    I booked the Westing Beach Resort & Spa this past January & I ended up not being able to go. However, my family still went & stayed here. Scored a deal on Hotwire.. $39.00 total per night. It was an amazing score needless to say. They loved loved loved it! I rebooked for March but couldn't get a deal on this property so I stayed somewhere else. I did see the Westin from the Beach area. It's totally walking distance to many resturants along the beach. Beach Place has many bar/resturants you can enjoy. It was Spring Break when we were there March 8-19 so it was crazy with college kids. Lots to watch. LOL

    Hi Sue! Thanks for answering my questions. I also got Westin from Hotwire, but didn't get the deals you did. Although I believe we did get a deal considering we are going during the summer. I was alittle nervous there would be no restaurants within walking distance. So thanks for your reply.

    Hi, we are booked at The Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale and was wondering if anyone has stayed there and what your opinion is? Also if there are any restaurants and shopping areas within walking distance from here? Thanks for your response in advance.

    I want to join the others to let you know that I am really, REALLY enjoying your review and photos!! What a lovely family you both have! I was on Freedom in August and was soooo looking forward on doing the Flash Mob dance. I even went to the rehearsal, BUT then didn't make the dance. :o You see I was on a cruise when Hurricane Irene hit the east coast!! :mad: I was on the internet trying to find a flight home (as ALL flights were cancelled) then looking for hotels to stay at for a few days. This took a lot of time and I missed the dance. I hope to participate one day. Looking forward to more of your wonderful report!! :p

    THANKS Shirley and Preston (and all others) who help us on this thread and on CC!!! :D It's much appreciated more than you know!! :p My cruise is not until August and I'm not sure where to stay and who to use as a shuttle service but I still have time to work on that. Do you feel it's better to make a ressie now (hotel, shuttle) or wait closer to cruise time. I'm thinking of booking thru Priceline or Hotwire. I have not done "name your own price" with Priceline yet. A little nervous about that. :o Anyway, thanks for all you do and I will look for the update from post # 862.

    Hi Trainman. I wanted to responsed to this thread, but have a hard time with tears in my eyes. You are one lucky man (and Carol one lucky woman) to have found this kind - type of LOVE!!! If everyone has feelings like this for each other the world would be in a better place. Jim, my heart goes out to you for your loss. You truely sound like a person we would have the honor of dining with.

    The Burial at Sea is exactly what I want when my time is up, one last cruise with my family. Here I go again (crying). As a matter of fact it is in my will to do just this. So thanks for your report (and photos) as to how it will be performed. May God Bless you. Enjoy the rest of your cruise and have a safe trip home.
