Genie is not the same as the concierge. Genie gets you private scheduled times for ship tours, ifly, flowrider, etc. The seats you want at shows reserved. Food and drinks in the room whenever and usually before you even have to ask. If you don't use UDP or DBP then I see it has less value for you. Personally my family does coastal like 2 nights on a 1 week cruise and tries to hit every specialty. I personally don't see the difference between sea/sky and a Jr or balcony room.

That's the magic, you don't have to. Retreat reaches out a few weeks before or when you board your butler makes it happen.

I think the issue there is that nobody would want to gamble while the show was playing - too grating on the ears.

I managed 12 drinks/day on a 12 night cruise once. The following week was rough. Most people don't do it for the value they do it so they no longer have to think about the should I or shouldn't I of ordering a drink, they can just relax and get what they want. Peace of mind.

Can I get clarification on this? I've heard mixed reports as to whether star class on spectrum is actually star class. I even see genies listed for spectrum on the star class FB page so presumably star class must still be a thing onboard?

Have done this in star class. Ordered from MDR to specialty/coastal and specialty/specialty. Hasn't been a problem really. Not sure if just because of star class. Also done similar in the retreat on X, no issues either.

Done several cruises last year and a new years into 2023 on apex. Everything retreat related is fantastic as always.

Apex does have starlink. Service is pretty good compared to what shipboard Internet has been in years past.

I think the Family Suite (and the prices for it) is a bit crazy but if I was 10-13 years old I would probably think otherwise. Booked in 2025 for the Royal which seems priced a bit more sane especially for those without young kids. Renders have them bringing back the piano which is a much-missed omission from quantum class and the modern celebrity ships + "upgrades" or whatever term they use for "amped"

I like the island but they really need to add a suites only area like labadee.

Anyone know if they're enforcing this limitation on Star class guests, since technically that's UDP?

Glad I looked at this, had been counting on the Genie to get a reservation for 14 at chef's table. I thought enough to call in and there was only a single night that had space left - for a december voyage!
