Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Going from Air Transat to BA sounds like a bonus to me. Losing the money is unfortunate though...
  2. Right? If I'm 1hr late for my flight, or train, there's 0% chance it will wait for me...
  3. NBC just reported all passengers are back on the ship now, with NCL confirming they will reimburse their travel costs to get back on the ship.
  4. We have always had the same PCC. I always call them up to book my next cruise. I have not sent a gift, but during the COVID shutdown, I asked my PCC for their manager contact info and then emailed their manager to let them know how amazing and helpful they were. My PCC emailed me later to say their manager shared it with the team and she was rewarded because of it I'm a firm believer of always letting people/Managers know when their teams are doing amazing work. Nowadays it's very EASY to complain. Good work deserves to be called out!
  5. Agreed. Much less than what the drinks package actually costs on Royal or Celebrity. I'd never pay the NCL full price though.
  6. Actually it's 100% free. The drinks package is free. The gratuities are not free. As someone else mentioned before as an example. If McDonald's has a promotion "buy a big Mac, get a large fries for free" then the fries are free, even if the burger is not.
  7. Again, all assumptions and guestimations. "Glassdoor salaries are powered by our proprietary machine learning model" - aka basically useless in your scenario
  8. You have no way of knowing the total number of bar staff per ship, so you're not able to make an accurate calculation. There are also way more behind the scenes staff that support the bar staff who likely share the gratuities (much like land bars and restaurants) A100% of the guests in the sailing do not get the drinks package (via FAS or otherwise), and there's also no way to know this number.
  9. Yes, I believe that the gratuities are such, and are going to team members. Anyone can "suspect" anything. I suspect you're a bot, that doesn't mean it's true or correct. I'll believe NCL pockets the money when I'm shown undeniable proof of it.
  10. Don't worry at all. NCL (and all cruise lines) will do everything they can to ensure they get to all ports. The last thing they want is more bad press 😉 It's possible you could miss ports, but the chances are equal on all lines. Relax and get excited!
  11. The Drink Package is 100% free, there is no lie or deception in their marketing. They never said "free gratuities". Anyone who buys the drink package also pays the gratuities on top of the drinks package price. Also the term "gratuities" does not mean optional by definition. There are lots of businesses that have required, or mandatory, gratuities. One example would be a restaurant auto applying an 18% gratuities for large parties (6+ etc). The oxford English dictionary as: "money that you give to somebody who has provided a service for you"
