Loving your report. We have a reservation for Teppanyaki on the Jewel next week, what would your advice be as to how much we should tip the chef?

Maybe Negroni sbagliato, which is Campari, Martini rosso and topped up with Prosecco, it’s lighter than the normal Negroni which has gin instead of the Prosecco and is pretty lethal but both options don’t have sugary mixers.

Hi, I love your reports with your dad and am sorry he won’t be with you on this one. I have a question that I think you can answer. We are on the Jewel Panama to San Diego cruise in 10 days and am starting to think about packing. What is the air conditioning like in the restaurants? Do I need to pack a light jacket or a pashmina and should I pack long sleeve shirts or sweatshirts for my husband?

Hi, we are on the Jewel Panama to San Diego cruise and will be stopping in Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatamala, Huatulco, Puerta Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. When we’re on holiday we don’t usually like taking a lot of cash and use cash machines to withdraw what we need for excursions, tips etc. Is there a country on our stops that we should avoid using cash machines? We only use ones at banks or where there’s security guards. We are European so I have to order dollars and would like to get an idea of how much we would need.

I have been on hundreds of planes ( mainly European airlines as we live in Italy) and the only time they lost my luggage was a Miami to Milan flight with American Airlines so it can happen with any airline. It’s the ground staff at the airport not the airline staff. We have iPhones and always put an AirTag in our luggage so we always know where it is.If it does get lost you can tell the airline exactly where it is so they can get it to you quicker.

I think you did the right thing.

It depends how much you drink. We are not big drinkers, a glass of wine or a beer with lunch, a cocktail at the pool , a Prosecco before dinner, a couple of glasses of wine with dinner then a drink before bed and the free at sea package is still worth it, because drinks are expensive on a cruise (at least for us Europeans) also you have the internet deal. Do a search for drink menus so it gives you an idea of the costs. Have a great cruise.

How did you get these prices. Was it last minute?, direct with NCL? or some other option?
