Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Just in case someone else has similar questions - I did end up receiving the unsuccessful email a bit later today. Ah well, perfectly happy with booked room!
  2. Seeing some weird stuff while checking my MoveUp for a sailing this weekend.. If I go to the MoveUp website directly from Celebrities website, it will take me directly to my offer which at the top shows "Pending" but further down says "The time period to modify or cancel your offer has passed.modify.details.offer.expiration.past.SUITE_3BEDROOM. Additionally, if I click the very small link to "see other offers", it says "Not eligible for upgrade". I'm assuming that's due to the sailing being in 2 days though? The part I'm very curious on is if this (see screenshot) means my bid is ACTUALLY still pending, or if it was denied and the email just hasn't arrived yet.. Notice how at the top it says "Ineligible Offers" but the 2nd one still has "Pending" greyed out.. Has anyone seen this before? Given both ICs are sold out, I'm expecting the upgrade to fail..
  3. Are they still sending out the "you've been outbid!" emails at all? I saw them once a year or two ago, and that was it. Curious if they stopped..
  4. They dropped free gratuities I believe.. at least I didn't see any for RS/EV/PH/IC mentioned anymore. Previous PH/EV sailings I immediately saw gratuities mentioned as included, for any sailings now, it's been removed from the "perks".
  5. Got it - thanks! I had thought in the past I saw sold out sailings still, so that's a relief to hear other than the fact it's gonna be cozy 🙂
  6. Tried searching, but wasn't able to find anything specific so my apologies if this has been covered repeatedly. I noticed the Apex Nov 25th sailing is no longer showing up on Celeb's website, though my reservation is still showing up fine. Some very old threads/google results I found mentioned this can happen when a ship is chartered, but typically that's much further out (1+ year) vs. ~40 days. Anyone have an idea why the sailing might have vanished? Dreading getting a notification it's canceled as it would be a massive hit to any vacation plans for this year..
  7. Did the minimum bid change as well? Or only the maximum? I've not seen the minimum change before! Just checked and still the same minimums for my upcoming cruise, sadly..
  8. I have not seen the prices change at all on 4 cruises (from 2021 until present) unfortunately..
  9. We found (albeit by accident, and then to our advantage later on) that Beyond's elevators actually let you UN-select a floor! It's awesome if you hit the wrong floor and want to quickly change it, but here's the catch. If you're heading down and hit floor 5, and someone else gets on and hits 5.. guess what - neither of you are going to floor 5! This is especially amusing (or annoying) given there's buttons on both sides of the elevator. Compound that with there being a slight (1-2 second) delay in registering the touch for a floor AND a delay in un-selecting a floor and it leads to interesting elevator rides.
  10. Glad it's such a consistent experience for everyone, including with Gineyls (not)! Which suite were you in? In an email from her on Nov 19, she said: "Also, Le Voyage is complimentary to all our Premium suite guest. However, Le Voyage tasting, Chef's table and Dinner on the Edge are not." She submitted the requests for the dining times to the ship, we never had a charge for Le Voyage, nor saw anything in our planner until Day 1 as usual. Incoming rant... I've noticed the dining experience is very washy unless the waiter knows the suite numbers (not expecting them to of course!). It's a polarizing experience in the specialty restaurants going off cabin number vs. if they look up cabin on computer first. Very quickly goes from no names and asking about premium drink package, etc. to last names and no mention of bills at all 😂 We don't worry about it other than when we get a surprise bill (such as Raw on 5 on Edge that was quickly resolved), but even then it's very easy to take care of. The experience overall (non-suite/suite/upper-suite) has always been much better in my opinion when the host confirms everything up front and informs the waiter, avoids a lot of the questions and overall feels more smooth. Once onboard at Le Voyage, our waiter explained the costs for both tasting and a la carte, however towards the end of the dinner he came back and mentioned that because of upper suite it was complimentary, and if we wanted any additional entrees before moving to desert. To his credit, his professionalism and attitude (funny, personable, etc.) never changed one bit before or after he apparently checked cabin, which was fantastic.. I'm there to enjoy and have fun, and it's much easier to do when they're just being themselves!
  11. Bit of a late reply, but maybe that was due to Move Up? Was jsut on Dec 4-11 Beyond sailing booked directly in EV and Ley Voyage (à la carte) was included, however the wine pairing/tasting menus were not. Another anecdotal bit from both Edge PH and Beyond EV is the additional entree charge mentioned in the menu for Fine Cut is also covered which is great if you want a bit of surf & turf.
  12. She was on vacation until the 22rd. I'm sure she's likely working through all of her emails, so hopefully you'll hear from her soon!
  13. At least for the Beyond, two are assigned. It could be because Terrikka and Ginelys had/have vacations this month, but I can't say for sure.
  14. ConciergeRachel@celebrity.com - Keep in mind that's for the Infinity only.
  15. Very interesting, and MUCH different experience than we had on Harmony traveling as a couple in the RLS and with our Genie. Sure, he was looking after the other guests but if we ever needed something, it was done. There were a few cases where we could see he was spending a lot more time with his other guests so we didn't have as much of a "personal" connection, but the level of service he provided us completely masked that "bias" in his attention. For example, I sent him a message asking if we could possibly get lunch at Izumi. He said it was closed for the sushi making class, but would check. 10 minutes later he asks if we can be there ASAP (was towards the end of lunch time), so we headed down. Personally met by him and the Izumi manager who put us at a table and he (the Izumi manager) acted as our waiter. Another day, my wife wanted to see about doing the skating, he again was able to get us in even though they were having a private session. I would echo what a lot of others have said about RCL's Genies, sometimes you get "lucky" and have a fantastic one that will do absolutely anything and everything in their power (including asking for favors) to fulfill your requests. We actually had a much different experience with our Butler on the Edge in a PH. While he was great, there were some hiccups, confusion, and a few other issues along the way. At the end of the day, I think the experience for either RCL's Genies/Star Class or Celebrity Butlers comes down to their service, and your working with them. If either of those parts are lackluster, you end up with an entirely different experience than someone else! All that said, we chose to go back to Celebrity because comparing the experience between RCL in an RLS and Celebrity in a PH on the Edge, it was just a MUCH nicer experience with Celebrity all around - ignoring the Genie/Butlers. Just my two cents!
