  1. Thank you sandancer, we did quite fancy the Doubletree but the parking arrangements where you have to park in the long stay car park which I have read could be quite a walk to the hotel and that the shuttle bus is not reliable. I understand that the Britannia is quite dated but parking is at the hotel and it is just a short walk to the airport, we are still looking at the pros and cons for each of the hotels and hopefully book next week .
  2. Hi Thedriver23 We can check our hold luggage in between 4,30 -9pm the night before if you have an early morning flight the next morning, our flight departs 8.45 am, I did ring jet2 for confirmation of this service, she was very helpful, you can also Google jet2 twilight service where you can watch a YouTube video that talks you through the procedure, hope this helps you.
  3. Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to reply, we are staying in a hotel the night before ( Britannia or Doubletree ) so we can take advantage of using jet2 twilight check in , I did not want to book a hotel just in case flight was changed. Many thanks once again.
  4. Good morning we are on the Azura flying from Newcastle on the 31st December and went to print our boarding passes out, (which I am having difficulty with so have just done a screenshot of them) when I noticed on the arrival and final boarding time it states null , l have never come across this before and have done many p&o cruises where they have always stated a time, just wondering with all these strikes going ahead over the festive period that the flight may be changed or cancelled at the last minute. Has anyone else noticed this on their boarding pass ? Many Thanks
  5. We like the formal nights as well , such a shame for those who do but I fear this may be carried out throughout the fleet in the not too distance future.
  6. Thank you terrierjohn for your reply, yes our cruise on Iona last year was a 14 night one and can only remember there being 2 dress up nights, one each week, not sure why they have kept the 4 on Azura !
  7. I cannot find out in my cruise personaliser how many formal nights there are on Iona , it just says there will be time to dress up with our gala evenings, black tie nights and celebration nights. Our daughter has just come back of Azura they had 2 celebrations nights and 2 gala nights on their 14 night cruise, on the 4 nights men wore a tux or suit to go in the MDR and ladies a cocktail dress or long dress. we were on Iona last year but I can only remember 2 so called formal nights.
  8. Thank you howmuch Ours was mainly because TUI were so slow at check in, the queue for security was not too bad when we started queuing at check in but it soon started to build up, once through into security hall they worked very quickly and we were soon through but with only just under half an hour spare. Some friends went a few weeks later and it wasn’t too bad for them except they had the same wait time to collect their luggage.
  9. Has anyone flown from Leeds Bradford Airport recently for a Marella cruise, we have seen a cruise for the end of October going from there, we did one about may and the experience from Leeds Bradford airport was terrible, 2 .5 hours from checking in to getting through security , there where only 2 staff checking the passengers in , jet 2 had more staff and their passengers were getting through a lot quicker , and then on return we waited 1.5 hours for our luggage . thank you

    Check in

Thankyou Jeanlyon, I have just been speaking to a friend who uses a TA about 7 miles away and she said the same as yourself, they post it out to her as she does not drive and is not computer savvy, she has a good relationship with them and has used them for years . I am not sure why our local one closed as it was always busy, I suppose as with a lot of small businesses Covid was the reason.

    Check in

Thankyou David63, l nearly always try to use a TA but unfortunately our local one has now gone , the next nearest is quite some way. I have a printer so its not usually a problem for me, but I am low on ink and are waiting for a delivery of it which has been delayed , supply issues apparently, ! but l can use my daughters printer so it’s not an issue for me, just thinking of others who may not have these options. I am not sure if you can request them to be sent when booking, it’s been some time since I booked so cannot remember if it was offered. Many thanks to all for replying

    Check in

Thankyou all for your replies, it just seemed a little odd £1. Jeanlyon, I don’t like doing online unfortunately it seems that is the way it is all going and I am sure that I have filled all the details on line only to be asked for them again at embarkation !!! Do P&O still send the paperwork , luggage tags etc through the post, It does say to print them when I went to do the online check in , but for those who have not got a printer what do they do? for instance their luggage tags , just wondering if we have to do it all ourselves is this a way of reducing staffing levels even further !
  13. I have just been looking at what I need for on line check in, on the credit card details I usually just put the card details in, having done this many times with P&O , but this time I noticed in the top right corner an amount for a £1 which I know is not much but I have never seen this before , l know RCCL ring fence I think it’s £100 which is put back in your account if you don’t use it. I am probably being over cautious but has anyone who has done their online check in noticed this please .
  14. The glass house is at the moment serving food but no details as to when the epicurean will open. A shame about the epicurean as we have dined there quite a few times and on other ships and our relatives have not as this is their first P&O, they are quite disappointed as we have always said how we enjoyed it there, but other then that they are enjoying themselves.
  15. We have family on the Azura at the moment, the epicurean restaurant is closed and has been for a few weeks according to some of the staff , they have booked sindhu and the beach house , and have been to the glass house a few times.
  16. Does any one know if the speciality restaurants are now open please on Britannia, I have spoke to a rep and he could not give a definite answer.
  17. The cruise with confidence page states that the entry requirements were reviewed on the 29th June, the requirements were updated on the 14th June , does anyone know how often these pages are updated please, thank you
  18. Thank you both for replying, I have just looked at our account to see if I could book epicurean it just says book onboard, it is not till September so that could be the reason although I have just read a post were they have heard that some of the speciality restaurants may be closed ( Iona , which is the one we are on ! )for their upcoming cruise.
  19. Thank you , we have booked before on embarkation day and got a discount but I can’t remember how much it was , we really enjoyed both restaurants , we don’t go till late September , I will see if we can pre book, if not then it will be straight to customer service desk when we embark !
  20. Good Evening, I am just wondering if Sindu, and the Epicurean restaurants offer discount on the first and second night dinning as they did before the pandemic, has anyone been on recently who could tell us please. Thank you
  21. Thankyou for your reply , we are all booked and hopefully will be able to go , flying from a local airport that hasn’t seen much disruption.!
  22. Does any one know if the balcony is larger on the deluxe cabin, or is it just the room itself, I know on the explorer ship the deluxe balcony is larger. many thanks
