  1. That is a great tip! I booked “Iceland’s Natural Beauty” for August 2026, which only shows a Reykjavik Round Trip itinerary (didn’t know there were itinerary links for each sailing date). The itinerary I received in my Guest Statement had us in different ports on different days, sailing in the opposite direction. It mattered because of where we’d be for a total eclipse, so we changed to a different cruise. I’m glad to know it’s possible to confirm the actual itinerary for a date, without booking. I suggested that they have “Reykjavik Round Trip - Northbound” and “Reykjavik Round Trip - Southbound” buttons, as they do for other cruises that go back and forth between two ports. Someone called and talked to me about it at length — but it wasn’t changed.
  2. Thanks very much — good to know for future cruises.
  3. Yes, that could be it — I didn’t do that, and wish I had known. I received a letter in the U.S. Mail, and tried to use the code in Price & Build on the Viking Ocean website (that didn’t work). If I had been able to book it myself, I wouldn’t have been talked into adding the travel insurance for a cruise that isn’t until 2026. I don’t have any pre-existing conditions, so I could have waited, and had the option to cancel the cruise, if necessary.
  4. FYI, this FV424 promo code did NOT work for me online, even though I was eligible (had an existing booking). I had to call a Viking agent to book it, and it worked first time. Others might have the same experience.
  5. Same here, last month. We had a late flight (booked through Viking) from Reykjavik. Icelandair reps relieved us of our baggage at the cruise terminal, and then we were bussed to the Harpa Concert and Convention Hall. We were in a reserved restaurant, with snacks and drinks. There was time to walk and shop, if we wished. Then the same bus driver returned and took us to the airport, narrating the drive. We were pleased with the arrangements, although we weren’t able to learn what they would be until late in the cruise.
  6. I think the “closer to home sale” refers to the bottom part of the ad, below the lead-in “Also repositioning sailings,” referring to the Autumn repositioning of the expedition ships, with portions that visit ports in Canada and the U.S.
  7. I see others’ posts that say something like “Edited 6 hours ago by (original poster). I want to make a correction to one of my posts, but I can’t see how to do it. I have looked though over a year’s worth of topics in the Community Help Forum, but didn’t find this topic. Thanks!
  8. Hi, Linda. I live in Seattle, too, and will take the same cruise a month later! FYI, there’s a good Roll Call for your cruise on this site, started by MomOf3. Drill down to Viking Saturn, then look for the 5 July 2023 cruise and get to know your fellow passengers. I’ll watch it next July, in case people continue to post about the cruise in progress. Visiting Svalbard is on my husband’s bucket list, so we’re excited!
