  1. The packages were fantastic at 25 a day for the drinks portion and are still great at 45 a day. After factoring out gratuities the bad wifi and the other crap is all gravy.
  2. We always book way in the future so we would be in the same cabin, but it would be less of a hassle if in the same cabin, that's all.
  3. The WiFi situation is gravy since it's not the best. But we'll pay 45 a day for the drinks package every day going forward. It was even better at 25 per day for our 14 days on the Discovery last year and our 14 on the Majestic this year. When we cruise is when we consume 95% of our alcohol consumption, so it provides value to us but we know that 45 a day is too much for teetotalers or light drinkers.
  4. That is the value smart way of thinking. It works better of course if you are in the same cabin for both cruises. 😄
  5. If you got 5 drinks from Royal, you should be Diamond plus. Diamond gets 4 and Pinnacles get 6. Even after our next 3 cruises on them that we have booked over the next 2 years, my DH will be 1 point shy from Diamond and those free drinks.
  6. If you factor out the gratuities and consider the WiFi and other things gravy, the bar tab is 45 a day for drinks. So that would be 1800 for a 20 day cruise. The same drinks package on RCI can run close to 1200 for only a 7 day cruise. So 90 a day for a bar tab for 2 people is cheap on Princess compared to some of their competitors.
  7. We were on the Edge with her as our last cruise pre-covid in Jan of 2020. Since we will have 18 nights on the Beyond, it'll increase the chance of getting a selfie with her. Gotta respect her all female crew on the bridge.
  8. The only lines that give alcoholic perks are RCI at the Diamond level and I guess Celebrity at a happy hour at whatever level. Since I haven't reached either of these levels yet after 50+ cruises, it's a moot point.
  9. The free water is all you get on Carnival. The don't even discount Cheers for their highest tier Diamond members. I've been Platinum with them for over 10 yrs and I'm aware of the perks that their top tier Diamonds get, which is a joke compared to RCI and NCL perks.
  10. Could you please provide a link to where the concrete evidence is that the average Princess cruiser is older than the average HAL cruiser? I can believe they are older than the 3 entry level lines that cater to families and Celebrity has dropped in age with the evolution of their Edge class ships, but it's kind of difficult to comprehend that the average HAL cruiser is younger than the average Princess cruiser.
  11. We will be spending 18 nights on the Beyond in November. What we're really looking forward to are our B2B's on the Sun in late 2024 and early 2025. Enjoy your bookings.
  12. I'm fully aware that my 14 day cruise could be booked as a 7 day northbound or a 7 day southbound. Been cruising for over 35 years and have 50+ cruises under my belt. My 🤔🤔🤔 was just sarcasm.
  13. Thanks. If we decide to do the pay shows, we'll obviously do it ahead of time and pay 12 instead of 18 on board.
  14. We sail for the ship not the ports. In the past 18 months we've been on the newest ships that Princess (Discovery), Carnival (Celebration), Celebrity (Apex), & NCL (Prima) were sailing at the time we sailed on them for a total of 56 days. Last time we did a smaller ship under 100 K tons was about 30 cruises ago.
  15. Isn't the Hollywood Conservatory on deck 17 forward on the Majestic a similar area?
  16. Thank you for educating me on something I had no idea about. 🤔🤔🤔
  17. They will be mailing it to me. My credit card has not been charged yet. If it is, I will stop at guest services on night one around midnight before we go to bed when it's empty to inquire about why we were charged when it's supposed to be free for those with the Plus package.
  18. No need to stand in line. Just walk up right before you're going to bed one night and there is usually no one waiting.
  19. Are reservations available for Hola! before you embark or not until you get on board? On their website, whose reputation precedes it, it was difficult to interpret whether you could do it or not. And were they open each day or only on sea days. We would probably do lunch on our sea days in the MDR, do it in Hola! if available on two port days and the buffet the other two days.
  20. Just to let you know, Seaborne is owned by Carnival Corporation. Also when it comes to combining loyalties on Royal and Celebrity there is one caveat. If you have 5 on each cruise line and you need 10 to reach a certain level, you can't combine the 5 and 5 to reach the 10. You need to reach 10 on Royal and then Celebrity would match you to their corresponding 10 level. It's nice, but not that great.
  21. Princess sails from Vancouver as well. We're on the Majestic at the end of May and she embarks from there. The Grand, Sapphire and Crown as well. The only Princess ships embarking from Seattle are the Discovery and the Royal. The Ruby is out of SF.
