  1. I can't listen to music in my room because I'm so hard of hearing I really have to crank it up and then the whole ship would hear it! Comes from years of listening to loud music. Quite the viscous cycle...anyway, that's what 🎧 are for!
  2. Hi Yvonne, I really enjoyed your trip reports. But you could really tell as the cruise went on that it was losing its luster for you... Getting sick during the cruise certainly didn't help your situation, but as the daughter-in-law of a man with severe dementia I can vouch how exhausting being a caregiver can be. Give yourself time to rest and heal and you'll find your joy again. Regardless of whichever cruise line you end up on, keep us posted! I love your adventures.
  3. Mmmmmm, leftovers. Seriously, a lot of food tastes better the second day when the flavors really come together.
  4. If your bid isn't accepted and you want your family trip to be special you can take the money you saved and book some epic shore excursions! The memories you have from them will last far longer than those of your room will, trust me.
  5. Well, I signed up for it on my cruise in October. Not sure why since I'm gonna be on the dang boat for 15 days... It's one way and you still gotta ride the bus back, right?
  6. Wow that's some expensive real estate...kinda like Boardwalk on Monopoly!
  7. I had two different NCL accounts, one with my middle name on it and one without so my reward points were messed up. Accounting merged the account for me but then I got a $50 charge for the name change. I called them and raised holy hell for this and they dropped the charge. Not a glitch, just NCL's love of nickel and diming us to death...
  8. Y'all quit. You're making me hungry...🤤
  9. Hi y'all, I've been combing the internet trying to find info about the spa on the Sun, specifically if the showers and sauna in the locker room are available for passengers since the amenities are very limited otherwise. I can't imagine them selling passes because of this. Thanks!
  10. That's a valid point, when we did the Alaska cruise last June there was visible light outside 24 hours a day and we couldn't get the room dark enough to sleep well, even with the curtains closed. An interior room would have been great for sleeping!
  11. I think some people might want validation that they've chosen wisely for what they booked, it's human nature to want to feel good about the choices you make.
  12. Mmmmm, smothered, covered AND peppered...
  13. I put mine under the bed and pull it out to put the dirty laundry in. Some use collapsible mesh hampers but that's just one more thing to pack, and the suitcase serves the same purpose.
  14. I don't know why, but every time I see this thread title I imagine lobsters cruising in the Haven rather than being eaten in the Haven...
  15. I've only been on three cruises and all of them have had balconies. The next one is a repositioning cruise and I'm going solo for the first time. The single supplement was going to eat me alive for a balcony...but there was an incredible price on a solo cabin with a porthole. So I won't have fresh air, but I will have a view. And who knows, maybe I'll get an upgrade for $7.00!
  16. I booked a balcony on my last Alaska cruise and I think the only time I would step on it was to see how freakin' cold it was outside...but in Hawai'i I lived on it, so for me it would depend where the cruise was if it were worth it or not.
  17. Preposterous! But would that really be a great loss? 😉
  18. I am cruising solo in October and NCL is giving me my airfare 50% off. Also their cost was way more than 50% off the best price I could find online. Now I may be routed through Timbuktu or something, but I saved a ton of money!
  19. I have an insulated water bottle that I get my soda in and they've not had a problem filling it for me.
  20. My experience on the last cruise on the Encore was some would give out cans, some not...
  21. I always carry an insulated water bottle and the bars will fill it full of soda if I ask. I get the soda package but they don't usually ask to see my keycard.
  22. I can't believe they have milk for free and charge for pop. Strange economics...
