  1. Oh, I believe you want to know how you buy OBCs? If so, not that I know of. If Royal offers OBC as part of the original sale/package, it will show up on your initial invoice. Other than that, if your TA doesn't offer OBCs and your initial booking didn't include OBCs, I don't know how you can get OBC's after the booking. If you are asking if an unaffiliated Credit Card Company that gives rewards/points can be transferred into Royal OBCs, I don't know. You'd have to call your CC company and ask them if they are usable and if so, how.
  2. I don't doubt your experience, not at all. However, you can go back in this social media forum and find some, not many, folks would disagree. Some, I'm convinced, would b*t^! if you hung 'em with a new rope. My entire intent was to give a, I believe, a newbie to the Star Class a little suggestion that is based upon MY experience and some of the posts in here and other sites that I've read. On my last cruise, Alaska, May, Ovation, there were other Star Class folks in the CK, of course, and I'm hear to tell you, they did not get the attention that we did. We were well taken care of. Our benefiting from the attention wasn't just because our Genie escorted us to our table, which he probably would have done anyway, but we were fun to be around. We joked with the wait staff, told them funny stories, made fun of ourselves and we picked on ourselves and them a little. Oh, on our first visit to the CK on the Ovation, there was only one other party in the entire venue. So, we were not putting on a show. My only regret with the post at issue is that I did not account for every minute and every detail while I was on my initial visit to the CK. AND, I'm not trying to mitigate my preferred way of doing things. On the contrary, I paid for the extra attention/service, I want the extra attention/service, I'm going to get the extra attention/service but in a civil, humorous and respectful way. If I didn't want or expect the extra attention/service (only by the crew), why would I pay for it. That is all
  3. That doesn't matter unless your TA offers OBCs. However, the way I did it was through my Bank of America Visa Credit Card which gives you reward points that can be used for a large variety of Royal merchandise and also OBCs.
  4. A side not here: I'm not usually a big fan of the usual tourist traps, But, one I enjoyed a lot more than I though I would is the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau. If you select an itinerary that includes Juneau, I recommend it. Don't get me wrong here, there isn't really any one thing that is all that great, it's just the whole experience. Just watch your step while walking around in the place, really thick sawdust or whatever it was on the floor. The Duck Farts aren't bad, either.
  5. I'd bet that there was s screw-up behind the scenes for that to happen, either by Royal or the Port Authority.
  6. Bottom line, if a terminal, like terminal 18, isn't built by and have a contract with the port authority for exclusivity, any cruise line can utilize the terminal, scheduling permitting, I've seen cargo ships at passenger terminals in Port Everglades. Like I've indicated, I've been retired from Port Everglades for a long time now. However, I believe terminal 25 is one of those exclusive to Royal, Celerity is part of Royal. But, all things are subject to change with the passage of time and the exclusivity may have expired.
  7. Not to worry, we will take good care of her when she comes to Galveston and we cruise on her 1/14/24.
  8. I'm sorry you interpret it that way! Nothing could be further from the intent!
  9. Just in case anyone is interested in the outcome of this, I called Royal's Reward Desk and this is what it is: My wife's and my reward points/$$ were successfully transferred over from BOA to our Royal Account for this cruise. No, we don't need two separate Royal Caribbean Accounts. The very helpful gentleman said that the $200.00 that was visible was process quickly. However, the second, my $200.00 has been received but not put into my folio, for lack of a better term, as yet. He said that it can take up to two weeks for a transfer to be completely process even though they were submitted at the same time. So, I am in a hurry-up and wait mode for my additional $200.00 to show up in my account.
  10. Yep, that's what the "Phone Answerer" said and I want to do.
  11. Yep, that's what the "Phone Answerer" said and I want to do.
  12. A suggestion: As a Star Class cruiser on a ship that has the Coastal Kitchen, when you go the first time, make sure your Genie escorts you, not just to the entrance of the CK, but to your table, which could very well be the table you get each time you go, if you like it. If you do that, the wait staff and maitre d will remember you, your party, and your status, also make sure you leave a very generous tip when you leave. Oh, and talk to the wait staff, ask them questions about where their from, about their family, and so on. From that point on, the maitre d' and his/her asst will not ask you for your info again, they will happily great you, by name, with a huge smile on their faces. Also, the wait staff will fall all over themselves to give you great service. They do work as a great team in the CK, at least that is my experience.
  13. Thanks. But, let him go, he's showing his true colors! He won't even admit the obvious. He can't quote what he says people are saying. I'm still waiting on him to produce a quote, apologize, or leave.
  14. Man, I hate just adding one issue after another. But, Royal's IT just keeps on frustrating me. My wife doesn't have a separate "On-line" account. We both use the same log-in and password. Both, website and mobile app. I just looked into our BOA on-line accounts, on BOA we do have separate credit card accounts, and her amount shows transferred to RCCL and so does mine. So, here we go, hurry up and wait, on hold with RCCL. Mine shows as a OBC on RCCLs website but hers doesn't.
  15. So far so good. Now, I've got another issue, or not. On the top where it shows my OBC, it only show the amount that I got off of my Credit Card, not my wife's. We had $200.00 each but it only shows $200.00. I did select the "Share" option when I made the transfer. Is there a way to see her OBC or do I need to call RCCL in the morning?
  16. That's great news. Just what I wanted to hear. I just purchased the Hibachi for two. I was surprised I could make a reservation. I though you couldn't make dining reservations until onboard. I'm happy.
  17. Thank you. That was very helpful. It was there. Now, it says that it can be used to spend on "pre-cruise purchases". I was under the understanding that the credits could be used as actual OBCs, pay for the onboard folio. I was actually advised not pre-pay the gratuities and then pay for them while on the ship with the OBC. A Royal "Phone Answerer" told me that. Do you have any more insight into this?
  18. I retired from Port Everglades before the Oasis Class ships were introduced. However, I believe Terminal 18 is the primary terminal for Oasis Class ships. I've cruised out of there twice on Oasis Class ships and both times it was Terminal 18. I believe terminal 18 is dedicated to Royal. But, they do have availability of at least one other terminal, I think it is terminal 25.
  19. About a week or two ago, I transferred my BOA (Royal Visa C.C.) Rewards points over to my Oct 31 cruise on the Independence. I did it online in the BOA website. Does anybody have experience doing this? If so, what do I expect from here? What notification? What receipt or acknowledgement form Royal? How do I know if they were successfully transferred to my folio before embarkation day?
  20. Hey Skippy, quote me where I said, ONCE, that I was scared of going to NYC/Manhattan. Don't obfuscate, don't misrepresent, just quote me. Do that before you go on to anything else. If you can't, I'll accept your apology! Hell, quote me where I said I was scared of anything in this forum. If anything, I've said that I'm "not risk adverse". I don't think @mpdog42 did either. Just because you don't want to visit a place, spend money there, support anything there doesn't mean that you are afraid of anything.
