I've been looking forward to the release of the 2024 itineraries as I have a floating deposit to apply. They dropped last night. However, a quick look through and it looks like they dropped the P2P option for all the cruises. Specifically, I am interested in the Iceland cruise in July 2024 but I looked through a bunch of others and don't see any with P2P. We are doing D2D for our Med cruise next year but that option doesn't make financial sense for us for Iceland. Anyone know any further info on if/when P2P may be available?

I was on the Muse a few weeks ago (Alaska) and Kaiseka was not open for lunch. When I asked they said instead they added a self serve sushi station to the buffet but it was clearly not made by a sushi chef and had a strange (not in a good way) mix of rolls.

Correct. Just an observation as many, including us, were a little surprised about the total amount of time spent on the bus. I would still have done it just been better prepared and prepared my kids better. There were a few that said they would not have done it had they known the amount of bus travel. It also appears that at least one guest got covid from a couple that tested positive prior to boarding.

Another tip. We got off the boat at 9:15am and took a 5 min Uber to a bike rental shop near Stanley Park. Rented bikes for a few hours and did the park loop which was great. Since we arranged our own flights our airport transfer was not included and SS wanted $40pp or $160 for 4 of us. Grabbed an Uber for $28 for all 4 of us. I don’t mind spending $ but I despise getting ripped off.

As per my wife and daughter, it was definitely a carnival type atmosphere but they said they enjoyed it more than expected. She said it was very entertaining. However, it was tight seating.

Just ran into the wife of a family that got Covid (most likely on the 7 hour bus ride on the Denali Pre where a couple tested positive before boarding). There are 6 of about 350 with Covid. She said SS was going above and beyond and already booked a trip using their credits for next year. I think I mentioned earlier that the Denali add on was good but would never do it again. Way too much time on a bus.

I always hate this part of the trip. ☹️ Disembarkation procedures. But have the Med booked for next year and a deposit for Iceland when schedule is released later this month.

@gadgetguy33. Glad to help. I like to know all the little details (ie Laundry, gym equipment) prior to my trips. Have a a great time. Regarding discounts for non drinkers. Nada. Since we have 2 cabins the kids pay the full rate too. I will try to get that answer on the gin bottle later today.

Example of the Kids Club schedule. Mostly geared towards very young children but today they have tshirt and pizza making which is helpful on a sea day.

Some pics of the fitness center. Decent size and quality equipment. We went every morning from about 6:30-7:30 and only 1-2 other people there.

Agreed. The very nice Shorex manager just came to my cabin and understood my concern 100%. Didn’t make sense to her either and she is refunding my portion and said she will limit it to 4 guests going forward. As I mentioned to her, even if it cost a little more it’s not like SS guests can’t afford another $100 to actually fish the entire time. 🤪

So I did stop by Shorex to talk about my disappointment and the employee actually argued with me that since it was a group tour I shouldn’t have expected to have a rod to myself. If I wanted to fish for the entire tour, I should have booked a private tour. Oh boy! Now in addition to be disappointed I am insulted. Waiting for manager to call me.

Just finished up the Sport Fishing. My Son got a Salmon so he was very happy but I would be hesitant to recommend this excision. They have 6 guests and 4 rods. I didn’t touch a rod the entire trip despite paying for fishing and the license. Captain was great.

It’s definitely correct. I couldn’t enter Altantide last night because I didn’t bring a jacket and they ran out before I got there so we went to La Terezza. Also ate at The Grill and Indochine without a jacket and about 50% of the men didn’t have jackets.

Ketchikan. First cloudy day of the trip. About 4-5 ships in port. Heading out to do the Sport Fishing ($209pp) while wife and daughter do the lumberjack show (included excursion).

Glad to help. I’ll try to ask this morning. Weather has been outstanding starting with Denali. We saw Denali for the entire train ride on day 1. Looked so close but was so far. Other days started foggy but bright sunshine by mid morning. Don’t worry, we had the same raining forecast when I looked last week. In Sitka, they had a band playing at the pool mid afternoon and got a little busy with even adults swimming. Sun was warm. Air cool. We are in 734/736 which is right next to elevator and laundry and you do not hear anything. Ever. From the side, up or down. Nothing. It is nice having the laundry right there as we pack really, really light. 4 people, 2 half filled suit cases. We just get up in morning and throw in a load first thing. Here is what it looks like.

Correction. Disregard my comment above. Ugh! Jackets ARE required for men in select venues even on informal night. For example, Atlantide, the main dining room requires jackets to walk in. Once seated, most took them off. Even on board, it’s confusing. Jacket and tie on informal. Only slacks required in La Terezza on all nights.
