If you will be in traditional dining, you can request a window table from rcldining@rccl.com.
GREAT!! We have traditional 5:30 dining. Thanks for this email address. I will do that.

What time are you dining? What time of the year are you cruising?
For example: If you are cruising in the winter, sunset may be around 5:30. First seating about that time, and just shortly after it is dark outside.
Sitting next to window in a brightly lighted room with it being dark outside.....you may have a good view of your reflection. ;)
Lol!! :D We are going next month and have the early seating 5:30.

The other thing you can do is request a window table and then go the first day and check out the table that you are assigned to. If you don't like the view from that window table, find a few you do and then get with the dining clerk at the desk there when you come in and see if he can move you to one of these.
That is one of the traditions that my wife and I have when we get on the ship. We usually have a little bit after we get on before the windjammer opens, so we go and check out our dining table. Just a thought, but it is something that we do.
Great idea! We will do this next month. Thanks!

Yes, if you are sitting next to a window, you can see the water. Not so much if you are in the center of the room.
Thanks Bob. Its been a several years since we were on Oasis. It didn't matter where we sat then, but with the kids this time I thought they would like to see the ocean as we eat.
-
We will be cruising soon with young children and this will be their first cruise. If you are sitting at a table in the dining room on Oasis can you see out the windows to the ocean? Or is the ocean view obstructed by anything? Another words can you look directly at the water with nothing else in the way? Hope this makes sense. We were thinking that the children would enjoy seeing the waves, water.

Thank you so much for your review on Oasis!! We sail on her later this summer with our one daughter and her family. It will be our grandsons first cruise, they have talking about it for some time and are getting excited each day!! :D
-
Wonder if the new menu would be the same on Oasis.

Thanks all!! Looks like I have to change my reservation to day 6 then. Day 5 is San Juan and day 6 is Labadee. We depart from San Juan at 2 pm now (was originally 3 pm) and Labadee at 5 pm.
-
Oops, we will be doing the San Juan itinerary.

I booked this cruise (Eastern Caribbean) over a year ago and have been reading the tips on Oasis. I read from many on here that formal nights were on the 2nd and 6th days. This past week I booked a specialty restaurant on day 5 so we would not miss formal night in the main dining room. Yesterday I was reading a review that stated the second formal night was on day 5 not day 6 like others have said. Does anyone know if it has changed on all Eastern sailings or for some reason just on this one? If it has I would like to switch nights in the specialty restaurant. We are cruising this summer.

We will be on Oasis later this summer. In San Juan we plan on going to Barrchina's for their Pina Coladas!!! Yummy can't wait!! :D. Enjoying your review and photos!!

Thank you for the very detailed review and photos!! They are greatly appreciated!! We will be boarding in two months with our daughter and family, can't wait!! :D You got me thinking about the Solarium Bistro for dinner one night. Do they have a children's menu? They are seven and six years old. Not sure this is the best for them. Thanks again for taking the time to do this review.
-
Thanks for doing this review. We will be boarding two months today!! But who's counting!!:D This will be our grandsons (7&6) first cruise. Our daughter and son in law will also be going too. I am reading all I can until it's our turn. What is the drink in the picture with whip cream? Looks yummy.

Thank you for your review. We will be boarding two months today :D but who's counting!! First cruise for our grandsons (7&6). Of course our daughter and son in law will be with us too. They don't want to miss out on the fun.

I have not received an email yet. On same sailing as OP. Hope we can get to Barrchinas and back in time. :D

Oasis cruise sailing in August is 20% off. I keep checking for a deeper discount. ;p
-
I've seen it advertised in the Cruise Compass and at bars. Just ask bartenders.
Thanks Bob! You are once again a wealth of knowledge!
-
I also have a question about the drink card. How do you know if it is offered on our sailing? Meaning where did you see it advertised? What is the cost and can you purchase more than one? Is it only offered for a short period of time and at a certain location? Thank you in advance.

Is the Chef's table done once per cruise or at any time on any evening of the cruise? When I did a mock booking for it, they asked what day and time I would prefer?
Yes, it is held every night, but only one sitting per night. If that makes sense. I believe they only accommodate up to 16 people per night.
-
We just booked it a couple days ago for the Independence TA this October. The cruise planner had discounts for dining, beverage, and excursions. happy cruising
We are on Oasis in August. It still is not on sale, but I will keep checking now that I know its a possibility. Thanks and happy cruising to you also.
