I was thinking this, but It means packing an extra pair of evening shoes - that's all, and pants that match it.

Our Gala night is the night before we get off the ship, so putting everything back in our suitcase ready will be a hassle. Are you allowed in with Polo and Jeans, or not? I don't want to be "scruffy" or under dressed, and definitely not standing out or feeling awkward. Thanks in advance!

We're hoping to do the same, we are supposed to arrive at 13:00 but we check out at 11:00. Do you think they'll let us get on?

Yes, but you have to log in for them on the device initially with the wifi ID printed on your key card. I was able to do this for my husband on our sailing a couple weeks ago when somehow the free wifi included with our booking gave me 2 devices and him 0.

This is what I'm referring to, it's cheaper for me to purchase two devices package then two 1 device packages. Just wondering how it would work, as no point spending the extra if it's not needed.

Just a quick one to revive this.

Will they stop me coming in the MDR in Jeans and a Polo for the Gala night, just because we leave the day after Gala night so don't want to be trying to put a shirt and pants in my back last minute.

Here's my upgrade story.  I was in a YC interior on the 5/12 Europa sailing out of Barcelona.  I booked it way in advance and paid an insanely low $1,856 all-in as a single.  I bid the lowest upgrade price possible ("weak" on the offer gauge) for a YC deluxe suite which was $550 per person, $1,100 total (singles are charged double).  My bid was accepted today at 14 days out.

 

This tells me there's no rhyme or reason to the upgrade process.  I've been watching and there have been 4 YC1's left to sell for a couple of weeks now. That means YC1's are close to sold out; at least on the Barcelona><Barcelona portion of the round robin.  Right now, the only cabins available on the entire ship are my old YIN, 4 YC1's, and 1 YC4.  I'm guessing a YC1 was upgraded to a higher YC category which is why there are 4 YC1's still left after my upgrade.  

 

There have to be people in Aurea balconies and suites, heck even regular balconies, that booked after I did that paid multiples more than what I paid.  And I'm sure plenty of them bid on YC upgrades at far more than my $550 per person.  So me getting upgraded ahead of others who paid more originally and offered more to upgrade makes no sense.  I'm happy my upgrade went through, especially because YINs on Europa are the size of closets, but it's odd that it did and makes you question the upgrade logic.  

By that logic, ours hasn't been accepted if we sail in fewer days than you. Maybe it's the YC they want to make the money off, as ours just a better room. Shame really as we are sailing next friday from Bareclona on the Europa.

Still no upgrade for us, 6 days out. 3 more and then we know for definite. We still haven't received our documents yet either 😄

Really brilliant upgrade @SirJackDaniels. I have my fingers crossed for this upgrade, but just want the peace of mind more than anything.

I just wish there was a way to have a better indication, I can't even make mock bookings on MSC website to see.

24 days out, wow. We go in 10 days and heard nothing, our arrow was on the top end of good. I just want to plan it around the new room, but waiting and waiting - it's a pain haha

I am just doing a mock booking, that makes perfect sense. The bus is just outside of the train station, I suspect?

It looks beautiful the town of Taormina.

I just can't justify over 120 Euros for two phones for a weeks worth of Wifi.

As long as you have a device capable of hot-spotting (many android phones) you can do it. iPhones don't support hot-spotting.

 

Edit: I should clarify that iPhones don't support wifi hot-spotting. They can hot-spot if they have cell signal, but not if they only have wifi signal.

Ah that is a shame, we both have iPhones, so this ultimately wouldn't work would it 😞
