Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. They are trying to limit the number of people they test to keep their numbers as good as possible.
  2. Our cost for me (not her) testing on the ship and seeing the doctor, then us being quarantined at the Hilton Garden Inn in Seattle for a week, food delivery for two, overnight medicine delivery, and replacement flights home was just under $3,300. Hoping travel insurance covers most or all of that. When we didn’t think we had it, we faulted the cruise line. In hindsight they were right. And I am glad we tested and glad they quarantined us despite the first test being negative. Their CARE didn’t keep their promise’s, but medical did their job.
  3. Bliss was around 50% on the 5/14 sailing from Seattle to Alaska.
  4. Honestly I think they want to discourage you from getting tested, to keep their official numbers low. As far as I can tell, you have to both ask for it and pay the $149 for them to test you.
  5. I mail this form in with a printout from Fidelity, and I black marker redact my other holdings and account balance. https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/nclhltd/files/documents/Shareholder+Benefit+Request+Form.pdf
  6. That or the prevalent variant isn’t as strong. But we are really butting up against the policy at this point.
  7. Thank you. Your other post was quite informative. I would love to see the numbers as well.
  8. Last December while the pandemic was at higher levels, I spent a week in Egypt and a week in Jordan. All told it was 40 hours on airplanes. We did not get sick and both countries have lower vaccination rates than the US. Which is much lower than the cruise ship. There is a Facebook group for our sailing on the Bliss. Nearly 10% of the total passengers from the sailing are in the group, a statistically significant sample. And slightly over 8% of that sample have reported getting covid. Everyone knows cases are generally underreported, so the actual number is higher.
  9. I would love to go through the Panama Canal. The only locks I’ve been through were on the Nile, and the geek in me loved it.
  10. It hit a 52 week low today. Last time it was this low was May 2020. i won’t be surprised if it is under $10 soon. The whole market is tanking. It hurts me to look at my Fidelity account.
  11. TheJamesGang, what cruise? We were deck 10 on the Bliss last week when we got Covid. edit: n/m, I missed you gave the date.
  12. You are right, it won’t save any future customers. But it will likely get the attention of someone at corporate. And heck, it’s not like I have anything but time right now. The chargeback would hurt my travel agent, not NCL. The agent has been helpful.
