WOW!!! Your photos are gorgeous!! :D We will be sailing on her this summer, so looking forward on your review! Thanks for doing this during your vacation. :p How do you do it with no people in your photos?? You must get up very early in the morning...
-
We will be in OSJ in August and would like to go to Barrachina's for their famous Pina coladas! Does anyone have directions on how to get there from the port? Can we walk? Our ship doesn't arrive until 4 pm.

Thanks for all of your answers! So it sounds like it is the luck of the drawl. Now to make the choice...

Planning on booking a balcony on Independence cruising to the Eastern Caribbean this summer. When docked at ports we want to see the island from our balcony, which side do we book (aft or starboard)? In other words, we want to go out on our balcony and look down onto the pier below. Thanks!!

Ally had mentioned in an email that she had problems with disembarking and I got the quoted text below from her.
I suggested to her that she include a summary on her post cruise survey and mention that Guest Relations should have contacted her the moment they knew there was a problem and not simply flagged her Sea Pass with a No Disembark Code!
OMG!!! Ally, my heart was racing as I was reading this!! And it didn't happen to me, I can't imagine how you felt!!!!  Glad you made the flight, with one minute to spare... :o

or Coco Loco on Coco Cay. I believe they are the same yummy drink!! :D

Trainman, Thanks for the wonderful review with photos of your family this past week. Can't believe how fast it went and it is over ... :(
Glad to hear you made it back home with no "extra souvenirs".

If you are taking the grandkids without the parents, you will need a certified letter from the parents giving you permission. Not sure if mom/dad will be coming with the kiddos.
Thanks deb, yes, their parents will be going with us. Have to find out if they will need anything else besides the "Government" issued birth cert. Don't want to show up at the pier and be denied boarding... :o
-
They can use a birth certificate, but it has to be "Government" issued and have a seal on it.
Thank you so much Trainman!! Your photos and text are so inviting that it is hard to be here in the cold! Looking forward to warmer weather and cruising. Thanks again for taking us along and safe driving for all tomorrow!!

Hello Trainman, Judith, Ally and Lyric! Thank you for taking us along on your cruise! :o I have enjoyed checking in daily to see your adventures. :D We are thinking of taking our two young (5 and 4) grandsons on a cruise either this summer or next and was wondering if they would need a passport? We would be doing a Caribbean cruise from Florida (Oasis).
Enjoy your last day on Allure.

Thank you to all who responded about waiting to book after final payment!

I wad told they book fast because the season is short but I know there wetter still rooms available a bit before we sailed. I'm sure in the prime months those would book faster.

Yes, I was afraid of that Mrs. Gosse. Thanks!

We are thinking of doing our first Alaska cruise this summer. We have cruised to the Caribbean several times already. In the past for Caribbean cruises if I didn't book very early I would wait until after final payment then book. Would this be an option on an Alaska cruise or do they book up quickly and our chances of getting a cabin is slim to none? We would prefer a balcony but any cabin would do just to be on the ship.

Thank you all for your suggestions. :)
fleckle - Yes, I agree with you! We always check in our luggage as well. Our neighbors luggage went missing many years ago and never knew what happened or where it went!!

Hubby and I are thinking of an Alaska cruise next summer. We have cruised the Caribbean but not Alaska. We were thinking of flying into Seattle and wondering how far and how to get to Vancouver for the cruise. This cruise destination will be new for us and we have to start somewhere. I know we will have more questions as time goes by. :o So how far is it from Seattle to Vancouver and the best way of getting there?

Hi all! Looks like everyone - well most - cruise on Princess, we were thinking of Royal Caribbean. What is the difference, if any?? Thanks again for all the wonderful suggestions.
AryMay - Reading your trip and photo report! All I can say is WOW!!! I keep going back to read more, now at Juneau part 2... What detail you give!!! :D
-
Thank you all for your responses!! Boy, this sounds so complicated, I am a little nervous about this... Forgot to mention that we are also thinking about doing a B2B, Vancouver to Seward, then Seward to Vancouver, and then flying home (Pa.) from Seattle.

Hubby and I are thinking of trying Grandeur this summer since we could also drive to the port. Have sailed with Royal in the past but not on this ship. Any comments you have would be helpful. Thanks and enjoy your cruise!!

Hello all! I have been checking this post out daily as well. I'm looking for August 2015 sailing. I have called RCCL every day this week and also Crown and Anchor to see when the summer schedules will be available. I have heard anywhere from now until mid March. Last night when I called the person I spoke with gave me a date... Wednesday, February 26th.
Time will tell... Until then, I will keep checking.
-
YEAH!!!!! Another cruise with Trainman and Judith!!!! Your new home looks wonderful!!! Until tomorrow...

I can't tell how would it work since nobody in our table needed any substitutions, but on the day of your meal you will receive a call asking you if you have any special requirement... food allergies, etc! If you're not in your room at the moment of the call, they will leave a voicemail and you can call back!!
Thank you for your quick response miridj, I will wait for the call. I would assume the menu is the same for each meal / sailing. Hopefully they will be able to make small changes for us. :o

Hi, we will be on Allure in a few weeks!! I booked Chef's Table as a surprise for my husband and I one night. Since we don't eat red meat - beef, pork, ham - is there any subsitutations allowed? We do eat turkey, chicken and fish. Thanks for your reply.

Turn right on a1a and walk a few blocks and you will run into lots of restaurants and a few shops. Keep going and you'll find even more. Take the trolley north to Gallery Mall for better shopping. It's only about 1.5 miles away.
Hi royalcruz! Thanks for your response. I wrote it down in my notebook of info of our cruise this summer.
