Marcia, I hope your visit with the surgeon goes well, and that you can begin raising your head.

Joy, my air fryer is not big enough to bake pies or cakes, and it is also not big enough to roast a chicken.  I still use my oven for things like that.  Until 2020, I never roasted a chicken or turkey in the oven but in the free standing roaster.  I switched to using the oven because the roaster never got the skin crispy.  Now, the oven really needs cleaning, but I keep putting it off.  I do use the air fryer often..

Terri, the bathroom looks great, especially the shower.

Denise, did they mention rinsing your mouth with warm salt water.  I was told to do that after oral surgery, and it helped relieve the pain, especially from the injection sites.

    Lenda

Lenda, no they did not. They said not to eat or drink for half an hour. I took some ibuprophen and the pain is starting to dwindle. Starting to feel a little better.

  2. We are at 29 days and counting!

Cruise day is coming up fast. So, what does one do on a rainy day? Start packing!

I am starting to pack things that I won't need within the next several weeks. My sister and I are going to go out last minute shopping. American Airlines had us pick lunch and dinner on two of our flights. I must say the description of the food is not that appealing, but it comes with the ticket so I will see what happens.

The excitement is building. I have been watching some YouTube vloggers and their impressions of Alaska. I am hoping to see whales. This should be an interesting trip with the four of us.

  3. Good morning, everyone! Thank you for the Daily and Fleet Report.

Lover all of the pictures, thank you for those.

Today it is a chilly and rainy day. Yesterday a storm came through and a tree came down on my across the street neighbor's property.

Because of the rain, I have decided to start packing for my cruise. With 29 days to go, I need to start.

Keeping everyone in my thoughts today.

Have a safe and healthy day.

  4. Back from the chiropractor. Straightened me out.

Back from the dentist. Having multiple procedures down to save what teeth I have left. Last year I had three wisdom teeth pulled. A few months ago, a root canal. Now working on treating my gingivitis. My teeth cost almost as much as a car by the time I am finished. Unfortunately, dental insurance does not cover a whole lot.

    Loving the wonderful pictures.

Watching the Juneau web cam as Carnival Miracle sails in.

These will be the longest 30 days ever!😁

  5. Good morning, everyone! Thank you for the Daily and Fleet Report. Looks like it will be a cool and rainy day today. Working from home today after running around all day yesterday.

A bottle of the wine of the day will be waiting for us in the cabin on embarkation day in May as we sail off to Alaska. I love prosecco!

32 days and counting. Planning on a final shopping trip this weekend as it will be a rainy one.

Everyone, have a safe and healthy day!

    Hi Denise.

I am looking forward to your Live From cruise review.

Pauline and I prefer warm weather cruises but are booked for a Norwegian Fjords cruise this year so your cruise is particularly interesting.

    Graham.

I am the opposite. I have an affinity for cooler weather places. The Norwegian Fjords is on my bucket list.

  7. Good morning and thank you for the Daily and Fleet report.

Work from home day for me, mostly grading assignments.

I like pigs in a blanket. Unless they are talking about actual pigs wrapped up in actual blankets.

Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day matters to me. I am of Armenian descent. My grandparents from my father's side escaped to the United States during that time. It wasn't until 1991 that the United States acknowledged that a genocide had taken place. It was more important to protect the relationship with Turkey. Many attempts were made previously recognize that the genocide occurred, however, the Turkish government refused to support it and those who backed Turkey would not pass any bills to recognize the event as a genocide. The slaughter of the Armenian people began well before 1915. It began as early as 1894. This part of history is not often taught but should be remembered.

Anyway, I think I might try the drink and perhaps the meal as they both seem rather tasty.

Everyone, have a safe and healthy day!

I just read this whole thread, you're making me want to go to Alaska again!  Our first cruise was Alaska in 2019.  We went early June, and the weather was great!  The flowers in Anchorage were beautiful, they said because of all the daylight hours.  We saw bears on top of Mt. Roberts, the scenery was beautiful.  Glacier Bay was awesome!  We did the train in Skagway,  then did a walking tour with Park rangers in the town, not sure if they are still doing that.  We had a wonderful time!  Can't wait to follow you as you begin your travels!  Karen

    You should just go! 😊

My boarding pass also shows 12:30 train departure, however, I am concerned because a Holland rep had previously told me the train will depart at 9:45 am. I only see a 9:45 departure from Anchorage to Whittier on the Alaska Railroad schedule.

This has been confusing to me as well. I have a contact who lives in Anchorage and works in the travel industry and my TA is located on the West Coast and is a cruise specialist in the area. Both tell me that the cruise train transfer is not the same as the Alaskan Railroad time. I intend to find out more.
