MSC sometimes decorate the ship, but most of the time they use the massive screen to do christmas things on. The ship may stop at every port to pick up passengers, but that won't affect your itinerary. Most of the ports you will visit have christmas decorations and markets in the towns/cities. The ship shouldn't be maximum capacity, probably around 5000/6000 guests as it's a week too soon for most school holidays.

I hope they do the screens but also on board - that would be awesome. I know about the itinerary, done my research. It was just more for on board. Hope it's not at capacity, as it could be very crowded inside.

I’m sailing Seashore on December 10 and hoping there will be some decorations up.  EM

I imagine it definitely will be!

Did the Meraviglia in early December and it was decked out --- trees and decorations everywhere.  It was charming.

On the ship there were decorations and trees and the staff had their Xmas hats on. They had a snow party on the pool deck and there were games and Xmas huts to get your mulled wine etc from. It was really cold but they made an effort and lots of people went. When we went the year before it was on the Magnifica and it was the last week of November but into the 1st week of December and the staff were starting to put the decks up on the ship that week.

I hope you have lovely time 🎅

Thank you, to you both. I've heard mixed from different people. But both your answers sound promising, so I'm really looking forward to it now. I think my mum will be super excited if there's xmas huts on deck too, or on board.

It is a fantastic ship. Dont miss the shows every evening in the Carussel Lounge on deck 7. 21.30and 23.00. If you not are in the Yacht club the bar on deck 18 the Sky Lounge is a good place with a fantastic view.

Nice partys in the Galleria most of the evenings.

Very much looking forward to it. The sky lounge looks like a perfect spot for an evening drink for me.

  4. Hi,

I am sailing on the Euribia on the 15th December and have been hearing different things about what MSC do to make the boat feel Christmassy/festive. I have seen a post on another ship that they turn the pool deck into little huts and have hot chocolate, bratwurst and other festive treats on there. I can't find anything concrete, but I am wondering if anyone else has done the same itinerary and noticed that they do things like this during the month of December.

    Thank you

The answer to your question about the condition of the sea....flat calm, raging storm or anything in between. It's Britain we don't have bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

At that time of the year and in that area, the weather and the seas can be brutal, just be prepared for anything.

Thank you both. I'm less worried than I probably should be, but imagine it to be quite rough regardless

I just departes two days ago after a week on the Euribia, in the yacht club.

Beautiful ship, the best staff I've experienced on any cruise. Including the non yacht club staff. The buffet selection and quality was fantastic. Like on Celebrity or NCL 10+ years ago

The service was great everywhere. It took never more than one minute from seated until a bar server came to the table in the buffet.

I had a better experience this time than on the Bellissima in september, also yacht club, that time the capacity was 60%, this time 100%.

The wine bar is not included in any package.

    Go for it!

That's as good a review as I'm going to get, so thank you.

I watched some videos and seen the buffet looks quite extensive, which I'm looking forward to.

    Really excited to go now!

La Havre. Bayeaux museum and the tapestry or Rouen and the cathedral there.  I would choose the Tapestry with only time for one but both are historic

Brugge.  Stunningly beautiful town to walk about.  Canal boat rides to see sights.

In La Havre I think we might go to Honfleur as Paris is too far away. Rouen will be good, just FAR away.

Brugge is amazing, been before, my Mum hasn't - so looking forward to that

  8. Booked a cruise a week before cruise and we sail from Southampton. This is the first cruise we are doing that's not in the summer, so I am wondering what the seas are like and if it will get very shaky.

This will be the first time going to Northern Europe on a cruise (Hamburg, Brugge, Le Havre, Rotterdam) has anyone done these places, if so, any recommendations on things to do other than the markets.

    Thanks!

  9. I've just booked a Christmas Markets cruise, and wanting to find some feedback and information about the ship. I know the ship has only just started sailing, but trying to build some sort of knowledge for it.

Has anyone sailed on it yet, and if so how was your experience? The wine place looks good, but I don't think that's included in any drinks packages, so I'm not sure.

I have been on the MSC World Europa and will be on the Seaview in September.

Secondly, I've only ever cruised during summer times, so not sure what to expect on a winter cruise - I'm assuming it's going to be rougher seas.

  10. We got off the Europa in May and the dress code for MDR wasn't really followed at all, I mean a few people turned up in sliders, shorts and a vest. Each to their own, it didn't affect me at all. But I wouldn't worry about the dress code.

Gala Night, not many people do it as it's usually the day at sea and when people are getting off the next day. White Party had more involvement from people

Sorry to bother you, but one last question since I don't see your review mention this.  How was the customer service?  If you have an issue, are they helpful?

We were on the Meraviglia 5 years ago and costumer service was awful.

Just to jump on this, we couldn't get in our room. Went to customer service, said someone will be there. Went back 20 minutes later, still nothing, then someone came and they were very apologetic.

Other than that, everyone seemed very helpful

Not sure what boat. But I have sailed Divina, Seaside, Mergivila and worn jean and polos or shirt in MDR all the time. Never a problem

It's the World Europa, and it will be gala night. The other nights, I am not too bothered with
