  1. To each his own.

We've sailed both and love Conquest best. NO MORE SHIPS WITH LANAIS for us. Our Dream cruise at Christmas came with a Sex Ed opp for the 6 year old grandson (whose daddy saw it too and had to hustle him back into their room pretty darn quick).:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

When I look down from my balcony I want to see ocean. I do not care to see people having sex in the hot tub on the lanai.

What did Carnival say after you reported it?

  2. We have started planning our family cruise for next March (we take one each spring break). Looking for input on these two options:

6 day Conquest out of Port Everglades - Jamaica, GC and Cozumel

    Or

7 day Dream out of Nola - same ports of call

We have sailed the Conquest but not on the Dream - the Nola trip is ~ $500 more which isn't necessarrly a deal breaker. Since it is the same ports is the Dream worth the difference?

After sailing both, I would pick the Dream. We feel like Carnival hit a homerun with this class of ship. We really like the layout of the Lido main pool area. We also agree the Lanai is a nice touch. Getting around this ship is easy mode and I for one enjoy that.

  3.

    2) I clearly stated that it would have been easier to ASK the guests that were not attending the early seating table if they would prefer Any time dining and at the very least see what they said. I did not ask that they be MOVED without their permission or knowledge. Simply asking a question should in no way make anyone upset. This is called customer service, and is done (usually) with a smile in most other venues, when an error has been made.

How do you know Carnival did not ask the guest if they wanted to change dining times? They may have asked them and they declined. Carnival doesn't have to disclose this info with you.

  4. The price on the Dream was also $37 for two. They also had a discount on the Strawberries and Cream if you bought two bottles of Sheridan. I think the price was $10. We asked for a sample of the Strawberries and Cream to determine if we liked it. The taste was similar to the Strawberry Quick Drink if that gives any insight for those wondering what it is like or wanting to purchase it. It seemed a little too sweet for our taste, but everyones taste/preference is different. So we just got the Sheridan.

We went to the free liquor tasting the first night and the 2 for $37 plus the S&C was $10 however we didn't buy that night. I went to the liquor store a few days later and the deal was off. The S&C 500ml was $20 and not a good deal.

  5. Are there any help yourself ice machines on any ships? I always go to a bar and ask for ice but was wondering if there were any ice machines that you could help yourself.

Going to a bar and asking for a bucket of ice is the best method we have found.

  6. As of August 30, 2014, Go CCL is showing 9/25/14 - 10/09/14 as the dates for the Carnival Elation's dry-dock. According to the ship's GoCCL Fact Sheet and John Heald's Facebook page the Carnival Elation will receive routine hotel maintenance, new carpeting and flooring in some areas, gym upgrades, SPA Carnival upgrades, and Club 02 upgrades. John Heald stated in a Facebook post the ship would not receive any FunShip 2.0 upgrades during this dry-dock.

    Thanks for the info!

  7. Ok folks. 1550. 350pm. Still at docks. Air is starting to come out. Thank The Lord. Excited as heck!! Be proactive. Guest services didn't help. The senior housekeeping supe got everything rolling. If your cabin is warm, start the process early.

    Nice! Have a great trip.

  8. Before I can't text or write!! We are on our dream boat. Beautiful boat. Am excited. However. If u have rooms in the aft, on vista, be proactive now. Our room is extremely hot. We boarded at 1230 and it is 330 now. Mx came tried to fix. But so far no fix. The only choice is to change rooms one we sail away. If there are any left.

The carnival people promised me the room would cool once we sail away but I doubt that. The rooms ahead of the aft elevators are cool. The rooms aft of the aft elevators are warm to hot. I checked at 1230. Sorry for this but I wanted you to prepare.

    Thx

Not the news I wanted to hear. We were on the Breeze a month ago and our cabin was hot, however when we did set sail it did cool off. Thanks for the report.

  9. Hubby is looking forward to the Cigar City buckets on the Breeze in Nov.....do those cost the same and how many do you get?

We were on the Breeze the week of July 19 and the craft beer was $5.69 per 12oz can total and a bucket of 4 were $15.99 before tip.

  10. Is the salad station at the Taste Bar in the Ocean Plaza area still an option for lunch? I am trying to pick between 3 cruises in October, and that is one in the + column for the Breeze.

Does anyone know if any other ships have that same salad station at lunch? Soooo much better than the regular old salad bar...

    Thanks!

    Yes

  11. I wonder how often people reach the 15 drink limit? If you reach it, it says guest will not be served any additional drinks, does that mean you are cut off completely or can you still pay for drinks after that? 15 wouldn't be hard to reach on a sea day.

Somewhat different. I have a friend that had 4 drinks left on his card for the day. It was 1am and he told the bartender he was calling it a night and jokingly told the bartender I want my last 4 drinks. Bartender asked him what was he drinking, he said Bud and he gave him a bucket to bring back to his cabin.
