Are you sure ?
Not possible to get a card on the last cruises I have been on.
I asked at customer services out of interest. I can't see any possible benefit of a card over the Medallion.
We were given a key card when my wife and I both locked our medallions inside our state room. A comedy of errors on our part.

Slow but functional on the Regal last month. Was able to do everything I needed to do but with a great deal of patience. Was very glad we bought European SIM’s so we at least had good speeds in port and close to land.

Are they still filming onboard Regal?
From what I’ve heard it’s supposed to continue filming through July.

It’s being filmed right now on the Regal.

Thanks CruzerDeb, for the great report and pictures.
Did you by chance take a picture of any drinks price lists? Did you notice anyone drinking Peroni beer?
Peroni was available last month when we were aboard. My first time trying it and I was quite impressed with it.

As others have said, check your junk mail folder, that’s where mine went. Just noticed it today and tried to fill it out but it said it had expired.

CruzerDeb, when you are able to post again can you please tell us if there were Covid tests done on those passengers that were staying onboard for the next segment to Barcelona? Thank you.

Aaron Hawkins has gone on leave from the Regal as off June 28th and been replaced with Dan France. He’s apparently new to Princess but has been with other cruise lines. First impressions weren’t good but we’ve slowly warmed up to him. We found out last night he’s a very accomplished opera singer.

Yes, one of the crew members told us today he had been chosen to appear on the show and was quite pleased to be participating.
Update to this: was told today that the film crew are boarding in Barcelona tomorrow.

We will be aboard Regal from Civitavecchia to Barcelona (B2B) next month so Athens will be our mid point. If we decide to stay on board whilst docked at Athens do we still need a Covid test beforehand?
I believe everyone who is continuing to Barcelona has to do it. They would have no way to police all who gets off on Athens and who doesn’t.

Hello. Thank you so much for your responses. We are also flying in from Montreal on AC, and arriving to Barcelona on the Wednesday morning. If I could ask where in the BCN airport did you have your Covid tests done (I.e. was it the same terminal that you arrived in?) Our flight will arrive in Terminal 1.
Much appreciate all of the info that you have provided.
The testing is done in terminal one close to the checkin desks. We flew Westjet which uses terminal two so we had to take the shuttle to the other terminal. If you’re going to do it there I would suggest you prebook. It’s €30 if you’ve made a reservation and €50 for walk ups.

Currently onboard, Everything has been great so far including the food and service. We spent two afternoons in the sanctuary and loved it so not sure what the complaint is there.
Internet is slow but you can always accomplish what you need to do. It was out one evening for three or four hours but other than that has always worked although slowly.
If anyone has specific questions ask away and I’ll try to answer after our Sorrento excursion today.

If you had already taken a C19 test within 2 days of boarding the ship (vaccinated plus double boosted), did you still have to take a C19 test prior to boarding?
We boarded in Barcelona on 05/21. We flew in three days early (arrived in BCN on the Wednesday morning) and did our antigen tests right at the airport upon arrival. They were accepted by Princess with no issues at embarkation on Saturday morning, we did not have to retest.

Also going to be on the Regal for 21 nights (Barcelona to Barcelona) in August. Biggest stressor at this point is the testing. Specifically, we know we need to test before boarding in Barcelona, and as of now before arriving in Athens on day 14. Does anyone know, if we would also need to test before arriving in Civitavecchia (Rome) on Day 7?
Thank you.
No testing was done before arriving in Rome on 05/28 however it was done on 06/03 (Mykonos port day) for those that were continuing on the Athens to Barcelona leg. Those that tested positive were isolated on the port side of dolphin deck.

This question is for @Alanr204 or @wowzz or anyone currently on the Regal who might know the answer to the following question. Have you by chance heard what was mentioned in post #5 regarding what was said recently on the referenced vlog? Specifically:
“Regal hasn't been covid-testing anyone to get back to the US if their flight is after 12 noon.”
I checked and our Princess-booked flight on AA leaves out of Barcelona back to the USA at 1:40 pm on disembarkation day. I realize our flight isn’t until July 23. It just seems weird the Regal isn’t providing the needed antigen tests for passengers flying back to the USA on disembarkation day if their flight leaves after 12 noon. Just looking for confirmation or if the vlogger misspoke.
Sorry Ken, I’m Canadian so I haven’t any information on this as testing is not required to return to Canada.

The games she plays uses minimal bandwidth. If you get a chance could you run an Ookla speed test and let me know what the speed was. Thanks!

An update on the Regal position.
It appears that on the day prior to arrival in Athens, all guests are being tested. (Greek government requirement)
What’s ironic about this is that there are two stops in Greece (Heraklion and Mykonos) before arriving in Athens. If it’s a Greek government requirement why are the tests not done prior to Heraklion? Only the guests carrying on to Barcelona are tested, not those disembarking in Athens.

Does anyone know the cost for Covid testing in Athens to board Princess?
Princess is doing it at the dock for free. This is the only port in Europe where this is the case.
-
So is it three days prior including embarkation day or not including? In other words if we’re boarding on a Saturday can the test be done on the Wednesday?

The title should read " Testing no longer free in Barcelona and ROME" .
You are correct, my bad
-
Back to $60 per person again. But can now be three days ahead instead of just one.
Seems like it’s still free in Athens as the Greek government is requiring testing one day in advance.

The health protocols page has been updated and Princess will now do complimentary antigen tests on embarkation day in Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and Athens.
Upated to say: this also includes European cruises on the Island Princess and Enchanted Princess

Lucca is amazing. tuscanybus.com has a very inexpensive tour to there from Livorno, stopping in Pisa on the way back.
