  1. You do realize that the 46 per day you say that each staff member receives is a good percentage of their total compensation. It's not like they have a reasonable minimum wage like they do in the states. People that remove tips and don't tip a little extra for great service are pet peeves of mine. That's all I'm saying.
  2. No, have no problem with how Princess pays their staff. If you go to vines to consume your favorite wine or Good Spirits to consume your favorite craft cocktail over the course of your cruise and you don't offer a tip at the end of the week for over and above good service, then yes, that's who I have a problem with. From what I will infer, many times it's from somebody who is from a culture that doesn't tip.
  3. But it's all arbitrary nonsense. Cruiser A could have 5 drinks per day, while cruiser B has 20 per day. If each paid 60 per day for the Plus package, then how much money did each server get for the drink you ordered? It's a hypothetical school math question that has no specific answer.
  4. 832 divided by 26 days is 32/day or 16pp for grats.
  5. You do realize that the 18% gratuity isn't really part of the Princess Plus option. It's a true 18% if you're paying a la carte. It's totally arbitrary as to how much of the 40/50/60/80 is possibly allocated for the drink you got delivered. And of course you could be a low end consumer and have 5 drinks per day or a very heavy drinker and have a total of 20 drinks or more per day, combining alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Nobody really knows how much of the daily charge you paid for the Plus package actually gets allocated to the server on a per drink basis. We like to belly up to a bar to order our drinks so that I can see them being made to ensure that the proper alcohol is being utilized and not substituted with something else. And since 90% of our consumption is at Good Spirits, we take care of the servers there at the end of the cruise.
  6. Carnival doesn't allow the Cheers package to start on day one while sailing out of NYC, similar to the archaic laws in Galveston which require alcohol to be purchased from Texas. This results in a limited menu while still in Texas waters. We encountered this on our Prima repositioning cruise on Halloween. Luckily the drink package was intact, but with lower choices. Unlike Carnival, which just wipes out Cheers on day one embarking from Galveston similar to what they do from NYC.
  7. Then why so evasive on post 71. I asked a point blank question and all you needed to do was respond with a straight forward answer as to what your status is on Royal. Cruising on Royal doesn't tarnish your Carnival Corporation flag.
  8. I guess that gkbiii would know the answer since his status on Royal is Diamond Plus and I will infer from your response that your status is never.
  9. Wasn't asking you. Blerk flies the Carnival Corporation flag and only cruised on Celebrity after getting a casino deal. Was inquiring if he ever cruised on Royal. Hope you enjoy your five drinks per day on each sailing on Royal.
  10. And your status on Royal is what? Never thought you ever stepped foot on a Royal ship.
  11. You made the mistake of not ordering the tomahawk pork chop with the fingerling potatoes. Well worth the upcharge price.
  12. Based upon Europe 2024, there would be four different classes available. The Sun, the Sky/Regal, the Caribbean, the Island/Coral.
  13. Very impressive...14 drinks, the most so far on both cruises. As a side note, what perk were you offered for booking on board for your October cruise?
  14. A B2B could theoretically be considered a 14 day cruise, so luckily we got it. Did not get it though on our similar B2B last year on the Discovery Princess. I would assume you didn't get it because yours was a S2S.
  15. No, but like I mentioned in a previous post in this thread Carnival gives 250 in OBC if you sail on a 7 day B2B as 100 for the first week and 150 for the second week. Have gotten this twice in 2022 on the Mardi Gras and expect it on our B2B's this year and next on the Celebration.
  16. Your Elite status enables you to check in easier than us that have not reached your status yet. Looking forward to achieving Platinum status when we cruise on the Sun, but Elite status will be a few years down the road.
  17. But if I wasn't highjacked into paying the ten dollars I would not have been able to advance from blue to green on the app.
  18. There's a dozen ships with at least 25 solo cabins besides what NCL offers. The next best line is Virgin who has 47 on each of their 3 ships. If you wish to book one of these cabins, you need to book well in advance, otherwise pay the 200% or find someone to travel with.
  19. Only if they contain Bailey's, Kahlua, Jameson's, etc.
  20. Is there an exception to the 25 oz Foster's Oil Can?
  21. Had to pay the 10 for our Medallions for next months cruise on the Majestic. I called customer service and was told to go to guest services on board to get your refund. Cruised on the Discovery last year for the first time and the medallions were sent for free. I got the old plus package at 40 per day for that cruise as well as the Majestic cruise. I could have just been handed the medallions at embarkation to save the 10 bucks. It's the epitome of nickel and dimeing.
  22. NCL does not allow scooters on any of their tenders as well.
  23. Eat it in the shower and let your SO lick off what misses your mouth.
  24. How's this for a solution....don't buy the premium package if you're going to get your panties all in a bunch over a case of semantics. You are assuming that you can reserve a seat ahead of time like you're going to a concert or sporting event that has a section, row and seat number attached when in fact it's a section that is reserved for premium package holders.
