  1. We were getting them via FEDEX....this last set came via USPS....I held my breath not certain it would arrive....but it did!!!
  2. That very same thing happened for our recent Panama Canal cruise.....the app kept saying nothing was available on the first night. We had NO PROBLEM getting the restaurant and time we wanted on the first night using the "suite freebie" (which is truly a sweet freebie) by simply calling the DINE LINE when we got on board.
  3. Perhaps I'm not understanding your situation, but I'm in the USA and have booked an upcoming Australian cruise and just booked shore excursions through Princess totaling $509.90AUD and my credit card was charged $351.92USD. Is your remaining charge of $4.97 foreign currency transaction fees? With my credit card, there are no foreign currency transaction fees....which is a very good thing.
  4. YIKES!!!!! That sounds more like being in a grocery store these days than being on a cruise ship. On our last cruise we had one of the finest and most attentive waiters. It was a real pleasure to see him and to be served and looked after by him. Clone him!!!!
  5. Agreed! It's like being back with family. And what family doesn't have its ups and downs, eh? But the Princess crew makes you feel glad to be back home every time I board.
  6. I wonder if you foodies and savvy cruisers out there know about this little morsel of information I've only recently discovered myself - it's called the Tuscan Dinner....and it's reportedly on certain/select (perhaps the Royal Class ships maybe??) Sabatini's Restaurant/specialty dining. I believe it is about $50 or $60 pp. and I am told they have a special pre-selected menu but will bring alternate food out if you don’t care for what they are serving. Each course is paired with a different wine and a talk from the Maitre D’ about the wine and region. Unlike the Winemakers Dinner, you are seated with your own group of friends or family rather than those selected for the occasion. Has anyone heard of this or have information to share???

  8. Thanks! I was unaware there was a "general page" for Princess and will try and find it. I'm still very new to CruiseCritic....but it's a great community and great source of information.
  9. Enjoy the cruise.....a wonderful memory for you all to have.
  10. Have a wonderful sailing aboard the Regal. I wonder if you could do a favor and inquire about something I've only recently discovered myself - it's called the Tuscan Dinner....and it's in certain/select (Royal Class ships maybe??) Sabatini's specialty dining. I believe it is about $50 or $60 pp. and I am told they had a special menu and bring alternative food out if you don’t care for what they are serving. 11. Look into the contract to see if he would lose the money for cancelling his room. Depending on IF you win the bid....and WHEN you win the bid there could be significant financial penalties for him canceling his room.
  12. Argggggghhhhh!!!! is putting it mildly! It's quite outrageous!
  13. We're either chronic complainers.....or the hopeful remnant. Okay, maybe a bit of both!!! I booked my excursions the other night for Australia Sea-cation....in 125 days!!! But wait...they're a day ahead....so only 124 days to go!!! YIPPPPPEEEEE!!!! However, the excursions happen to be on the second leg of my B2B....and, quite naturally, they don't show up in the app because it's only recognizing the first leg of the B2B (GRRRRRR!!!!!)...even though it includes all the dates sailing of the second leg and it includes the specialty dining in the second leg. Since it all shows up in the Cruise Personalizer I'm resting easy among the hopeful remnant. Peace and all good!
  14. It's discouraging to waste cruise time like that. I don't think they take that into consideration at all. This motto, "They'll make it right on board" comes at a premium--our time enjoying the cruise.
  15. That's a very good thing....great! But wouldn't it be a show stopper to be able to explore and do all that using the app?? I, for one, think so.
  16. Here is another problem with the medallion app.....perhaps people have already made comment about it....but I have a B2B coming up in Australia. The app makes it appear as if it were a single booking rather than the two in which they were booked and paid. While the app has allowed me to reserve specialty dining across both bookings, it restricts booking excursions or spa treatments to the first leg of the B2B. I'll need to go into the on-line cruise personalizer to book excursions or spa treatments for the second leg. It makes no sense that they can pull in the specialty dining across both legs but not the excursions and spa treatments. Come on Princess!!!!! Get it together!!!!
  17. I was able to reserve specialty dining from the Premiere Package on a cruise that is still over 100 days out....and did so about 2 months back already.
  18. I wonder if there is something about the timing of when the original cruise was booked and when they implemented the new premier package. Perhaps on bookings made before the new package was launched that those sailings cannot grab their premiere credits while those that were booked after the launch date can. Something to ponder.....but it all requires great patience regardless when it comes to the app.
  19. You are right! It is one of the most frustrating things about the app. I am especially perturbed when their own staff suggest paying for the specialty dining reservation and then get the credit as OBC once on board the ship when even they cannot grab a free credit from the paid premiere package!!! Grrr..... On our last cruise back in April, that's what we had to do. And once on board, we were told so many conflicting stories AND WASTED SO MUCH TIME trying to get the OBC credit. One person took our information and said she would get back with us and two days later NOTHING. At guest services, one employee said it would have to be refunded back to our credit card. Finally, one of the very best guest services workers (Lester), clicked a few buttons and we had the OBC credits. So frustrating. So much time wasted. Interestingly enough, however, on my upcoming cruise in Australia, I am able to schedule the specialty dining reservations on the app without having to pay. I thought perhaps they would "disappear" the next day....but they're still there a month later!! Yahoo!!! Now watch, they'll be gone when I get onboard!! 🤣
  20. I would say for myself, that my mind plays far more tricks on me than my medallion app. But that's just me! 🤪 Hopefully, this will all get perfected before they start putting the chips in our brains.
  21. It should still be illegal to drive barefoot!!! Just as it should be illegal to drive smoking dope!!! Chicago is notorious for drivers toking it up. The few stop lights you encounter before getting onto Lake Shore Drive you can smell it getting sucked up into your car's HVAC or even if you just have your windows open!!! Awful. But I digress.......
  22. Bravo! I thought I was the only one who saved everything from my Princess vacations!!
  23. That is an excellent point. I have never encountered where you could use the medallion at a port vendor. I wonder if anyone else can comment?
