  1. And yesterday, when I wasn't having these specific issues, I couldn't see our detailed account. We have a credit listed on there, but it doesn't make sense. We cancelled an excursion, but that was done 2+ months ago and we already had that credited. And this amount doesn't match that either. But I can't see anything regarding the detailed money part.

Here is a link to a discussion about that.

  2. Same issue for our cruise on 7/6. It switched over exactly 30 days prior. I have a feeling it is IT issues related to making onboard accounts active, thereby transferring shore excursions, dining, drinks etc to the account, and making the computer see the money you paid for them as "extra", since the items have been moved.

Just a theory from the combination of my travel agent background and my husband's IT background.

Great theory but not correct in my case. My cruise isn't until Nov. and my balance due is the exact amount minus my drink packages and specialty restaurant reservations.

  3. I'm sorry for the newbie questions, but I will be going on a cruise for the first time next week, and a lot of things aren't clear to me. Any help is appreciated!

    1. How early can you board the ship? I was wanting to get a massage at 4:00, and that is when the itinerary states we board the ship. I wasn't clear on this.

    2. What exactly does the deluxe beverage package entail? The only info I could find was 40% and 20% off wines. And what is the difference between this and the 10 drink card?

    3. I'm traveling solo. Any tips so that I don't feel like a leper? ;)

    4. If I dine anywhere other than the main dining room, will I incur fees?

Any other tips are appreciated. Thank you!

I'm assuming you mean a massage on the ship, not on land before boarding. Just in case you didn't mean on the ship just remember you have to be checked in at least 90 minutes before sail away time. I prefer to get to the port about 10:30 or so and then boarding usually starts about 11-11:30. I like to get on early and start making use of the first day that I have paid for!

What ship are you sailing? There may be other free dining venues other than the MDR and the buffet, but it depends on the ship.

  4. So, my question now is since you paid for the BOGO 2 night Specialty Restaurant (SR) Package for $30/person for 2 people ($60):

What SR will they have you eat in on each night (night 1 & 2?)

Does that $30 for each night cover the total cost of where you eat or will you pay the difference?

Is there an SR that is only $30 for a meal? I don't think so to my knowledge. Example: Chops $42, Izumi A LA CARTE, Jamies $35 and Wonderland is $49. So, I paid $30 BOGO, would I have to pay the extra $12 (Chops), $19 for Wonderland?

    Anyone have experienced this recently?

It's actually $30 pp for both nights so only $15 per restaurant/pp. And no, you don't pay any extra.

  5. Thanks for your replies. We ended up picking the afternoon option. We really are not morning people and just didn't want the added stress on our last vacation day. For all of our past cruises we stayed in the port city an extra day and then flew home, but this time decided to just head home right away Saturday so we could have Sunday to relax and catch up on laundry and grocery shopping before heading back to work on Monday.

  6. We will be on Adventure arriving back in San Juan on December 2nd. If I book a 10:50am flight how early would we need to be off the ship? My husband is concerned we would need to rush to get to the airport and be stressed all morning. If we book that we can be back home about 4 hours earlier than the later flight.

Otherwise if we book the later flight. Are there restaurants in SJU where we could go and have a leisurely breakfast/early lunch? I'm guessing we would have probably 3-4 hours in the airport before our flight if we booked the 1:30 flight.

    What would you do?
