Tradition dining: over the years - if we know in advance that we would not be at the table - we have always told our table mates as they us.
If we made a last minute change in plans we would attempt to seek them out to let them know. It is simply being courteous - right?
Of course life goes on ......
Lately we have been doing My Time Dining

Is there an Ice Show? If so, when ?
Are formal nights #2 and #5 ?
Are the evening shows at the usual 7 & 9 times?
Thanks

Kris, I was reading about Mobile Passport last night and user comments were reporting that the MP lines were even shorter than the Global entry lines at this point in time. Of course, as more people learn about MP, this will change but as long as the lines are shorter than the non-GE and MP lines, that is fine by me.
Mobile Passport is not like Global entry, which is a pre-screening process and requires an in-person interview at the airport. Mobile Passport simply allows you to fill out and transmit the same information that you would have to fill in at the kiosks in advance of arriving at the kiosks.
Mobile Passport is very smooth at the Seattle airport. What others ?

Thanks for all the input. I like to be Prepared ! Have 6 yr old with us - first time traveling with a little one.

Formal nights were on days 2 and 5.
Ice shows were during the day around 2 and 4 PM - not much choice as the shows are given by muster station - don't know how much stand-by room there was.
No suite lounge on Explorer and didn't go to the CL. The DL is a much better location anyway with great view - the place you want to be in Alaska.
Biker, who was surprised by the lack of guests in the DL during the cruise.
Thanks
I've found in past Alaskan cruisers that there are not a lot of diamond/diamond+ cruisers.
Can you recall @ when are the evening shows scheduled? Usual @ 6;30 / 9 pm ?
Any other comments appreciated. Been awhile since on this class of RCL

We will be on The Explorer in August with our family. I would like to plan some dining times in advance. Does anyone have copies of the current Cruise Compass OR could tell me when are formal nights? I;m thinking Day #2 & 5 ?
Also, on which evening is the Ice Show? and what are the times?
Any comments on Suite and/or Diamond lounges?
Thank you

Thanks everyone. The Emergency contact was in the documents but not where it Popped up at you.
Trying to find a flight any where was the problem: expensive and over crowded with only the dreaded middle seat Surprisingly BA had 2 business seats using miles on ONE flight to Pisa 2 days before Quest arrives. Figured that was meant to be. Found some quaint hotels !
Will miss those days on the ship but....Life Happens.

Life happens. Due to family emergency we will not be able to board the Quest 18 Apr in Barcelona.
The best we can do is arrive in Pisa and meet the ship in Livorno
BUT is is possible to board there??
Frustrating ... there is no one at Azamara to help us on a Sunday !! Tried every number I can locate only to hear they are closed on Sunday
Thought travel was 24/7

Hi Familygoboston,
I noticed your other post, and I'm glad you're sharing your blog with us. I plan to post a reply in the other thread.... but please do not hesitate to use the alert triangle, if you feel anything requires my immediate attention.
A couple of interesting tidbits : Did you know that Azamara Quest's name when she belonged to Pullmantur (prior to Azamara), was Blue Moon ?
Looking forward to your future installments !
She was orginally the "R7" when part of the Renissance cruise line - bankrupt right after 9/11 We sailed on her sister "R2" in 2000

Congratulations! Looking forward to departing on the Quest on the 18th, less than two weeks to go!
Hey Hope to meet you on board? Are you doing a B2B?
-
Must ask: "What is your problem?" Your comment seems extreme

Cookies ??? Where ?

Almost forgot. I put my nice tops and DH's dress shirts in packing cubes. It really helps keep them from sliding and getting crunched.
Love packing cubes Also use Space bags to compact items

I am allergic to feathers / Down so I request BEFORE that our bedding be allergy free. Works and so much better than asking for the bedding to be switched out on boarding day. Maybe you could request those firm pillows in advance

I wouldn't dream of walking out of my cabin in a bath robe for a cuppa or anything else. Personally I think it looks awful, but people do it.
Agree but have found myself doing it on a river cruise along with others. Of course I only had to walk a few meters not up a flight of stairs.
If I request morning coffee delivery I feel compelled to be up when it arrives. Not a problem in a divided suite which CC is not. But that cuppa 1st thing in the morning is SUPER important.
RCL has coffee makers in the suites which is great !

Thanks ! Helps with those items that wrinkle when you wear them. Packing is getting more difficult. ONe has to be creative.
My Packing Room is about to OPEN

A amuse that there are irons in the laundry rooms - right ?
Not that I like to iron but do hate wrinkles  !
