Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. If you are a confident cyclist there cycles to rent on the dockside being Denmark there are cycleways everywhere and its completely flat you just have to avoid all the tourists. Pick up the map from from the cruise terminal and go off exploring you can't get lost your cruise ship will be the tallest thing around apart from the lighthouse.
  2. If you have ever wanted to see Norway and the midnight sun 23rd June to 7th July 2024 Costa Favolosa 14 nights from Hamburg £599 for an inside cabin £799 for a balcony from the Costa UK site £420 for the my drinks package (£30 a day) its worth it as Costa charge for everything including water at meals Hamburg (Departure) At sea Alesund At sea Tromsø Honningsvåg At sea Leknes At sea Bodo At sea Olden Haugesund At Sea Hamburg (Arrival) Should be far enough ahead to get decent flight prices to Hamburg without the last minute suplement
  3. I visited Le Verdon in October, the port itself is an abandoned container terminal in the middle of nowhere. We walked about 2.5 miles up the coastal path past the big marina to Pointe de Grave, the ferry terminal for Royan. It is a pleasant 20 minute crossing to Royan and the town is a post 1950s resort (empty in October and closed on Mondays). We did not have a lot of time as the ferries were on an Autumn schedule but I understand in summer they run more regularly. If you have more time there is a museum and a casino in the town together with beautiful beaches the Notre-Dame dr Royan church is worth a stop, the sea front restaurants provide a decent lunch with the locals and french tourists. On your way back you can visit the Phare de Grave lighthouse if it is open (it was on Mondays).
