  1. It's like putting lipstick on a pig. An old rust bucket is still an old rust bucket, even if it has a brand new paint job. I'll stick to the Excel Class and the Venice Class.
  2. Nice looking large FRIED shrimp, certainly not tempura. I know there is a disconnect at times with MSC learning how to deal with being based in the US and that things are different on this side of the pond, but this nonsense has been going on for over five years at this point. We were on the Seaside in January of 2018 staying in an inside cabin in the Yacht Club and the European skewed things were frustrating at times. We're on the Meraviglia in July and hopefully certain things will have improved. Thinking about the World America ship in 2026, but they need to understand the nuances of doing things on this side of the pond a little better than they currently are.
  3. Do you still need to set up your credit card on file at a kiosk instead of their customer service reps on board doing it at check-in?
  4. Which ship are you going on with Princess? We were on the Discovery for 14 days last April and enjoyed it so much we are doing 14 days to Alaska in May/June on the Majestic. Have another 14 lined up on the Enchanted in 2024 and will be booking the Sun when we're on board the Majestic to get the extra OBC. Most cruise lines are more similar than different and if you cruise on one of their newer builds you usually have fewer problems.
  5. This is where MSC really drops the ball. Their customer service via phone, their Web site and even customer support on board is extremely lacking compared to their competition. It's the one area where they need to improve by leaps and bounds if they ever want to move up the food chain and bypass NCL. They certainly have enough new ships in the pipeline and of course deep financial standing compared to Carnival, RCCL and NCL. The big three bled billions during the lockdown while the shipping division of MSC kept making money, putting them in a different financial situation compared to their competitors.
  6. That 4th mimosa before a phone job interview could possibly put you in a bad predicament. Good catch stopping after three. If the interview goes well, then you can celebrate with more in the afternoon.🥂
  7. But substantially more money than those two or the comparable steak houses on Carnival or Celebrity.
  8. I'll have first hand knowledge comparing the Venezia and the Sun Princess next year since I'll be on both. Have a 7 day reserved on the Venezia for May and will be on the Sun for a B2B in the fall I expect the Venezia to be typical Carnival with an Italian flair. The Sun Princess on the other hand will be a game changer for them similar to how the Excel Class was a game changer for Carnival.
  9. Best of luck. Will be on the Meraviglia out of Brooklyn in July. Want to see your perspective. YouTubers Parodeejay just did a 4/3 B2B. On the 4 they stayed in a Bella balcony and on the 3 they were in an inside in the Yacht Club. Of course the experience was at opposite ends of the spectrum.
  10. You can't be implying that the Venezia and the Firenze have more going for them than the upcoming Sun Princess. That thought process is delusional.
  11. Will never happen. There are other divisions within the Carnival Corporation that will do world cruises. Never has been and never will be in the marketing scheme for Carnival Cruise Line.
  12. As has been mentioned, Princess allows drinks to be ordered and delivered through the app via the Princess medallion. And on NCL you can order two drinks at a time via one card or of course 4 drinks if you have two cards.
  13. Are you implying that a cruise ship from company A built in year X isn't the same as a cruise ship from company B built in year Y? 😉😉
  14. And as of November, the NCL Prima will be homeported in Galveston as well. Princess's niche would be to offer 10/11 day itineraries that would go to different ports that their competition. Ship wise, they are going against Harmony OTS (2016) Prima (2022) Jubilee (2023).
  15. Cruise on them often enough to gain Diamond status at 80 points and you get 4 per day.
  16. They could go to their new private area on Nassau and CocoCay combined with sea days and call it a cruise.
  17. Do they have chair hogs on a yellow submarine?
  18. I believe you could cancel, take the FCC and rebook the cruise at the lower rate.
  19. The difference of course is where the cruise is happening. The 118/199/299 was a typical Caribbean cruise where the port charges will be under 200, sometimes substantially under. The Panama canal, Alaska and Eastern Hemisphere cruises are where you can find the 400.00 and upwards port charges which would be double or more of the typical Caribbean cruise.
  20. It's certainly better if it's included similar to Carnival's Guy's Burgers instead of pay extra for Johnny Rockets on RCI.
  21. Yes. Each of the last three classes of ships have had three ships. Excel (Mardi Gras, Celebration, Jubilee) Vista (Vista, Horizon, Panorama) Dream (Dream, Magic, Breeze) Depending upon how successful the first two Venice Class ships are, there could be a third after the Venezia and the Firenze.
  22. About 1500 + tax for the cheapest inside cabin. This is the cheapest week available till April of 2025.
