MSC is not only passenger cruise. They are a big player in the freight / cargo cruise industry with.

Same here. Transit Visa came afternoon the night before to the first port. Just apply and be patient.

I organized and booked this trip for my mother and can underline Alicat's feedback on this cruise. - For Petra and Sohkna (Cairo) 20+ MSC Coaches. Please check the FB group for this itinary and book a private tour operator. - If you pay 2000-3000 USD for this cruise then it's not worth it. What do you get? 4 Ports. - Only book if you are a muslim, really like the middle east, short in time for 3 countries or especially wants to visit saudi arabia.

I cruised 3 times with MSC and 2 times with Costa last year. To make it short. Every cruise was nice. But the vibe on the middle sized Costa ships were a lot nicer than on the mass market ships from MSC with separated Yacht Clubs. On Costa it feeled more like the traditional cruising and due to the size more warm and friendly. The vibe was 👍

We have now the e-Visa for egypt and also a statement from the embassy that visa on arrival is possible. So let's see.

MSC state that my parents need a visa from the consulate. The current law in Egypt is visa on arrival (possible) and e-visa (possible). Sorry but no hotline employee will help you. They probably will redirect you to some Manager etc. I contacted now some manager from MSC Egypt to get the confirmation if their rule may be outdated and never updated since 2018.

MSC and the Saudi foreign ministry have archived an agreement. From this week on you can get a transit visa for Saudi Arabia for 25 USD (just the insurance fee).

There are incredible hurdles regarding visas for Egypt and Saudi Arabia. If you book it for next Saturday, you have to get the visa in time. It's a real gamble.
