I’m confident that you will have a great time in the YC on the Seascape. I was also worried about the negative reviews posted about MSC and specifically the Seaside and Seascape. My wife and I just got back from a B2B deluxe balcony on deck 12, fantastica experience. The only thing I would do different is book 2 separate cruises because I could have upgraded to the Aurea experience for the second week. The repetitive shows in the theatre weren’t much of a problem for us since it allowed us to check out the shows in La Cabare Rouge and we found these to be better for us. We found the buffet food comparable to other large ship cruise lines, specifically Royal and Norwegian. We love a good cheese pizza and theirs was really good. I find that the people that complain the most are not willing to discover the timing of the operations of the ship with the passengers that are onboard that week. We don’t like packed and lines so we checked the hours of operation for what we wanted and adjusted our schedule accordingly. We personally loved sleeping in, grabbing a quick lunch, going to the port to shop, come back for early dinner and then go to the shows and be back for late night pizza and tea at 10. We are early diners and the service at the 5:15 time slot in the MDR was amazing and the food was good. Again comparable to other large cruise lines. The food in the Butchers Cut was very good. When you book B2B you get a 30% off coupon for a la carte dining and I would spring for that definitely. Then go to the dining room in the YC for dessert (but I’m cheap to a fault).

We had the same form in our cabin! We filled it out and just put 40 piece laundry package at the bottom and our cabin attendant just looked at it confused and said that if we send that we will be billed for each individual piece and we have to use the package form. I’m so confused about the process… On a positive note though we had a great excursion and I bought two more new shirts to wear, lol! I’m thinking of just going to customer service and saying that I have no confidence that they will provide the service that we paid for and ask that our 90 dollars be changed to on board credit. But like everything MSC I’ll probably get the answer that, either they can’t do that onboard, or send me to another office that handles that type of stuff…

Yeah I think it has a lot to do with how good of a room attendant is assigned. We had one and it changed after our second week so I’m sure that had a lot to do with why. We asked about the laundry, learned about the other form for packages and were told that we would get one later in the cruise. I’m waiting for today and if I don’t get it I’m headed to guest services. Everything else has been great on the cruise, I guess there has to be something that goes wrong and this is not too bad overall.

My wife and I are on a 14 day cruise on the Seascape and the laundry package has been a nightmare. We were ready to send our 40 items only to be told that there is another form for the laundry package. We’ll it’s the 11th day of our cruise and we have yet to receive the forms for the two laundry packages we purchased. I’m wearing the t shirts that I bought while visiting the ports we first went to. Not impressed at all with the cabin service at MSC for regular passengers.

Still says all aboard by 5 and departure by 6pm. Hopefully the issue has been fixed.

My wife and I were looking at last minute cruises in Miami if it gets cancelled but not sure if we can make the port times work. I’m leaning towards booking an all inclusive resort in Cancun as a backup plan to finish out our last week.

I was wondering if this type of issue is normal for the cruise industry. Specifically that a ship would have engine issues that couldn’t be resolved and still schedule things normally for the week after. The current sailing has already been promised a 50% refund. Although, if the next sailing gets the same refund, it will be The cheapest 2 week cruise my wife and I will ever take.
