  1. We are arriving at IAH airport (George Bush airport) in Houston and staying overnight at the airport and then thinking of taking a Princess transfer to Bayport cruise terminal the next morning. Just wondering what the earliest anyone has taken a transfer from the airport as we like to get to the ship early and I'm trying to figure out our options? It's either this or staying somewhere closer to the cruise terminal.

    Thanks!

  2. I have yet to meet this Mr. Godwin, but I would put him up against a fine head waiter we had the pleasure of sailing with on the Emerald named Darko anyday. One day perhaps we will meet all of these rock stars of the Princess world. [emoji3]
I agree with you. Darko was our head waiter on the Emerald TA in October & he is by far the best head waiter we have ever sailed with. I'm on a special diet so have alot of interaction with the head waiter. Also since Godwin was my head waiter on the Royal TA & can compare my experiences. Yes Godwin is great but Darko is even better.:D
  3. We need to book a transfer from Heathrow to a London Hotel. I've been looking at 3 companies & need some feedback.

The choices I have are 365 Airport Transfers, 247 Airport Transfers or Just Airports. Wondering if anyone has used these from the airport.

Also how much time should you add on to your flight arrival time to make sure you clear customs & immigration?

Thanks! Any other tips or suggestions are appreciated.

  4. The price of both the Premier's is pretty much the same so that doesn't help with deciding. Either hotel we would end up taking a cab to Victoria Station. How long of a cab ride is it from Waterloo to Victoria Station?

Is there a Sainsburys near Waterloo too?

Also we want to get the Travel card with the 2 for 1 discounts. I know you can buy at National Rail at Victoria Station but is Waterloo also a National Rail Station? I know that makes a difference.

    Thanks!

  5. We are going to be in London pre cruise for 4 nights starting October 21st. At this late date my choices are more limited. I have either the Premier Inn Waterloo/Westminster or the Premier Inn Victoria Station. Park Plaza Westminster is also a possibility but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money.

On Saturday we will be taking the Princess transfer from Victoria Station directly to the ship.

Which area is better to stay in to be more centrally located? How much would a cab be from the Waterloo/Westminster area to Victoria Station?

Any other hotel suggestions or opinions will be helpful.

Is there any grocery type stores close to either location.

    Thanks!

  6. We were interviewed this week and accepted in the Global entry program that gives you 5 years for $100 and includes the TSA Precheck. Why spend $85 for 3 years when you can get 2 programs for slightly more $'s and 2 extra years?
Where was your interview at? Online or someplace in Chicago? Did wait a long time to get an appointment for the interview?

    Thanks!

  7. We booked Princess Air on that same cruise. We got a 10:30 AM flight. Since it's Princess Air & we met their time requirement will be able to take their shuttle to the airport or will we have to do early disembarkation on our own & take cab to the pier? Since the ship is docked in Barcelona the day before what time do they let us leave the ship? Is it earlier than on other cruises?

  8. We are cruising out of San Francisco in September 2014, and when I first started considering hotel rooms for a pre-cruise stay I looked at the Argonaut. We've stayed in the Argonaut before and love it, but I balked at the price (almost double what we paid several years before). One of our roll call members uses Priceline frequently, and was pretty sure she could identify a certain San Francisco hotel. She was correct in her hunch. So a number of us also used Priceline, and will be staying at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf for $85.00 per night.

The moral of the story is to check the roll call for your particular sailing.

How did identify that the hotel is the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf? How many stars?
  9. I have read that the Star is looking a bit "tired & worn". I am just wondering if there is a drydock scheduled in the near future for the Star & if so, when?
We were just on the Star for 15 nights & she is in fantastic shape!!:D
  10. We just got off the Star & this is exactly what we received. Except we got 2 lip glosses. I bring my own shampoo in the small bottles but DH uses the Princess shampoo in the small bottle. Each time one was empty in the shower, 2 more appeared on the bathroom counter. Not sure if this made a difference but there were only 210 Elites onboard. IMG_1627.JPG

  11. Pia, Congrats on your 75th Cruise! We loved Sabatinis for breakfast the 1 cruise we could go. Also about 5 years ago we were invited to tour the bridge too. Never figured out why. Sorry I missed your live but we got to cruise LIVE on the Star. :p:p. Yes we still had Motor City too. We only had 210 elites onboard but still no luncheon for us. Maybe someday. Will be following along on your cruise next month. Donna

  12. Hi we recently used the Hoppa on Hoppa off in Hilo and it worked out really nicely. Our first stop was Rainbow Falls and our driver waited for everyone (about 10 minutes) and than most of the other stops we were dropped off and a bus came by about every 20 minutes for pick-ups and drop-offs. They'll give you a bracelet when you pay and that's all you need to show the driver when getting on. It worked out great for us.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Thanks so much. Just the info I wanted!:)
  13. If it's the same as the city bus there (I would have to check my notes from a couple of cruises ago)' date=' the buses often didn't run on time (many of us were concerned that we weren't going to get back to the ship on time, and almost went for a taxi), they have convoluted routes (not in a straight line). The first bus we were on was filthy and smelly too.[/quote']It's not the city bus? Has anyone used the Hoppa On Hoppa Off in Hilo. It makes only 8 stops & a few of those are photo stops where they wait for you.
