  1. Well, now you know and so do many folks that just read your post, including me. However, I don't use Gift Cards/Prepaid cards for anything more than restaurants, I certainly don't purchase them, but I get some as gifts and other credit card rewards that I contribute to.
  2. That's the problem, they don't. Our courts a filled with people suing companies and individuals for things that they should have known. Think/remember the case of suing McDonald's for someone spilling hot coffee on herself. Also, see post #29.
  3. There, fixed for ya! Of course, that is an attempt at humor. I'm no fan!
  4. Ya, retirement life is a bi%^&. When I book a cruise, I don't have anything standing in the way. Well, except for possible medical issues. LOL Too bad, I would have liked to meet ya and buy ya a drink.
  5. We are the guarantors. We don't have to be, but we will.
  6. Yep, that's for sure. Some non-profits, I wouldn't donate a dime to. But, they do have overhead expenses and have to pay their bills. Not too many, if any, actually donate every penny they receive as donations to their subject. I'm talking about actual Charities, not radio, podcasts, or TV shows, et al, that collect donations and then turn that over to other charities or causes.
  7. Yesssssssss. It's also called common sense, the premise of the space, and the appropriateness. I actually don't have a problem with Mon and Dad having a glass of wine or a beer with their, at least, middle-teen teenager(s) sitting at a table, not the bar.
  8. No, not "exactly". Discrimination can be illegal and discrimination can be illegal. Just saying "unjust" discrimination is illegal is not necessarily true! There are lots of things that are both unjust and immoral, but not illegal. Same for prejudical. I'm prejudice against criminals. It isn't illegal.
  9. We're on the Harmony in January, too, the 14th. If we are on the same cruise, on "formal night, you'll see me in my favorite formal blue jeans and polo shirt, at best.
  10. If it's irrelevant, why did you say it/use it? And once again, I'm sorry you feel that way, no matter what shape you make that pretzel. I can tell you that if I see an elderly person, with issues or really really old, physically, I'll give up my seat/lounge no matter what the intended use of the thing is. The Solarium is not a place, as far as I'm concerned, where I leave my humanity and compassion for others, behind.
  11. 100%. I mean, doesn't it only take ONE!
  12. Well, if you think that the reason for getting to the Solarium late is because they are too old to get up early, I'm sorry you feel that way. It's kind of an overgeneralization, don't you think? And you have no idea why anyone arrives late to anything. And, I'm not talking about YOU, I'm talking about the young, the impressionable, the folks who need to be taught manners. It's obvious that it's too late for some of us.
  13. I could be very wrong here because I haven't cruised every cruise line, but I believe just about every cruise line has areas that are reserved for what the cruise line defines as adult. Even Disney. The supposition that those who want to have adult-only spaces should cruise on those lines that are "adult only" is a false one and a lazy argument. There is space on most cruise ships that are designated for Adult Only and there are areas where adults can go and be quiet that aren't designated "Adult Only". I know on my morning walk, by myself, I sometimes like to just sit and ponder the day in near total quiet, if only for 5 minutes. I've never had a problem finding it and it wasn't the Solarium. Sometimes it's the suite sun deck, sometimes it is at the rear/aft of the running/walking track. The point is if you want an adult-only or quiet space because you want quiet and no jumping around kids, it's not hard to find. Personally, I don't care what the rule is, I just ask that the cruise line ENFORCE whatever the rule is. This 18+, as I've stated in the past, is a dilemma for me. But, I won't go through that again. NOTE: The word "YOU" as used above doesn't mean you @BND, personally.
  14. I hope so. But, I've never booked anything but Star Class with that TA and agency so I don't know what it would be like otherwise. Her title is "Senior Account Administrator" or something like that.
  15. Believe me, I know exactly where it starts and ends, for me. It's black and white, not gray in any way. If you don't provide a face-to-face service to me, I don't tip you, except for cruise line prepaid gratuities, but I still tip with cash if the service is good or better. Simple. While vacationing in England (London) a few years ago, I provided a tip to anyone who serviced me face-to-face. Not one person turned it down or said, "We don't do that here". In fact, I don't think I've ever had anybody, from anywhere, except for Publix baggers, turn down a tip.
  16. Just as a side note: There are some, maybe many states that allow for underage drinking while in the home with parent(s) present. I feel that if parents are with their young but mature upper-age teens should have the final say when it comes to having a glass of wine or beer with mom and/or dad, ANYWHERE alcohol is served and under the "age of majority" people are allowed admittance and open to the general public.
  17. So, you do tip based on social/personal status, not necessarily job performance. I tend to tip more generously on a cruise ship and I have stated so many times in this forum and others because many, not all, are supporting extended families back in their native, usually 3rd world, nation. But, that is a generalization, not an individual-based determination. I don't give any one crew member a larger tip because they are a mom or dad or they have 15 kids that don't have any shoes (there are charities for that). I tip based on individual performance. But, I do generally tip a little more in a cruise ship bar than I do in a land-based bar in the U.S. of A.
  18. Or, he's the cause of it! Just a thought.
