  1. If you look at 2:30 in the vid, the electronic display has a D in it...thats coach D (we call them coaches, not cars!). If you have reserved a particular seat, they usually put a little 'reserved' ticket on the seat top to (hopefully) stop anyone else sitting there. Simon
  2. I'd recommend the East Coast route...much more scenic (especially north of England/Scotland section) if you are sitting on the right hand side of the train. Found this vid which might help decide between LNER and Lumo Simon PS He only changes trains at Newcastle to show the difference...you would go through on one train.
  3. According to where you want to go, you can use Kew Bridge, Brentford or even Syon Park...they are all on the same line. Have a look on Google Earth. Theoretically, I suppose you could change at Clapham Junction, but i) not all trains stop there and ii) its a right pain to change platforms there 'cos you have to go up and down stairs. As the whole trip is about an hour, I'd go into Victoria. Simon
  4. Best way is the train. Use https://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/planjourney/search to search for a train. You want to go from Gatwick Airport (GTW) to Kew Bridge (KWB). Basically, the Gatwick train will take you into Victoria station, change trains, then back out to Kew Bridge which is on Kew Bridge Road. Cost £16.60 one way...take about an hour. Where do you want to go on Kew Br. Rd.? BTW, there is a train strike Saturday 13th August if you are travelling then. Simon
  5. Thanks...is there a seperate queue for reserved seats? Simon
  6. Hi Roger We're doing the Soller train on Sat 20th Aug. It appears if you book on their website, you get a voucher which you have to exchange for a ticket at the station. Is that correct? If so, is there a queue that 'jumps' the main ticket queue, as we will have a reservation? Tried getting an answer to this online, but can't find this particular bit of info! Thanks Simon
  7. For yourselves, you need a COVID travel pass from the NHS app (on your smartphone) or from the NHS website...just search for it on the site. Apparently the downloaded pass on your phone is good enough, but I've printed them off in case of no wifi, power cut, earthquake etc!. The vaccine card you got when you had your jab IS NOT good enough. Simon
  8. Pedant alert!!! Its a ship!! As the old saying goes, you can put a boat on a ship...you can't put a ship on a boat. Simon
  9. I remember last year, a lot of people were recommending using the multi storey car park in West Quay. No problems leaving the car there for 7 or 14 days, but I can't find the posts now. Perhaps JB could flesh this out a bit more as he is a local! JB...the floor is yours!! Simon
  10. The problem is, we all know, that no insurance company 'likes' to pay out!! Best of luck Simon
  11. Phoned the TA and they sorted it...all OK now. Thanks for the comments.
  12. In the good old days (!), there was a button on your account page to add a reservation to your account if it didn't show up. Just tried to do this again, and though it says 'Link a missing cruise', once you put the number in, it links that reservation to a previous one (as if two or more groups were going on the same cruise). Anyone know how I can get this new seperate cruise to show up, or have I got to have the joy of hanging on the phone to RCI?!! Thanks Simon
  13. Thanks...I've done the deal with Staysure. Fingers crossed we don't need to claim! Simon
  14. Just booked a cruise for later in the year and just wondering who everyone is using for insurance at the moment. I'm leaning towards Staysure, (but I've got to phone them tomorrow to clear up a query!). Any other recommmendations? Simon PS Also posted on P&O board
