  1. I just got notified this week for ascent of January 14. It may be a month before you know anything.
  2. I’m hopeful for mine on the ascent on January 14th. I’m in Aqua currently and bid on Sky, Aqua sky, and celebrity suites!
  3. My mid way point (fair offer) is only $725 per person. Minimum was $450. I got a good price on my original cabin so don’t mind offering more.
  4. Good for you! Was that $1525 per person? My upcoming bid from an Aqua suite to an Aqua sky suite is considered “fair”. Wonder if I should downgrade my bid. Lots of Aqua sky suite available
  5. I’m on the ascent Jan 14. I have not heard yet about my bid. I’m not expecting to hear until the New Year.
  6. Awesome! And not a last minute notice either. Enjoy and happy honeymoon!
  7. Thank you! I’m not sailing until mid January. I’m happy with my current Aqua class cabin, but would prefer the Aqua Sky suite if I can get it.
  8. I’ve recently placed a move up bid, after receiving an emailed move up offer. I’ve now been following this thread. So many have commented that they can see their offer as pending. I don’t see anything. If I log in directly to Celebrity, the move up button does not work (tried on different browsers). I can only click on the email I’ve received and modify my offer. Anyone else face this issue? if I click on the original email offer, I do see that my offer was received. Is it here that you eventually see pending?
  9. Completely understand comparing apples to apples and different countries have different rules. In my price comparison I actually removed the value of my flights and priced port to port to compare to the UK price which included local flights. My price was still much higher. Won’t dwell on it anymore, but am curious if I am allowed to book a cruise through the UK agency or if you have to book only through your home country.
  10. I argued that point directly to SS (we booked direct) and they said they could not price match since I’m in Canada and the reduced fare I quoted was in the UK. Lesson learned. I will be doing more research before I book again, if I do.
  11. The charter still shows there are suites available but you can’t see which ones. You have to call to book
  12. Interesting! Thank you for the heads up. I have looked almost daily and sometimes a suite comes up making me think it’s someone cancelling. This time it’s a guarantee deluxe suite. I’m not seeing the vista suite. Wondering if the company that chartered is giving some suite back to SS
  13. Reassuring that you still love Silversea. I will look out for you! You may see us as well since there will be a group of us…listen for our Canadian accents!
  14. Mancunian. Thank you for you post, I’m coming in from Canada and I really don’t mind being surrounded by Brits. At least it’s individuals booking through the UK company as opposed to a group from a large corporation (I’m hoping). I’m more upset about the cost difference, almost $5,000 CDN. I would have considered switching itinerary, but I like the itinerary we chose and I’m not guaranteed this won’t happen on another itinerary.. Difficulty is also that we are a group of 9 with varied schedules so nearly impossible to switch at this point. I guess we have our own little group. I will make the best of it, but lesson learned
  15. I’m aware I’m being charged thousands more than the charter guests and that they will have enhanced entertainment and I will not. At this point, there is nothing more I can do. I have asked repeatedly. It has now left an incredibly negative impression of SS. I am told all small cruise lines do this to fill cabins. I’ve learned my lesson, never book direct and search for discounts before booking. Not what I expected from a supposedly luxury cruise line.
  16. I am on the Aug 27th sailing. I booked direct with SS, my first SS cruise, then transferred to a TA in North America. After I booked, my itinerary “disappeared” from SS website. It caused months of worry. Then it reappeared waitlisted. Some relief until through my persistent digging I found the UK company who had chartered the ship. I reached out to them, incognito, and was told I could only book through them. Well, not true since I have booked direct and have yet to be bumped. I have my air confirmed as well, so we will be on the ship. Now, I (through my TA) have asked SS to compensate us or at the very least get us into the advertised enhanced entertainment program. They have said clearly “no can do”. So after this upcoming cruise, I too will say NO to SS. This will be my first and last cruise with them.
