  1. That is very scary and glad to hear you are ok.

As a side note, please see your PCP and discuss, you may have dysphagia. My 26 year old son has it and it is very random and comes out of nowhere. He is now on medication that has controlled it and he has not had an episode in a few years.

Thank you, I will check in to that.

  2. Hi,

I went on a cruise on the Conquest in January. It was a 6-day Grand Turk, Nassau, and Amber Cove out of Fort Lauderdale. The cruise was going great. We were having a great time. When we arrived in AC we went ate breakfast at the ship buffet before we left the ship. I ate the buffet, eggs, bacon, sausage and Canadian bacon. After breakfast we decided to explore the port. After my meal,l I felt like I couldn't swallow.

We walked around for a few hours and I was feeling ill. It came to a point that I felt like my throat was closing. I don't have any allergies that i'm aware of. I started going down hill, where I couldn't swallow. I started throwing up water and felt like something was trapped in my throat. I couldn't believe this was happening. We decide to go back to the ship, because I was getting weak. I made it to the hospital and spent the next 12 hours there throwing up, getting shots in my stomach. trying to feed me sprite. Nothing was working. I decided to go to my cabin and just throw up in a trash can. I asked my girlfriend to go get me soup. I thought maybe that would push it through.

When she left, I grabbed a bottle of water and went in to the shower. I prayed to God after I downed the water it would pass. Well I started downing the bottle of water and my throat cleared. I was so re leaved. Anyway, after the cruise I contacted my Insurance Company UHC and they said they couldn't help me cause it was international waters. So, I turned to my travel insurance through Carnival and they paid the 1k bill in full . This is the first time I talk about this. However, be careful what you chew and swallow. I fill blessed. Can't wait till my next cruise.

  3. We booked with Iguana Mama. After talking to Carnival passengers they got ripped off. Iguana Mama has great service. You hike up halfway.(Free Bottled Water" Then you have the option to go to the 27 falls or stay with 12 waterfalls. You get buffet and open bar at the end This excursion is rough and dangerous. Trust me, I been there and done that. If you want pics let me know. However, we had fun and enjoyed the excursion.

  4. Jeff is one funny guy. The other comedy club managers generally dont add anything to the show. And Jeff goes around looking for empty seats so as many passengers as possible can get in.:)

I disagree. How many times have you seen Jeff the unfun dudes act? On our second time seeing him, he was stale and felt like he was rude. We avoid the guy now. I wish they would put him on another ship. Just my opinion.

  5. I'm approaching final payment on my cruise. Say if I buy 12 cards, When applying payment on Carnival's website, I see you can apply a gift card. They will ask you for each bar code on each card or there is a limit? I was wondering how that worked.

    TIA

Anyone have the answer for this?

  6. Thanks for all the info!

Just curious, did more people dress up for dinner in the dining room going out of New Orleans compared to other ports? We are staying a few days in NO and noticed that some of the nicer restaurants have dress codes. Wondering if the local passengers/other passengers tend to dress up more since they're used to dressing up in the city.

We usually now bring the bare minimum for Carnival elegant nights since many times in the past we felt very overdressed.

We will just skip the fancy restaurants in NO if jackets/dresses aren't seen much in the dining room on the ship and save on the luggage weight.

    Thanks!

We have sailed on the Dream twice and I haven't notice any difference in attire compared to other ships.

  7. On the Breeze, I was only 5 cabins down from the door to the hallway of where our cabin was which led out to the automatic door onto the Lido pool area. We never had a problem. I only heard a little noise form the Lido deck itself when we sat out on the balcony..mostly the bass from the music.

I really loved this area and would book it again in a heartbeat. Being that close to all the action was great and convenient, especially when we wanted to take our refillable mugs and get more ice or soda from the dispenser or just grab a quick snack/ice cream, etc.

What cabin number were you in?

  8. After our last cruise, I made a mental note that I would be careful to never book any of the first couple of cabins nearest the door leading out to Lido.

(On Breeze) It's a self closing door, but with wind and air pressure it often stays open much longer than it should. Not only was it warm right there near the end of the hallway, but all the noise from Lido can be heard until that door shuts.

As a courtesy, I always tried to help push it closed when I entered/exited but not to much avail.

    Yes, this is very true.

  9. We had an interior Lido cabin front of the ship on the Conquest. Very quiet location. We also had an interior Lido cabin right by the entrance to the pool on the Breeze. Very busy foot traffic late at night. We could hear people talking in the halls at 3:30 am on most nights. Cabin was very warm and we had to request a fan.

  10. I haven't noticed a higher than usual LGBT crowd at the Alchemy Bar on any of our cruises that had one. It's not a stereotypical gay bar if that's what you're asking. Honestly, if LGBT guests frequent it more often than other bars, how would you even notice? Why would you even care?

I think Carnival advertises in the fun times for LGBT to meet there?
