  1. Sailing the Breeze in September and we're contemplating using Carnival to have our luggage meet us at FFL airport at the conclusion of the cruise. Can't remember the exact name of this service.

Has anyone done this? How was it? How do you go about purchasing this perk?

Just did the Luggage express out of Miami. They will give you a form that needs to be turned in by noon on your 2nd seaday. $20 for the service and bag fees need to be paid upfront on your S&S card. The best $20 bucks I ever spent. It was painless. Our luggage was there to pickup when the plane landed. It was nice leaving the ship with just our carry on. We also stayed on the ship until last call. (10:45)

  2. Would it be ok for us to have our kids (10, 11, 11) hang out at the beach at Jacks Shack or is it an area that is not appropriate for kids?

The inappropriate place to bring your kids is the pool at Margaritaville by the DJ booth. Jack's Shack is a great place to hang out.

  3. My wife and I (both 52 years of age) decided to take a spin on the Carnival Breeze for 8 days. It was an 8 day cruise and our ports were

    Grand Turk

    La Romana Dominica Republic

    Curacao

    Aruba

    We left from Miami-

Yes I am a big HAL enthusiast cheerleader etc. I assumed I was going on a cruise with a bunch of party animals and booze smugglers, but decided to go for it.

What an awesome cruise. It was absolutely fantastic.

I had read that the ship held 3700 people. There was actually 4,703 aboard plus crew.

We drove to Miami used Premier Cruise parking which will save you $100 in parking charges. They are located about a mile from the port in a secure covered garage. They shuttle you to the port and back to your car after the cruise. we waited 10 minutes for the shuttle to get there, and then another 10 minutes when we got back. Easy peasy

We ended up with a handicapped ocean view spa cabin. This cabin was huge. You could play tennis in there. We were assigned a handicapped cabin with the chance we could lose it if a handicapped person needed it. No worries we were going with the flow.

We boarded in 20 minutes after reaching the port arrived in our cabin # 11204. What a cabin! You walk out your door take two steps and walk out onto your private observation deck. Turn right walk 5 steps and an elevator takes you to the spa,and the serenity deck (adults only) clam shells, hammocks, rattan couches etc.

With the spa cabin you get free use of the t-pool, tile loungers etc, slippers, robes, and beautiful bedding.

The ship never felt crowded (hard to believe) with 4700 passengers. The only crowded area was the pools, which are too small for this many passengers. We're not pool people so no biggie.

The food is endless. There's fat Jimmy's Bar B-Q on sea days which is delicious. There's Guys Hamburgers very popular and delicious as well. There's Indian food, pizza station,Blue Iguana (tacos, Burritos)

and then the Marketplace which is like the Lido but way bigger.

I'm probably forgetting more places, there's two dining rooms Blush and Sapphire. We like the blush better (prettier)

This truly is the fun ship. People are up till all hours of the night,no not getting drunk. They're going to karaoke, going to the adults only comedy club, dancing in the disco, singing at the piano bar, listening to an 80's band. Getting their pictures taken, watching a movie under the stars by the pool on a lounger with popcorn and a blanket.

I though back to HAL... two violin players before dinner and everybody asleep at 10pm. This was very different.

The ship is spotless antiseptic clean, friendly crew. The waiters sing and dance on their tables every evening in the dining room. Did I mention this is the fun ship?

We even went on the water slide a few times, more fun.

    The ports were fantastic.

    in Grand Turk

we went on a private excursion snorkeling and sting rays there were only 6 of us on the trip.

In La Romana we were going to stay on the ship. Thank god we didn't make a terrible decision like that. We took a private tour (12 of us) to Sanoa Island on a speedboat. Trust me you have never seen a beach like this,it truly is breathtaking. We snorkeled on the way to the Island at an abandoned pier went through some mangroves, then went to the Island. I will never forget how beautiful that beach was. We then stopped at a sandbar on the way back and found some starfish. We also had a delicious lunch on the island.

In Curacao we took a private tour (8 of us) to the West side of the island, drove all around and went to 2 stunning beaches.

In Aruba we took a ship tour. We rode in jeeps off road, all the way to the Natural Pool and then went swimming in it. This is off road seat belted in,if you have a bad back, this excursion is not for you.

This cruise was off the hook!!!!!!!!!!!

    The ship,the crew,the ports,

Still reeling from all the fun we had, now I understand why they call it the fun ship. I'm still a HAL enthusiast but so glad I broadened my horizons and went on this ship. Any questions feel free to ask:)

We were on the same cruise and we had a different experience than you guys. We are pool people and we felt very crowded on most activities. Still had a good time. :)

Here is a pic on Sea day.

  4. All those songs are great BUT put them in the Dance clubs at night ONLY. The Loud Blaring Hip-Hop I've heard makes for an annoying time on the Lido which is for relaxing and having fun and can be heard all the way up to the Serenity Deck at times. Play more cruise music / Caribbean music after all we ARE cruising in the Caribbean. IMHO

I totally disagree. You should consider cruising on another line. Also, don't forget people can smoke in the nightclub.

  5. Conquest ships with the 2.0 upgrades lost the smoking section on the Lido. Moved it up to deck 10, in the wind, etc. There was a big ruckus on here when the Liberty received the upgrades, and CCL removed the smoking section after people on the ship complained (too close to Guy's and the Blue Iguana, I suppose).

Sent from my phone. Typos are inevitable.

It was moved to a great spot. Up the stairs right by the pool and not invading anyone's air space.

  6. Since Carnival is now denying smoking on your balcony, what would you like them to do to accommodate you as a smoker. Non smokers-please I love you, but unless you are traveling with one, (a smoker) stay our of this.

I would like Carnival to provide a larger outside smoking area, that is as quiet as the Serenity area. An outdoor smokers lounge. Because when all those smokers get together we are really going to tick off all the non smokers...

What would accommodate you, since your balcony wont help anymore?

FREE cigs while you're on your cruise. :D

  7. Oh what great news!!! I've got cans of Fl Cracker and Invasion in frig now! Hope they move it to a draft status. Prices should be in line with Sierra Nevada Pale, similar size. Maybe they'll eventually offer Jai Alai or Madura as well. Puppy Porter would be a nice additional but I think it's seasonal.

    Now we talking!!!

  8. If you decide to go to MoomBa, just tell the taxi driver to take you there.

If you wish to rent chaises and umbrellas from the vendors at the foot of De Palm Pier, ask to be dropped off at the entrance to De Palm Pier. If you take that walkway which runs between the Radisson and Riu Resorts, once you arrive at the beach there are vendors on the left and right who will rent you whatever you need.

    Thanks for all the info!

  9. Anyone ever cruise over Christmas? If so what was it like? Would you do it again?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We really enjoyed our Christmas cruise and yes we would do it again.

  10. Don't be surprised if the cake does not arrive either. I ordered a birthday cake on the Magic in Cherry on Top to be delivered on my husband's birthday to our family table in the MDR. The entire family (except for DH) was expecting it so they just ordered ice cream for dessert. We waited and waited and waited and then got thrown out of first seating so they could reset the table. I went back to Cherry On Top and she showed me the order she placed. She sent me to GS. GS asked the kitchen staff. They baked the cake and it was delivered to the waiter on the night in question. He just didn't deliver it. FYI - worst waiter we ever had in 53 cruises on all lines. He delivered it the following night. No apology, no nothing.

    I misread your reply.
