Lobster roll at $13 is a bargain!

Last year on August 27 my stepfather and I were on the Niew Statendam. It was our last day. We were the first to arrive in the Lido at 6 am. It was still dark. We had window seats and watched the sun rise over Boston Harbor. Very scenic. We had a nice leisurely breakfast.

TiogaCruiser - Thanks for posting the info. My stepfather and I were on the Niew Statendam last August and we loved the Canaletto. I'm glad to know the chicken parmigiana will be on the menu every night, instead of just Sunday night. I ordered a half portion for my entree, but it was still a generous amount and the perfect size for me. My stepfather wanted the veal meatballs as an entree, but it was an appetizer. The waitress brought him an entree sized portion. Food and service were great.

spleenstomper - That's great that you will have laundry service. You're right - you don't have to worry so much about packing since the ship will do your laundry. I don't pull out clothes weeks in advance, but I have many lists of what I want to pack. Good luck with everything!! 😊

It has been said on one of these threads that there are lists in the crew quarters of passengers who opt out of gratuities. All the room stewards and waiters will know who did this. Supervisors provide the lists.

Hank - I hope things will improve for you. It is good that you reminded people to check their accounts on a daily basis. Years ago on the Veendam, they would slip the account statement under your door on the last night. Now we can start checking account statements on day 1, like you said.
