  1. We have done the Key a number of times, we mostly only consider it when the daily price is equivalent to the daily internet cost and definitely at or below $20. For us we do enjoy some of the other perks but you really have to weigh all its potential advantages to its cost based on a particular cruise. When cruising on Odyssey of the Seas trans-atlantic in 2022 we arrived in Fort Lauderdale and the crew had to report to immigration. Things were a little chaotic as everything became short handed including moving luggage into the terminal. The ship kept emptying passengers into the upper level of the terminal where we were all held for over an hour until we were allowed downstairs to retrieve our arriving luggage. Suites, Pinnacles and Key’s were allowed to proceed through immediately as their luggage was prioritized. Unfortunately we didn’t purchase the Key that time. Probably an isolated incident but it did happen.
  2. Totally awesome you enjoyed this cruise and the cruise experience. There is a lot to be said for the smaller ships and the amenities they offer… The most important thing is it was, memorable and a great experience for you. Take care …
  3. Thank you, but does that apply to liquor purchased in the ship’s duty free as well ? can’t picture Royal Caribbean allowing alcohol revenue to slip through their fingers….. hoping it is a thing as we have a b2b scheduled.
  4. So if I read this correctly, anything we buy in the duty free liquor store aboard ship on leg 1 of a b2b will be delivered to us on the last day of that cruise and is ours to use throughout the 2nd leg of a b2b ?
  5. Having issues in searching for cruises here…
  6. We are Diamond, almost Diamond + (regrettably only 6 points away) at time of sailing. Isn’t there an opportunity to buy bottles of wine on board at a discount or is that something that varies cruise by cruise?
  7. Jewel of the Seas, August Transatlantic for 16 days. Is it still considered 1 cruise and only 2 bottles of wine or does the extended duration allow for more?
  8. The last Radiance Class we were on was Serenade of the Seas, we will be on a 16 day out of Amsterdam on Jewel of the Seas in August. Can’t remember if that class has options for pizza, salads, small sandwiches, etc… Basically dining between meals or something late night. Thanks in Advance…
  9. We had a panoramic suite on Independence of the seas, got caught in a storm…. a little more motion and sounds as waves crash into the bow. We drank champagne and stared at mother natures display of wind, rain, waves and lightning…. it was incredible. The only downside for us was we had to remove the wooden hangers from the closet as they were clanging together endlessly. We loved the awesome views as our suite above the bridge was on the corner and looked both forward and port side.
  10. Thank you for the abundance of advice and replies. It seems by some replies it was almost a walk down memory lane and days gone by. Nevertheless for most it’s a common bond, the joy of travel, the open sea and the love of cruise ships. Very grateful this was an informative and civil thread as we are all here to support one another. God bless and safe travels to you all….
  11. Thank you…. Just finished a cruise that when the points get added in a few days we will be 169 points. The cruise in August will add 16 more points, hence D+ territory post cruise …
  12. We will become Diamond Plus on our next cruise in August, curious to know are they still doing lapel pins and is there one one for Diamond Plus?
  13. Very happy the current program meets your expectations, I mean that sincerely. I don’t expect 5 star so no disappointment there, as with everything service oriented “your mileage may vary” so to speak. To that end I am only respectfully voicing my opinion, which is one reason these boards exist.
  14. There were a few items that we found fairly decent but overall our experience was it was just okay. The staff on Royal ships are still exceptional and are a shining spot for the cruise experience. Suffice to say different people have different dining experiences as well as expectations. Since the start up a few years back we have completed 20 cruises, not as many as others of course but enough to make comparisons on food being served. Truly happy you enjoy your dining experience… Take care
  15. Just stepped off Mariner of the Seas…. In all honesty the food was at best like a “Golden Corral” quality. While I have been loyal to Royal, I have to say mediocrity is where the bar is now set. For everyone still defending Royal Caribbean’s downscaling of the food you either don’t remember the quality of the food 10 years ago or you are okay with substandard meals. The pendulum has shifted too far in one direction and In my opinion they will drive the people who support RCI the most away for good…. Squeeze us for every dollar now but remember we are shareholders too and vote with our wallets.
  16. Spoke with an officer today and he said while Royal Caribbean will occasionally do filming like that it definitely wasn’t them….. he did however say that there was other reports and most likely it was a very skilled passenger getting footage…. also added call right away if it happens tonight.
  17. About 4 hours out from Cozumel….. Watched it from 9th deck balcony, about 50 feet aft and 50 feet above. Also 30 feet abreast of the ship with a light on the bottom
