Thank you for your reply!  I have a feeling I won’t sleep well tonight trying to decide what to do.  Still on the fence and getting  different “advice” from friends.

Go with your gut feeling.  Let us know what you decide.

Unfortunately, no flexibility.   My TA is encouraging us to go and doesn’t feel it’s going to be an issue for us.  She’s been on several in the last few months without incident.  And she has an underlying condition, although vaccinated and boosted.  Of course, it’s always the luck of the draw no matter where we are.  Well, we have 24 hours before our final payment.  If worse comes to worse, we can always take advantage of the covid guarantee and cancel up to 30 days before and attempt the same cruise for NEXT year. (Again.)  I honestly think since the pandemic I’ve become slightly agoraphobic and just want an excuse to stay home!  So maybe this cruise is exactly what I need to get me out of my recliner!

Just make sure YOU are comfortable with your decision. Don’t let anyone talk you into something you aren’t sure of.   No one knows what you can handle or if it would be an issue for you.  Your TA is trying to sell the cruise & may not have your best interest.  FYI.  We cancelled the same cruise & it was a relief after we did.  Haven’t regretted the decision one bit.

  3. Pescado Amarillo,

Thank you for your update. You are living my worst nightmare & why we still aren’t cruising. Hope you are both ok. Hope you do decide to go home tomorrow before anything else happens & your husband can travel home soon after.  Sending hugs.

    ---

Renmar's great Obstructed View cabin content has been migrated to CruiseDeckPlans.com.

Here are direct links to each Princess ship's obstructed view page:

(On the website's Princess Cruises Ship Fleet page, you also can click on a ship then "Obst-View".)

*NOTE:  Currently the Majestic/Sky/Enchanted/Discovery obstructed view pages are empty, so for Royal class ships right now you could go to the Regal Princess obstructed view or Royal Princess obstructed view pages.

---Thank you for this info.  It’s greatly appreciated.

As mentioned earlier I decided to transfer my website to cruisedeckplan dot com for personal reasons. I like to thank all the people who so generously donated pictures to my website. Also a big thank you for all the encouragement I received over the years from members of Cruise Critic.

A special thanks to the owner(s) of cruisedeckplans who are trying to keep the obstructed view pages for the Princess ships free of charge.

Again, thanks for the good times I had doing this.

    Thank you so much.

Just recently retired and I’m looking for a project to keep me out of my DW way.

It seems to me that the obstructed view cabins have a lot of people wondering what they should expect and rightly so.

I know there is a tread that lists a lot of info about obstructed view cabins but I’m wondering if it would be useful to have something similar as they have on the HAL forum where you can check out a lot of cabins.

The only thing I would change is that this tread would only be for obstructed view cabins.

To get things started I have compiled pictures (good ones and bad ones) of cabins with obstructed view from most of the Princess fleet. I downloaded those pictures mainly from CC treads but also from other sites on the internet. However, I like to know if I’m breaking any rules by posting those pictures.

As far as I know, whatever is available on line is public domain but I could be wrong.

Anybody care to give me some info.

Also like to know what our moderator’s view is on this.

Does this site with pictures still exist.  My link doesn’t work.

Deflated ofcourse, then used stewards vacuum cleaner to blow the bulk of the air in and finished with a small portable hand pump. I think I could have used the hand pump from beginning to end but stewards vacuum cleaner was way easier 😁.

Just wondering what happened to your site with obstructed balcony pictures.  My link doesn’t work.

Both Scandic and Tivoli Hotel gets good reviews (but with a little edge to Tivoli) so for these two I would go with the best price you can get.

Bethel is rated somewhere in the middle of the 2 other mentioned hotels (4,2 compared to 4,0 and 4,3 on Googles review) but for me I think the location is far superior.

Thank you so much.  I’ll book the Bethel for the location.

I would add that Bethel has the best location.

But what Scandic hotel are we talking about?

There is no one with Tivoli in its name but Scandic Palace, Scandic Webers, Scandic Copenhagen and Scandic Kødbyen are all located near Tivoli.

It’s the Hotel Bethel, Scandic Copenhagen & Hotel Tivoli Copenhagen I’m deciding between.

    Any Opinions?  Thanks.

  10. We boarded at 10:57am!!! I immediately went to the CG to make a reservation for Ro's birthday on Thursday. I then called room service to change our mini-bar offerings. We are now eating at Alfredos. The Elite wifi is now unlimited. The speed test is great, but it is barely working. I assume it will get better at sea. The obstructed balcony is awesome!

Are you in Emerald 429? Looks like our balcony when we had that cabin.
  11. That's great timing for in-transit passengers. We saw that done when we did our Bon Voyage Experience on the Regal a little over a year ago.

Please post your thoughts about the new CD. I haven't seen her name on the list of CDs before.

We really like her. Have sailed with her twice already. Once as the assistant CD on the Pacific Princess 50th anniversary cruise & once as the cruise director this past October on the Royal TA. She’s around all the time & interacts well with the passengers. FYI she goes by Lexi.

  12. I. guess a lot of it falls on the CD..."bird" something...can't tell you his name, as I haven't actually seen him. On our previous sailings, headliners were not in Live, so we did not have the issue of no available seats. Getting to the theatre 30 min early is one thing, but getting there an hour early and needing to sit through another program is quite different.

Do you know how long the CD will be on? We board on February 2nd for 2 weeks. Also who is the entertainment director because they are responsible for all the scheduling? Hope next week is better for you.

    Thanks.
