"? I was about to get up and intervene, but our lass looked straight at me and said, "B, leave it". What a totally self important #@&# (rhymes with cat); the woman, not our lass. Will check in later, hopefully.
  10. As I wrote on another thread a few days ago, I would not class either the 6th Street Diner or Olive Grove as MDRs; to me they are just standalone restaurants that happen to be free.
  11. This thread is starting to be as popular as the K307 thread from last weekend. Just nobody mention 🍍 🤭
  12. Selbourne, if I had the time to post properly I would have written more or less what you have, for all the same reasons. 👍
  13. Yes, I've been caught out by that before; and when I've pointed out they only gave me a 5% Peninsular discount, the reply was that the price is already discounted by the initial 5%.
  14. Does the 10% discount also apply if you book on board?
  15. Ooh! We're on Arvia up until the 30th, so will hopefully bag something with low deposit and extra OBC🤞
  16. Have a look in the box under your bed; there may be a body lotion and/or hair conditioner in there. If not, ask your cabin steward as others have said. We've never had a problem getting some.
  17. In January is was full nearly every night John; for the life of me, I cannot fathom why that was.🤔
  18. Yes, indeed. For us, having been frequent visitors to the US before Covid, the 6th Street Diner didn't live up to the hype that P&O was giving it. I recall one press 'review' (or rather advertorial) claiming it to be the most authentic American diner at sea. Yeah, right!🙄 We will though give it another chance in the next couple of weeks. Olive Grove also didn't live up to expectations. Again, we will try it again in the next couple of weeks, but only when menu A is on. We're on Iona in June, and would like to see how that Olive Grove compares.
  19. I would not class either the 6th Street Diner or Olive Grove as MDRs; to me they are just standalone restaurants that happen to be free.
  20. That's the one that led us to eat at Olive Grove. Unfortunately, when we did so it was the very disappointing menu B that was on offer.
  21. We have just been talking about P&O customer services in relation to different emails we've had from different advisors when it comes to an accessibility query we had; there are too many chefs and they are all not on the same page. The advisor is wrong. Perhaps they thought you were talking about getting a 20% discount off the deposit. I can assure you that, when pre-booking before you board, you do benefit from the 20% discount off your food bill when you dine.
  22. Yes, it does; on all the fleet. I don't think it is actually written down anywhere; we only found out by accident when we were Britannia last September and one of the restaurant hosts explained it to us.
  23. Yes, for those speciality dining restaurants you are able to book beforehand, you get 20% off, and also your Peninsula discount. So, Epicurean and Limelight Club, you pay £24 each for the former and 20% off the onboard price for the latter. Then you can use your Peninsula discount too. If you book Sindhu or Green & Co, for example, you pay £10 each upfront, less any Peninsula discount. When you dine they knock off 20% from your food bill, and then knock off the deposit.
  24. Yes John, twice, nearly thrice. In October we booked one of the LB sea view cabins on Arvia for a Mediterranean cruise in September 2024. We considered booking a select fare, but it was a lot more money with not that much OBC, and we thought, what's the point, as there are only four accessible LB cabins and they are all in the same location. On Saturday, when we booked next week's cruise, there were five available inside accessible cabins we could book on the saver rate. It appears not to matter if it is a balcony cabin. For my retirement cruise on Britannia last September we wanted a HD grade, and were asked if we wanted that as a saver rate; we had booked the kids in HD regular cabins on the saver rate. There are eight accessible HD cabins on Britannia and all of them are in locations we would have been happy with; so we would have booked a saver rate for ourselves but the additional cost of the select rate was almost offset by the regular and BLC OBC we received. We book direct, but I don't see why your TA can't access them; you'll be having a word, no doubt.
  25. We'll be taking Southern Comfort and probably dark rum; what are you bringing to the party?🥃😄
